It crawls at 1.5X after two weeks!!!.......2004-06-03

Bought this dvd-rom as a back up to my dvd writer. It came with PowerDVD, which seems to be more versatile than WinDVD. I noticed that it originally read at above 8x max but now it is constantly at about 1.5x, which defeats the purpose of my purchase because it's now reads slower than my dvd writer that rates at a slower read speed! The program that I use to rip dvds for backup always show something in the buffer, sometimes as much as 50%! My computer slows down to a crawl whenever this dvd-rom is used to rip a dvd; doing something like surfing the web seems to be a chore. You should think about buying some other dvd-rom drive if your purpose is not to watch movies only.

LG 16X MAX DVD-ROM DRIVE is definately a great product. Extremely low noise and fast playback for both CD and DVD. It's very inexpensive compare to many other brands. Plus it also include a FREE high quality software[PowerDVD]for the DVD movie playback. I bought this camera while I was just learning how to take manual photographs, and have been pleased at the variety of options and quality of photographs. I have never had a problem with any feature, loading film or otherwise, and the Quantaray lens has allowed me more versatility in shots. I highly recommend it, and would like to point out that Nikon is THE name in photography, and should have an extensive warranty to cover defects in manufacturing. Another great Nikon.

Lost my Pictures!.......2005-01-02

The N75 is the first SLR camera that I've owned that failed to rewind - twice. This meant the loss of two valuable rolls of film.

There was no explanation other than an E (for error) and the camera FROZE UP.

There is no manual rewind - forget this dangerous camera - its unreliable - ceck the Interent for others who have had similar problems - they are out there.

Device works exactly as expected. I am using it with a MacbookPro via firewire and an XP laptop with USB. Works great with both and I can transfer files between. Device is light, reliable, and fast. More expensive than other versions and brands but worth it.

I ordered this drive because I loved the size and look of it (inside it is the same as many other options). When I received it and opened the box I was blown away. The pictures don't do it justice. It is so small and elegant looking and it comes with a nice soft case which makes it great for carrying around with your laptop.

I love this drive and would definitely buy another Lacie drive in the future.

It took a few reader reviews for me to realize that the price difference between different Lacie models is attributable to some having USB only. I bought the drive with both and am delighted with the speed of data transfew. Also, I use SuperDuper! by shirt-pocket (a backup utility for Mac that's only about $28 and worth every penny). This software makes usage EASY and has an option to backup only files that have changed, so it's very fast.

I was looking for a small sized plug & play high capacity external hard drive to back up all my MP3s and videos onto and found this.

With a capacity of 100GB, it is small (about 1cm wider, and 2.5cm longer than my iPod) and extremely lightweight (180g), it is very convenient to carry about, and with a simple but sleek design by F.A. Porsche, it's not too bad to look at too.

Supplied with a black, velvety pouch, it comes with USB and firewire cables, as well as a power cable (not needed, except for some laptops which may limit the amount of electricity provided by the interface cable, according to the manual). Data transfer is rapid (I use USB 2). So far, I'm a happy camper!
