This reel is adjustable for 35 mm, 46 mm and 120/220 films. No loader is needed the film is walked into the reel. Using the Duo-Clip enables it to hold two rolls of 120 film. To load 35 mm film, cut the end square, and trim the corners on the lead end of the film. For 120/220 films, remove the paper backing and fold over the tape to make the film end more rigid. Again, trim the corners on the lead end of the film. Open the Duo-Clip and then push the film into the opening on the outer layer of the reel. Press your right index finger on the film edge protruding through the recessed section of the reel. Turn the right half of the reel forward (clockwise) until it stops to advance the film. Lift your right index finger and repeat the same procedure with the left half of the reel. By advancing the film alternately with the right and left halves of the reel, load the full length of the film into the reel. (Remove any cartridges or spools attached to the end of the film.) When loading two 120 rolls into the reel, advance the first to the stop at the center of the reel. Press down the Duo-Clip to prevent the film from moving and then load the second roll, in the same manner as the first, until the trailing edge of the film has gotten just into the outer layer of the reel. The pin on the inside of the reel prevents the inner layers of film from touching each other.

If you've never had the delight of carrying a little transistor radio in your pocket, you will be surprised by the pleasure derived from the Sangean DT-110 digital AM/FM stereo receiver. It weighs less than 5 ounces, well beneath the range of possibility for CD or cassette players, and it packs numerous features, including auto-scan, auto-preset, and one-touch recall of your preset stations. A lock mode even prevents accidental changes to the tuner's setting.

To use the unit, just pop in a couple of AAA batteries, flip the unlock switch, and turn it on. The cord connecting the earphone to the receiver acts as an antenna for FM reception, and a built-in antenna assists with AM reception. You can improve AM reception by rotating the unit. The hard earphones take a bit of getting used to, and different cord lengths for the left and right ears left us a bit mystified. On live broadcasts we found that the mono/stereo button improved sound by reducing audience noise. (Mono is usually designed to improve reception on weaker FM stations.) The Deep Bass Booster (DBB) is prominently featured on the receiver's packaging, but we found it did little to improve the sound. Still, the receiver offered surprisingly good listening with or without the bass booster.

Manual tuning of the DT-110 is easy, and storing favorite stations in memory is intuitive. The volume control is a dainty wheel requiring subtle movements to adjust. With the operator's guide, you'll find a thorough directory to all the features, and in just a few minutes you can set your 15 favorite stations and be on your way.

We loved listening to this little receiver and wish other ultracompact portable devices provided as many options and as good reception as the Sangean DT-110. --David Greenberger

Small portable radio.......2007-04-03

Great radio.
So much smaller, and easier to use than the "walkman type"
portables. Digital display means you are right on your prefered station. Bought a small $2.00 digital camera case for ease of carry and added protection. works great and has good reception on both bands.

AM Reception - not so good.......2006-06-13

I like this radio - except that the only reason to pay so much for a portable radio - AM reception is not so good.

I had a Sangean DT200V AM/FM/TV Portable Pocket-Size Radio which I liked - except that, when I dropped it, it broke.

Since this radio was advertized as having good reception and becuase I liked the DT200V, and didn't need the TV reception or the built in speaker, I thought this one would be good. It would be lighter and possibly less breakable as it uses lighter batteries and doesn't have a built in speaker.

I like the features (I like the setting for three favorites) and I like the locking feature and the 90 minute automatic turn off. However, the AM reception isn't so good. It often has backround noise and is not as good as the DT200V - sometimes almost unlistenable. Any cheap radio will have adequate FM reception so AM reception was the whole reason I bought this radio - so I'm disappointed.

Great radio, lightweight........2005-08-08

This is the third DT-110 I've owned in 7 years. This is a great radio for work or working around the house. The only reason I needed to buy 3 was they were either dropped, or dropped into water(KIDS). This radio has almost as good reception as the larger DT-200. Recommended.

Very sensitive little radio.......2005-07-01

When I go to the gym, I listen only to NPR and only with ear buds to block out the bad hip-hop they play. I have been through a number of different radios and reception for the local NPR station has been spotty at best. The arm-band sports radios were terrible. I had a little pocket Sony but I had to hold the headset cord in a certain way for each machine I was using. What a pain.

I can easily say that a bad day with the Sangean DT-110 is still better than the best day with any of the others. Since this is the news, I can switch the radio to mono which helps it discriminate the signal better. No more messing with the headphone cord. I do hear occasional static but still far and away the best reception of the half dozen others.
