This camera has an active autofocus system with center one-point measurement that uses PSD and IRED as the measurement element, giving you a focusing range of 1.5 feet to infinity.

The 2.7x zoom lens lets you take close-up images of your friends and family or any subject you want. The LT 270 comes with three print sizes, including panorama so you can capture large group shots or breathtaking landscapes. With the real-image viewfinder, you can switch between all three image sizes (C, H, and P) and know exactly how your image will be framed before you take the picture. You also get information on the camera's settings inside the viewfinder, including: object lens frame, close-up frame, AF frame, standard size mask (C size), panorama size mask (P size). A green "OK to shoot" and an orange "camera shake warning/flash ready" are visible on the LED indicators outside the viewfinder eyepiece.

For those times when you can't use flash photography, like at a concert or museum, you can turn the built-in flash off. The LT 270 also has a slow-sync flash mode that gives your nighttime images sharp foregrounds and gently glowing backgrounds, while the red-eye reduction feature helps eliminate the glowing red eyes flash photography can cause, giving your portraits a more natural look.

Canon's IX (information exchange) feature records the following: date, print aspect ratio, cartridge loading direction, subject brightness, title, magnification, artificial lighting, flash use, flash exposure, and print quality of each image. This information is recorded on the film using a single track, write-only magnetic recording head and is then transferred from the camera to the film. Your photo finisher then uses this information to give you the high-quality prints available.

Too much hype over this camera.......2004-05-27

Alot of my photos taken at night are grainy or blurry. This camera is ok, not worth all the hype it's getting. Not to mention developing doubles will cost you about $15 per roll. I would stick with digital or 35mm over this.

not bad.......2002-12-11

I have owned this camera for about six months now, and overall I like the compact design, the variety of features it offers and the pretty decent zoom. If you also have a Canon EOS, slow your trigger finger, since the autofocus of the elph is not quite as snappy as the one on your high performance SLR. The flash is very limited in range, so this is ideal for indoor shots at smaller parties, but not at bigger events where you want to cover some distance. Twice I have had problems with fresh APS film involuntarily rewinding and popping out of the camera as used even though only one picture had been taken, but that may have been an issue with the film rather than with the camera. The zoom and autofocus use up quite a bit of battery juice, and the power will go pretty much without warning, so if you travel, have extras handy.

Great replacement camera.......2002-08-10

I have a 10 year old Minolta 35-mm camera that I've just about beaten up. So, I borrowed this camera from my sister for my trip to Europe last month. The color and B&W pictures came out great. I especially loved the panoramic feature for those broad Italian landscapes and the great outside shots of Versailles and the Louvre! The only time the pictures didn't come out nice ... and this is my only complaint ... was when I was taking shots in a dark church or taking night shots. More often than not, those pictures came out blurry or grainy. Maybe if I used different film (I only used 400 speed while I was in Europe), or held my hand steadier it wouldn't have been a problem -- I'll have to play around with it a little. Otherwise, it is a great camera! Perfect for traveling -- light, compact, and inconspicuous. In fact, I plan on buying one for myself before my next trip abroad!

Nice Marketing - Bad Results.......2002-03-24

My wife and I are very disappointed in this product. Pictures were very grainy using both 100 & 400 ASA film and the red eye reduction should have been labeled "Give Everyone Intense Red Eyes". Bottom line, don't even think about buying this cameria. It [stunk]!

Small and conveniant!.......2002-03-05

I have one of those very expensive Nikon's, it takes fantastic pictures, but it is big and very heavy! I needed something I could carry around in my purse for those "I wish I had a camera!" moments. Having a son they are a lot more frequent! I decided to try the Elph, and when I got it I was suprised how light and small (maybe I'm just used to big and heavy?) but I decide to hurry and test it to make sure it took decent pictures. When I got my pictures developed I was very pleased. I tried it in low light and bright outdoors, it did well on both. Of course, with all small cameras, because of where the flash is located, you cannot avoid red eye. Only the flashes that detach can, so that is to be expected. Other then that it is perfect for what I need it for. I would certainly suggest it to anyone.

Wish I had bought two!!!.......2006-11-06

I purchased this dvd-player almost a year ago so i can watch all the dvd's i rip into XviD. This player has a lot of options and is so compact and light that it's nearly flawless. Granted, the only flaw that i have come across is that it does not support AC3; but that is only needed if i really want to impress the neighbors and friends w/ the clarity, it's only a superficial requirement. Highly recommend this box for it's MANY options.

Great for SD, Okay for HD.......2007-05-18

I recently purchased an HDV camcorder and noticed the widest angle really wasn't all that wide; nowhere near what I was used to with my SD camcorder. Since I had already blown most of my budget on the camcorder, I thought I would take a $25 chance on this lens.

It was definitely money well spent. I use it primarily with my camera at its widest angle and then screw this on the front to pull out even farther. It's not a fisheye, so lines don't curve much except on the extreme sides of the image. Also, I can get closer in to small subjects like fish and our pet hamsters.

There are a few things to be aware of in HD though:
1) If you use digital stabilization, you may need to turn it off. I found that as the camera jumped around with pixel stabilization, the edges would be viginetted, but not consistently, and it was slightly distracting.
2) While I can zoom through with the lens on, in HD it lacks detail; like you're shooting portrait photography.
3) Near bright lights, you will gets some internal glare.

I have tried this on my old SD camcorder and it works just fine. Kenko doesn't say this will work with HD, so it's not like they are claiming something that's not true. I found it a low cost alternative (it seems like anything with the prefix "HD" on it commands a huge increase in price) and as long as you use this lens within limits, it performs beautifully.

KENKO WIDE ANGLE GREAT FOR CAMCORDER.......2003-09-09

I love mine. It is great with my sony handicam. Really gives me a nice image, and adds so much more action to my vids. Especially in tight locations when I want to show more of the action. Or outdoor landscapes. It has great build quality. And a zoom through ability. Its lens is razor sharp through my video cameras entire zoom range except for the highest zoom in. Only the last 10 percent of the highest zoom, gets blurry. From the wide range and through most of the zoom it is great! Awesome for independant film makers using video or DV cams. Gives a nice 35mm quality - in that you can fit more on your screen. You will love it.

Product not as per display image

You get a pair of StantonTrackmaster II RS Phono Cartridges
What you don't get is the extra needles as displayed in the image of the product on Amazon.

Very misleading......

You also don't get the cartridges packaged flat in the case, but rather they come suspended in the case, as opposed to being securely packaged flat in the case as displayed in the Amazon image.

Suffice to say as a result of the poor product packaging I received my cartridges with the covers meant to protect the needles on the cartridges lying loose inside the product packaging.

I bought two pairs, removed from packaging and case, one cartridge in one of the pairs does not work, have to return one pair for a refund........Looks like Stanton is no longer a reliable brand.....

My advise would be to rather view this product and buy from a shop even if costs a few $ more, that way at least you will be buying what you see unlike the misleading image of the product on Amazon and furthermore hopefully in working order.

Alternatively but another BRAND.

This went into one amazing machine!! The sound quality is wonderful, my old records did not sound this good when they were new!!

Great price considering it's not that much more than I paid for diamond needles way back when!! SO the price value is really one to make you smile.
