It also accepts Type I and II CompactFlash, PCMCIA-ATA Type II, video, and S-video inputs. The CD-300 supports JPEG and JFIF file formats.

With print speeds of up to 3 minutes per sheet and printing modes of high quality and panorama, you can determine the degree of quality and speed when producing your own photo prints. Easy-to-use controls located on the front of the unit include the power button, control panel, paper cassette inlet, ink cassette door, CF card slot, PC Card slot, and video-in jack, making it simpler to insert or remove memory cards, paper cassettes, and the ink cassette. This would be a fine printer. It produces lovely prints. The problem? For reasons I cannot fathom, CANON HAS DECIDED *NOT* TO RELEASE A WINDOWS XP DRIVER!! Now that I've upgraded my PC to XP, my Canon is a paperweight.

Don't Purchase -- Canon Not Supporting.......2002-02-23

I own a CD-300. The quality of the prints is quite good -- indistinguishable from a regular 35mm print. However, as another reviewer has stated, avoid this printer. Canon has announced that it will not develop a Windows XP printer driver for the CD-300. To add insult to injury, Canon announced today that it is producing a new 4x6 dye-sub printer, the CP-100, which I have no doubt will be XP-compatible.

Wonderful printer, but cannot use on many computers........2001-12-04

I have this printer and love it. Or used to love it. I just got a new computer which runs Windows XP. You cannot use this printer with a new computer because Canon has arbitrarily decided not to release printer drivers. Their nonsensical stated reason is that the printer does not support USB (universal serial bus). Windows XP could support this printer. It recognizes the printer as new hardware over the parallel printer bus and asks for a driver. Since Canon has decided not to support Canon products there is no usable driver. Canon has only released Windows 95/98 drivers.

Do not buy this printer unless you are willing to keep around a Windows 98 computer with which to use it.

Excellent photos...only print the ones you like!.......2001-01-13

The only limitation on this excellent little printer is the photo sizes. However, contrary to some other models, this unit will print panoramic(4x10) photos as well as 4x6 prints. You can connect it to your television as an external monitor and tweak your pictures or add borders, or you can print an index sheet and decide which you like off of that. Plus, if you use it with a camera that uses a digital print order format( canons and some others) as I do, you can decide which photos you want printed directly from the camera, then insert the card into the printer and press print. It couldn't be any easier! As far as print quality, it really does rival those of a lab, and the paper feels just like it as well.

I used it over Christmas for a huge family get together. We would take photographs with my camera and have them printed in minutes. It's not every day that we get together, so it was really great to let everyone see the photos before they were ever printed on the tv screen and have them choose which they liked. I sincerely recommend this printer for anyone with a digital camera!

Amazing potential!.......2005-06-03

This little gadget has an amazing potential to be terrific. MP3 player, digital voice recorder, AND USB flash memory in one handy little package. WOW! Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to its claims. I bought it primarily for the digital voice recorder and file transfer features. I wanted to record singing rehearsals so I could play them back in the car, and carry working project files back and forth to the office. This gadget sounded like it could cover all the bases and has 1 GB of storage to boot. Now the downside: First, the built-in microphone has no level adjustment or gain control and is easily overloaded. It handles quiet conversation or lecture well, but even my quartet overloaded the mic from 15 feet away. We won't even talk about my 100-member chorus and overload. Second, when the device is connected to your PC, you can set up subfolders and categorize your music, data and voice files. But, from the device menu, you can't access those subfolders. So now I'm in the car and I want to listen to a specific set of learning files that are grouped in a subfolder, but I can't access them. I just have to thumb my way through 93 other files and still find that they aren't all together. It will accept your name for some files, but not for all. If it doesn't like the name you pick, it just calls it Track 12 (I have 4 of those now). Next, the battery life is not nearly what they are claiming. I've been using industrial strength batteries and am only getting about 5 hours of use out of each one. The plastic casing has a nice textured feel to it, and the buttons are easily placed for use. I've only had mine a month though, and already the big "on/off" button on the top is being uncooperative. I bought this unit from "digitalharbor", and while they have been okay in the response department, they don't seem equipped to answer my operational questions, like why can't I access those subfolders and why the on/off button is already crapping out. I guess I shouldn't have expected such amazing features for just over $100. But I was so hopeful. I'm trying to return the device to the seller, since it's not doing what I need it to do. I think I'll keep looking at mini disc.

Best birding binoculars for the price.......2005-11-08

These binoculars compare well to other models for twice or three times the price. I am glad I bought them and have used mine for years without trouble. I wouldn't get cheaper binoculars than these if you want to do birding since you do need a good image. Some people get 10 x 43 for birding to get a larger image but then you need steadier hands to keep the image from being shakey. Since you might loose your binoculars on a trip - might as well loose some that are $350 instead of $1600.

Very easy to use it. It comes with Corel Painter essentials, but I prefer Photoshop. It has excellent pressure detection. I have been using it every day at work (most than a year) and it still works like new. The very cool feature is that you don't need batteries for the pen and mouse.

Wacom Graphire 3 Tablet .......2006-01-09

I have had this Tablet for the past four days and 'am unable to use the Software that came along with it. I tried to install the driver from the driver cd and it wouldn't load in my laptop ( toshiba protege A 200). I downloaded the driver from the Wacom website and that helped but the remaining two CDs with Photoshop Elements 2 , Corel Painter essentials 2, Photo Express 4 se and Photo Explorer 8 se basic fail to load. When I load it into my dvd drive it just fails to auto load and it does not show up in in the explore window.

So I dropped the stylus from my smaller Wacom Usb pad in my foot bath. It ceased working. That's the breaks. Instead of getting just the new pen I decided to get the bigger pad, pen included. So after a three week wait by the supplier, it came. As a graphics pad it works. I looked at the pretty pictures on the box. O ho Thought I, a way to play around with an Ink like software without buying a TabletPc. Well The software doesn't install. It says uninstall previous software. I did, again and again. So I googled around to find a fix which (...) convinced me it wasn't just because I was a bad girl. So I have the big pad. And oops I didnt try it with my Photoshop before writing this. My previous stylus had its bad hair days with the pressure sensitive effect. Didjaknow that Al Hirschfeld used the big pad to do his great cartoons? So my review is like the little girl with the curl in the middle of her forhead, when it s good it is very very good, and when it is bad it is horrid.

Easier to use than I'd imagined.......2005-07-29

At 33 years old, I of course learned to draw with paper and pencil. I tried to use a drawing tablet about ten years ago, and found the technology at that time did not accurately simulate drawing on paper, and I could not get used to it. More and more artists started using tablets, so I thought I should give it a try again. I was very pleasantly surprised to find how far technology has come in this time. I found this tablet easy to use from the moment I plugged it in. Also, the pen itself does not require batteries, which older tablets used to.

I am very pleased with my purchase.

Why did I wait so long to buy this?.......2005-01-19

I have been using my tablet for six months and I could not be happier with it. I had no issues installing it on Windows XP/SP1 and the pen has not worn out with daily use. I do not use the cordless mouse. I purchased the tablet because my wrist hurt when I used a mouse for more that two minutes at a time-- now I can use my computer for hours without any pain!

Good for Amatuers, but not for professionals .......2006-07-24

I love the Wacom line of tablets. At work I have an Intous3 and at home I use a Graphire3. I bought the Graphire3 before work purchased a Intuos3 for me to use. After using the Intous3 I must say the Graphire3 feels like a toy. It's really light (too light) and the controls are not as sensitive as the Intous3. If you're a professional or an aspiring professional save up your money and get the Intous. But, if you're looking for a tablet that will help with carpal tunnel, or you're an amatuer just wanting to occasionally touch up photos then this is the tablet for you.

I bought this for my daughter, who is a junior in college studying graphic design. She was thrilled to receive this. Now, she can easily create her own pictures to use in her designs. A great buy for anybody interested in creating pictures.....
