Wonderful color for outdoor shots.......2007-08-31

I purchased this printer for the wider format capability for color prints and the economy of seperate ink tanks.
Pro: Excellent greens and flesh tones for outdoor shots; speed is adequate for my purposes and it runs very quiet. The other surprise for me was that it seems to be able to sit a little longer between printing without drying up or having to do head cleans. I don't always get to print with it as often as I would like as I use another printer for my everyday printing. The colors are pretty acurate, I do not see a lot of shifting one way or the other. My 11 x 17 prints are suitable for framing
Cons: I have had this around a year and find no problems with it at all. The inks are stated not to be archival if this is a problem for you, but my photos are holding up fine.

Great Photo printer!.......2007-08-01

I'm a Canon authorized service technician, and an avid photographer, and I love this printer! It's a little more costly than taking your card to Walgreens or somewhere like that, but the quality is equal to or better than those prints, and I have the option to edit and print when I want.
Using Canon ink and paper (and some other brands of papers) this printer gives no banding, smooth gradations, and awesome color re-creation.
I highly recommend this printer.

I REALLY hate to downgrade such a beautiful product - but the prints FADE badly.......2007-07-07

It's a fabulous printer, easy to use, forgiving. Out of the box, your prints will be awesome.

Prints not exposed to sun hold up beautifully. I have a book full of 8.5x11 prints made 18 months ago and they are still 100% fabulous. Spectacular color and detail and so on.

But prints that are untreated, uncovered and exposed to ANY amount of sun will fade drastically VERY fast. I'm talking about serious fading in less than a few weeks. If exposed to full sun, I wouldn't be surprised if they started to fade in a day, just like the cheap old plain paper inkjet prints of 10 years ago.

I've been careful to use Canon ink and Canon paper and match the proper paper to what I've chosen to print on.

I wonder if Canon, which I thought had production in Japan, is maybe getting products from China now. I don't trust anything from China, though I buy plenty of their products.

Prints wonderfully. You get what you pay for. This is the printer to buy. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I have been using my i9900 for nearly two years, and I have to rate it absolutely totally excellent in quality.

However, it's not a cheap printer to buy, and supplies (paper and ink) are expensive as well. But the results are stunning!

I am a professional photographer, and I regulary make 4x6 to 13x19 borderless glossy, matte, or satin prints that rival the very best you can buy from a custom lab.

And it's fast. A 4x6 is out in 30 seconds or so, and a 13x19 print takes only a couple of minutes.

Also, in the nearly two years I've owned this printer, it has never ever clogged! Of course, I only use Canon brand inks, ans I always change them as soon as it says they need changing. I think that makes a difference.

This is truely a great printer.

Please do not missunderstand the rating. The 2300 Magenta Toner 1.5 is an excellent product. Toner is high quality and performs well.

BUT BUY THIS ITEM AND YOU ARE BEING ROBBED!!!

The Konica/Minolta standard toner is only rated for 1500 pages at 5% coverage. (You usage will likey be a substancially lower page count if you are printing graphics on a regular basis, but we'll use their numbers for standard comparision purposes.) The HIGH capacity toner replacement cartridge is a far better buy. First at the listed price here on Amazon at: Konica Minolta 1710517-007 Magenta Toner Cartridge ASIN: B00006LHSZ, is more expensive at $120 vs $70. But the cartridge is rated at 4500 pages at 5% coverage. In other words 3 times the toner for about 67% of the cost, think of this as a buy two get one free sale. (And sorry Amazon, this cartridge can be found for as low as $105 (shipping inculded) on other sites giving you a savings of 50% (or more if using the Amazon price) ($105 vs $210).

Remember that while Konica/Minolta makes a high quality product, you,the consumer, deserves better than this item. Do not settle for this underfilled, underperforming, overly priced "standard" product when the manufacturer offers a fully filled, exact same quality "high capacity" product at what amounts to a bargin price.

Enjoyable experience so far.......2007-08-21

I purchased these as a midrange, mid price option to use at home while I work.

When I got them, I realized that I got a bit more than I expected; well put together, comfortable padding that isn't vinyl so it won't stick to your face while you are listening (or peel off as in the case of my old headsets.)

As for the sound, everyone is always going to have different opinions because everyone hears at different levels. For me, these headsets brought forward notes that were otherwise muddled in my old ones. Voices are rich and clearer, even the little breathe drawn in at the end a line is noticeable. The bass is solid but not overwhelming giving a pleasurable experience rather than a deafening pound throughout my head.

I can't say they keep out all the sound from the outside world, but really, I don't think any headset can truly offer that to a good ear. These make a good attempt at giving you a bit of one on one with your favorite artists.

Too easily overdriven, not enough bass.......2007-06-08

The first time I used these headphones I overdrove them, trying to get a satisfying amount of bass out of them. I overdrove them with a yamaha 50 watt/channel reciever via the headphone jack - with minor clipping only, no major distortion. They now crackle louder than my popcorn maker (the microwave oven) even when driven with my computer soundcard. They are great if you love the "treble control" at or near max. I know I should have purchased a studio monitor set of 'phones now. The SPL of these 'phones is great if you are driving them with a mp3/portable CD they may be fine. My 1981 set of Koss headphones ($24.95 at the time)are far superior. I have yet to obtain warranty coverage - and would advise anyone thinking of buying these that enjoy ANY music with a decent amount of bass, including classical music with demanding passages, avoid these headphones. 0 stars in my book.

Listen Up!!!

These babies are some of the best from my experience, which is rather limited. I can say, though, that I've heard some things on songs that I didn't realize were there, for instance:
The song, "the downward spiral, the bottom", by nine inch nails off, "further down the spiral" is an amazing song anyway, and when I heard it through these phones, I heard sounds coming, not only from my right and left, but from underneath me, and from within my head, as well as from an undefined place away from me. It was the weirdest thing. Of course those sounds came to me from the right and left, but the headphones brought out those strange dimensions to the music.

All frequencies are superb, and the bass is full. Good for Metal, Country, really anything not too soft, as it is an open design, so real quiet music tends to be drowned out by outside noise, like my vacuum.

One caveat: the cord is substantial, 10 feet long. I would rather have a 4 foot cord or so, but that's simply because I use it with my portable, not my home stereo.

Overall, very good and comfortable headphones.

My ears have been opened!.......2007-03-09

I did a ton of careful homework before ordering this pair of earphones. I have always had a pair of earphones, but never really thought about sound quality until I started realizing what I was hearing on my surround sound system was not what I heard on my current pair of earphones. When I first tried on these earphones, I thought I was not going to truly notice a difference, but WOW, talk about a change! The open style of these earphones don't make the music sound like it is being crammed into your head, so it really lets me enjoy my work while treating my ears to smooth crisp highs and great lows. I hear more, feel more and my ears do not feel sore afterwards. Much better than earbuds when working at a desk, or simply watching a great movie! I definitely recommend these to anyone!
