I bought these Bookshelf Speakers to replace some older speakers. My wife has never loved the big speaker look so I opted for these. Most people have never heard of this brand but this company is a well-kept secret. Their speakers are excellent and cost much less than the leading competitors.

The sound is bright, detailed, pretty good overall, excellent for the price. Bass is about what you would expect from a speaker of this size and price. Finish and appearance are mediocre.

I've had these for 3 days now breaking them in and they sound terrific. It's too bad they are made in China now but the quality is still there. Obviously the QC was carried over to China. Can't believe how good these sound out of the box, very detailed, and I don't see a reason to upgrade the crossovers like others have done. Can't beat this deal.

These speakers sound great - both highs and bass. Paired them with a BIC subwoofer for movies, etc. and really picks up the bass even more. Just a little bigger than I wanted but the price was great!

Well balanced sound from these great little speakers. Can't beat them for their size and price. Bass doesn't go all the way down to the "feel it" range but it fits in perfectly with the rest of the music. Will be looking for a small, cheap sub-woofer to complete the package. All-in-all it will greatly improve my HDTV experience and they are well worth the money.

I have 4 DV62si speakers in my suround system. They are the best I have ever had. They sound better then my Old bose life style system by far. Clear with good base. They make my old time rock and roll music come alive. And movies as well. 100 percent happy so far. I have had then for about 3 months so far. And they look great also. Best of all was the price. A steal at about $110.oo a pair.

I bought these speakers because they'd been higly rated with a consumer magazine I subscribe to (not a hi-fi magazine) and for the low price, just over $100 for the pair with Amazon's free shipping. Especially compared to my old speakers, these BIC speakers are very bright and fine. The bass isn't the strongest point but does better the farther from the rear wall I place them. I like them quite a bit and they seemed to have developed a more mellow sound over the first few weeks after being a bit harsh initially. Also Amazon is one of the few dealers that carries the oak finish instead of the black ash. Excellent value.

Best Value in Home Theater.......2005-08-23

I find that BIC speakers are the Rodney Dangerfields of audio. They get no respect but have the last laugh. I now own five of them and can attest to their value. I mostly watch movies and these speakers make for a wondrous sonic experience. My wife is a practicing skeptic and wondered why I had bought more speakers. Upon hearing them for the first time she said that they had a "richness" that she had not heard from any of my previous speakers. Even more suprising is that they may sound best when playing music. In my setup I have a BIC DV62 CLR-S for the center, 2 BIC DV64 Towers for Front L/R, the 2 DV62SIs for Rear Center L/R and Wharfedale WH-2 Bipolar speakers for L/R surrounds. They are mated with a Pioneer VSX-1015TX receiver and a JBL PB10 powered subwoofer. The sound for the price can't be beat. The Eagles new DVD, Farewell Tour I makes for a truly exceptional listening experience with this setup and the DV62SIs are the speakers that bring out the richness in the sound. When you have a good surround source, these speakers allow you to hear all of the detail in the sound. These are the fourth pair that I have tried in the same placement, but the ones that will stay. I think that the build quality is excellent and the sound is superb. Am I a bit over the top? You bet I am. Even my wife approves. What more could I ask?

Picked these up with some X-mas money, mainly for play use with my 4yr old son, with some minor utility while out with the family.

For the kids, and light usage, they can't be beat considering the price. I did take them to the mall, and frequently had people on the same channels, as well as reception issues (it's a big concrete structure after all).

But for walking around the neighborhood, going to a park, or maybe usage in a department store, they serve their purpose well.

If you're looking for more heavy duty, longer range, high-security 2-way's, these aren't for you.

If you want simple, easy to use, light usage radios, this is your best bet.

Being a ham operater I also have a need to be able to track small children and also use to have car to car comunications we found the units good for both uses. the smallness made them most useful while hikeings and for keeping tabs on the kids. I would recomend to anyone.

I picked up pair a month or so ago from a local "Mart." Nicely sized, however, no sub-code feature makes these units almost unusable in any type of crowded (theme park) venue. In addtion, the speaker quality was poor. Frequent message repeats were required to communicate effectively. Pass.

Excellent investment for everybody!.......2007-06-27

I wanted an SLR for a long time (especially a Nikon), but budget was a real issue. This is an absolutely great deal! Not only one great all-around lens, but two - and the bag-wonderful! I had already known about Nikon quality, which is why I went with this package. Although you can take pictures right out of the box (add batteries and film), I started building on it right away with filters and an auxiliary flash (I always wanted to do that). It is easy to use for amateurs or beginners, but has features for the pro as well. Eventually I want to change over to digital, and with Nikon's system, I know that will not be a problem. With this package, whatever you want to add on now, and build on, you won't have to worry about changing over later. One very, very minor drawback - order a strap as soon as possible, as it doesn't come with one.

Exquisite Collectible Leica MP.......2004-12-21

Hermes, the fashionable, expensive French fashion and small goods manufacturer, has the largest minority ownership in Leica Camera AG, so it's not surprising that its influence can be seen in this expensive, collectible version of the Leica MP. It is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful Leica M rangefinder cameras I have seen. But is it worth the money and will it be a desirable Leica collectible? My gut reaction to both questions is no (The most desirable collectible cameras have been special edition Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA) titanium editions, and low-production regular models.). But if you are someone for whom price is no object and you simply want one of the most lovely Leica M cameras ever made, then you must acquire the Leica MP Hermes Special Edition, or build your own via Leica's new A La Carte program, at a somewhat substantial savings. My own personal preference would to buy your own custom-made MP with M7-styled rewind crank and film advance lever with plastic tip, than acquire this lovely camera.

I agree with the other reviewers...LaCie's products are badly designed/built, and support is very poor -- non-existent once out of warranty. Of course, you'll be lucky if a product of theirs makes it that far.

Bad product.......2006-11-02

The Lacie 1.2T extreme was purchased to provide offline access to a about 400gig of files from a file server. There are massive delays in browsing the directories even via a cli interface. I've never experiances such a slow access time on an external hard drive as this product. It maybe good if you have a small number of large files but the seek times make this worthless for large numbers of small files.

Also note the USB interface is turned off if a firewire cable is plugged in. It would of been nice for letting two machines access at once... but no luck with this. It is for single user only.

steer clear of this unit!.......2006-10-16

I had gotten tired of using a 250GB external and decided to step up to the mack daddy and assume i wouldn't have to buy another external for five years. well, now after a little under a month of using this unit, it isn't recognized by any of my PCs. I've tried all of the recommended tweaks to get it back but now, i need to find a data reovery specialist and deal w/ Lacie's horrendous support. you would think when you drop a decent amount of change on something that the thing would at least make it a year before implosion. apparently other units have a decent track record but not this one. beyond disgusted...

Support non-existent, hopeless, non-responsive, unable to issue return authorisation, been waiting months...
Drives noisy, two fans coming on and off, enough to disturb your sleep with the occasional rattle...
Minimal software, need to buy TechToolPro (MAC) to do diagnostics. My last LaCie Product!.
