Product Description
Our best all-in-one music system is now even better. The Acoustic Wave® music system ll offers more lifelike sound for larger spaces, with improved functionality and versatility, yet remains refreshingly simple to use.
Acclaimed waveguide speaker technology still lies at the heart of this system's performance, so it rivals the sound of much larger, more complicated stereos. An all-new Bose digital platform fine tunes the sound for more accurate, consistent music reproductioneven at louder volume levels. Vocals sound cleaner. Instruments ring truer. The result comes closer to music in a natural, live-performance setting.
The Acoustic Wave® music system ll plays your home-burned CDs as well as regular discs and AM/FM radio. You'll find a new headphone jack for private listening, auxiliary inputs and an updated informational display. A variety of accessories adds to your listening enjoyment at home or on the go. And you can add our optional 5-CD changer for even more continuous listening.
The system hasn't changed in size or convenience. It still fits almost anywhere in your home, easily controlled from across the room by a credit card-sized remote. It accomodates your MP3 player, travels easily and goes portable with the optional power pack.
The original Acoustic Wave® music system changed opinions of what a quality stereo system could be. Now, the Acoustic Wave® music system ll challenges our perceptions once again, with sound that comes even closer to the essence of live performance.

Product Description
The Wave radio II delivers deeper tones and crisper, more accurate audio performance than the original. The key to the improved sound is the new dual tapered waveguide technology, exclusively from Bose. Engineers re-sculpted the interior of the Wave radio II to accommodate not one, but two 26" folded waveguides. These dual waveguides amplify the low-frequency output, reproducing musical notes a full one-half octave lower than the original Wave radio. The result: Instruments like kettle drums and bass guitars have a more natural presence. With such accurate sound reproduction, you can appreciate more of the intricate nuances of many instruments, including the human voice. You may even hear details in music that you've never heard before. There's also a new equalization feature for talk radio. It automatically compensates for the artificially boosted low frequencies found in some talk radio programs so announcers sound more natural. The Wave radio II is simple to use. Instead of buttons on the unit, everythings conveniently controlled with a well-organized credit card-sized remote. And setups easy too. The digital FM/AM tuner, amplifiers and speakers are all built into the unit. Just unpack it and plug it in to enjoy Bose quality sound. The display panel is large and bright, with big, bold text thats easier to read from across the room. It displays more information now too. Radio station, current time and alarm setting are all shown simultaneously. You can also use your Wave radio II to enjoy lifelike sound with your TV, VCR, DVD player or computer, thanks to the auxiliary input jack. Or plug your headphones into the convenient headphone jack for private listening. You can even place the Wave radio II near your TV or computer monitor because the speakers are magnetically shielded to avoid interference with the picture image.

Way too pricey for you actually get........2007-01-20
I'll start by saying that I have found reception to worse than the $20 clock radio it replaced. For it's small footprint, the sound is nicer than one would expect to come out of a small radio. However, in no way is it as nice as a small set of decent bookshelf speakers. It just can't produce the accurate highs that come from a seperate tweeter, nor can it produce low end frequencies with any real presence (I am NOT referring to boomy bass here). Overall, the sound is a bit tinny. It would make a great clock radio if they improved the reception, and it was 1/4 the price. That'll never happen, though, because too many people have fallen for the gimmicky Bose sound.

Great Sound and Easy to Use But There's a Catch.......2005-12-23
The Bose Wave Radio II is easy to use, has top-of-the-line speakers and has a high-quality build. I use mine as a TV stereo speaker. The auxiliary input works for that function and what I like is that it doesn't take up a lot of space next to the TV. Indeed, incredible sound for the size of the speakers. So why only four stars, not five? Because the Bose, for all the money it costs, is not a top radio performer. It has only average AM reception with its internal ferrite antenna and worse its FM relies on the power cord for what is truly a lame "antenna." So as a speaker, the Bose is great but as a radio it is well below par. For hooking up to your TV, the Bose is outstanding. But as a bedside radio? No way. You would be better off buying a 159-dollar Sangean WR-2, a 259-dollar Sangean HDR-1, or a 159-dollar Tivoli Songbook for your bedside. But if you're integrating the Bose into your TV home entertainment system and you don't mind spending the money and you're not fastidious about your FM reception, then you will enjoy the Bose.
Incredible sound from a small space, highly recommended!.......2005-08-06
I highly recommend the Bose Wave Radio II after having one for a month, here are the pros and cons:
PROS:
* Excellent sound quality and volume. Plays the full sound spectrum well - from deep bass notes to high octave soprano. Can turn the volume up to "very loud" before sound distortion is audible, so it's easy to listen to the radio from one room while working in another or while cleaning the house.
* Small space requirements. Easily fits on top of a bedside cabinet along with the bedside lamp. Remote control is right-sized too, only slightly larger than a credit card.
* Good features. The alarm clock works well and the input jack comes in handy if you want to listen to a CD or XM satellite radio through a portable external player.
* Ease of use. Very intuitive and easy-to-use design on the remote control and the radio, was able to use everything without referencing the product manual.
* Esthetics and envy. This radio looks great, people ask about it when they see it.
* Resale value. You won't find a used Bose Wave radio for cheap on eBay or the Amazon marketplace, Bose radios tend to hold their resale value well over time.
* Made in America. You may feel more patriotic after buying it.
CONS:
* Cost. Definitely more expensive than other radios, but considering the quality and resale value, it's probably a good value overall. If you have a rewards credit card, the radio might be obtained (for "free") by using accumulated credit card points -- many credit card points catalogs (i.e., Diners Club Rewards catalog) have the Wave Radio.
Overall, an excellent product and highly recommended. Keep up the good work Bose!
Amazing sound..........2005-05-13
First of all, I want to clarify that any reference here to "bass" is not a reference to rumbling, booming low ends of sound, but to the sound made by instruments such as bass drums, bass guitar, classic bass, etc. It's the sound, not the vibration. This system does it, and does it amazingly. It sounds like the deepest tone- from outside and from a distance, and it's from such a small unit. It's confusing to go right up to the system and notice that it isn't vibrating in the least, nor shaking the platform it is set on. Bose also created a system that lowers the octave for lower tones, and that doesn't just include bass sound, but bass percussion, so that these sounds are more easily noticeable from quieter volumes. As for clarity, well, status-quo for Bose. My mom owns the larger Wave system, and the clarity is amazing, and this system follows suit completely. To illustrate, I placed my Wave Radio on a TV stand I wasn't using and played an acoustic song- guitar and singing only, and it was as if the singer was knelt right there singing! You can hear every breath taken, from the beginning of the note sang to the end of it.
What enabled Bose to create such full, melodic bass in such a small unit was the patented waveguides. This principal is similar to a port system- bass production through the movement of air, which means there may be a lot of dead space or "standing wave." This may account for the number of people who've gone unimpressed with this system. To the untrained ear it may seem like only average sound, and it certainly can be if you're concentrating on listening to it up close only. I once owned a 540W ported system, so I knew that all I had to do with this one is shove (not literally) it into a corner, and listen to it from an adjacent vantage point, as close to the wall as possible. When this is done, the intended sound will come to life for you! Like I said, it isn't boomy, but completely melodic, and indistinct in its direction, which means it "fills the room with sound," as has been claimed.
I used to be obsessed with boomy bass being a pop listener, but I've also evolved into an audiophile, and so far, this system is all that Bose claims for it to be. One error for them, though, may be in relying on people to become educated on superior acoustics and adopt a taste for practical sound, rather than popular sound. I don't care, though. I'm smart enough to know that this system is far ahead of its time...

Customer Reviews:
The best you can buy in its class.......2002-11-04
I have used different cameras, from manual Russian cameras, to state of the art point-and-shoot. I have even fiddled with digital cameras, and considered switching to digital. Well, I decided to stick to film for now, so I bought the Nikon N-80 (known in Europe as Nikon F-80, same camera with minimal software differences).
This is a very good camera, which adapts to every kind of user.
Occasional users: You can set it to automatic mode, in which case you have a very expensive point-and-shoot camera (even though I don't know why would one buy this camera to use in auto mode only). For people with little experience the camera's many controls might be intimidating, and the included manual provides help only for people that know quite a bit about cameras. Also, the flash has to be popped opened manually in order to work, which many people would forget (like I do sometimes). Perhaps, for ocassional users, it would be better to stick to a point-and-shot camera designed for point-and-shot.
Advanced amateur photographers and hobbyists will get the most out of it. Think of a professional camera similar to F-100, without the proffessional price tag. They will have all the customizations offered. I love the simplicity of exposure controls. You can switch by turning a thumb-wheel between pairs of speed-diaphragm while keeping an optimum exposure (in auto mode). In addition, a good option is continuous or single shot metering mode, which comes handy in action situations. For situations when timing is important, the controls are so well placed that once you get used to them, you can change all the settings without even taking the camera from your eyes.
If you are a professional, you already know about this camera and about the F-100 line, which might be better for you in some situations (even though in 90% of the cases this camera would be more than enough).
Things that might need improvement:
In dark places, the focus is somewhat slow (even if the "illuminator lamp" is used), and if your subject moves, you might have a problem focusing fast enough in auto mode. I lost some pictures in the beginning, until I learned to circumvent this issue by switching to continuous focus, or even to manual focus. I think that any other camera in this class would have the same troubles in similar situations.
All things considered, I love this camera and I wish I had more time (and money) to play with it.

Using it with iDVD is tricky.......2005-09-22
I recently bought one of the LaCie DVD burners with Lightscribe, in order to burn DVDs that I had created using iDVD on my Macintosh. However, every time I tried burning a disc I would get an error message. I spoke to LaCie's customer service who said "We don't support iDVD, only Toast. Call Apple." I was not very pleased with this response. Since LaCie markets heavily to Mac users, and iDVD is the main program for creating DVDs on the Mac, I was surprised at this lack of support. I called Apple, who basically said that it sounded like a problem with the DVD burner. Since I had tried this on two different computers, I agreed. I was ready to return the unit when I did some further Internet searching. Turns out that there is a simple solution for using iDVD: in iDVD, after you're done assembling the DVD, go to "Save as disc image" (under File menu). This creates a disk image on your desktop (can take a few hours). When it's done, open the disk image, make sure it works (using DVD player), then use Toast to copy the disk image to a DVD. Works well.
I'm surprised that the Tech support at LaCie didn't know enough about their burners to tell me this!
works ok in general .......2005-09-10
did not do as well as plextor. the plextor i have, which has firewire and usb not just firewire (though you can get the plextor with both), burned a dvd on an old computer while this one couldnt, tho i had to use 16x media to do it on the plextor. it may just be the roxio 7 program i have. i dont know. both worked about the same on a g4 apple.
Ad copy wrong.......2005-09-08
Despite the product description, this unit is FireWire only, no USB connections.
Slow DVD-R speed limits this burner........2005-05-01
The new technology to allow for the Lightscribe feature actually slows down this DVD burner! DVD-R speeds are limited to 8X. So, if speed is an issue, look to another burner without Lightscribe to get DVD-R at 16X. If Lightscribe is more important, then go with this one. But beware of what you're getting. I was disappointed to discover I had a crippled DVD burner for the sake of Lightscribe! I'm returning it.

Customer Reviews:
Best bag I could find for the Canon S3 is........2007-04-04
Iv'e been looking at many bags for my new canon S3, and read many reviews on the net. I got a headache looking so many different suggestions and trying to choose one based on others opinion. I decided to go to a local camera shop with my camera and try them all in person. My S3 has the lens adaptor installed and I plan to leave it that way, so I wanted to find the perfect fitting bag. I got to look at the different model Lowepros, as well as the Case Logics and Tamracs.
This Lowepro was the best fitting as well as the best quality of all I looked at. The case is just large enough to hold my camera with lens adaptor attached, a case with 3 filters, the lens hood in the front zipper pouch, usb cable in the perfectly sized side pocket (also great for a cell phone). The camera fits snuggly, but not tooo snug facing down, with just enough room on the side for my 3 filter case. A padded velcro divider seperates the camera and filter case. There is also enough room to store my manual and extra batteries. You would be able to squeeze in a battery charger in the front zipper pouch if not storing the lens hood there. I doubt you could carry anything else but it might be possible. There is a pocket on each side which are equal sizes and fits my LG VX7000 cell perfectly, but couldn't fit anything else there with the phone.
The fit is perfect. The case looks smaller than it does in the pictures here. When my camera is in the bag, the back of the camera is level with the upper zipper like it was made for this camera. The padding is better than all the other bags I looked at, altho the Tamrac wasn't too bad. The Tamrac didn't have little extra storage pouches I wanted, and felt a little floppier if that makes sense.
This bag is very well made. has everything I wanted and is still not too big. I feel it will protect my camera well while looking good and being functional for all I need.
I hope this description helps, I read about all of them here and being so picky, I had to go try them all myself with camera in hand. Everything about this bag says quality. You wont be disappointed...
For Canon PowerShot G3 and basic accessories.......2004-08-20
I'm using this bag for my Canon PowerShot G3 digital camera and all of the little extras like the AC adaptor, USB cable, and CF cards.
I was looking for a bag that would hold everything -- for storage or for traveling somewhere where I'd want to bring all this stuff -- yet in a compact bag. Well, this is it. I looked at lots of bags but this one was by far the best.
In the main compartment there's a removable divider. I have my camera (w/ neckstrap) standing on end on one side with the AC adaptor on the other side. Extra CF cards, USB cable, remote, etc. fit in the exterior zippered pocket.
The bag is very well padded, has a nice carry handle as well as shoulder strap, and is compact while holding everything I need it too. I wouldn't be able to fit anything else in this bag, but then again, I don't need to.
For those looking for a bag to hold the Canon PowerShot G3 (a larger camera and thus harder to find a proper fit) and the basic accessories, this is a great bag. For an on-the-go bag that just holds the Canon G3 w/ CF cards, check out the Tamrac Digital 4 -- it's perfect.
