I bought the Canon PIXMA iP4000 Photo Printer in November 2004 and used it nearly everyday, mostly printing photos & CD lables. It has NEVER jammed exremely reliable. RARELY used it to print text but it did a great job even on that. a few days ago was temped to buy a Epson R380 for $125, because it had good reviews from owners, had all the bells and whistles. But strangle the Epson R280 is the same printer less the 3.5" view screen & card reader. Yet it got terrible reviews, go figure. it selling on Epson site for $59.99. To make a long story short, SOLD IT ON EBAY $125.00 5 minutes after it was listed. The Canon PIXMA iP4300 Photo Printer also has great reviews planned to buy it as a replacement, but instead opted to buy the newly released Canon PIXMA iP4500 Photo Printer , which is said to print photos wirelessly from even your cell phone. This is a great printer that I got for a great price. It looks beautiful, and prints beautiful pictures. It is a photo quality printer, it closes all up and has different paper tray options, which is nice, and it even does duplex printing. It seems to be pretty fast to me. I don't even print all that much, but I'm glad I bought this printer.

Absolutely great pictures.......2007-02-19

I did a lot of research before buying this printer. Canon has some models that are much more expensive, and possibly better, but the Pixma 4000 does a magnificent job of printing 8X10 photographs. I have a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 722C beside the Canon, kept because I expected to use the HP for black and white standard letters. It is easy keeping the plain paper in the HP and the glossy photo paper in the Canon, but the Canon is so much faster that I am beginning to use it for almost everything.

Great printer.......2006-04-02

I have used this printer for over six months and have found no problems with it. Photo quality is outstanding.
I had used HP printers for many years and got tired of changing the tri-color cartiages when only one color was empty. With the Canon you only replace the cartiage that is empty at a much lower price. The Canon cartiages use clear plastic so you actually see how much ink is remaining. The only negitive thing I can think of is that you cannot trade in empty cartiages at OfficeMax for a free ream of paper.

Grandchild are enjoying..........2007-05-07

Bought this for grandkids for a long vacation trip in the car, they tried it out before the trip and everything was good. 14 hour car trip and they watched movies all the way and every night for a week before bed and back home in car again. Picture is great and they were happy with sound without ear plugs. No problems so far. I like the looks of case and it is well built. They bought a case to hang it over the back seat in the car. Picture looks better from several feet away. Recommend it.

DVD Player Review.......2007-01-16

I received the player for Christmas. I was extremely happy with the DVD player. The buttons are on the face of the player and are easy to locate. The screen size and picture quality is good. The sound quality is O.K. but is greatly improved with headphones.
The only problem that I had was that I received a defective power/re-charge cord. I called Phillips and they sent me one at no charge. It works perfectly well now.

I think that this player was well worth the money. It functions easily, the picture is good,and the sound is very good with the use of earphones, less so without. My one complaint is that it didn't come with a carrying case.

Very good quality at a reasonable price.......2006-12-26

I have used this player on several airplane trips (my main reason for purchasing it) and find the display quite good. If you are playing a FS DVD it will automatically scale the format to WS, which is not a terrible issue, but it does tend to make faces a bit broader than they should be. Of course this is not an issue with WS DVDs.

I never use the built-in speakers, as it comes with two headphone jacks which allow you to hear excellent sound depending on the quality of your headphones. For my most recent trip I experimented with a low-cost pair of noise-reduction headphones and that made the whole experience less fatiguing as I didn't have to keep the volume up so high to drown out the engine noise. Occasionally the player would start then go back to the startup menu for no reason, but once engaged it played through the DVD completely. I bought this a year ago for $250 so the current lower price is a plus.

Bad DVD Player- poor customer service.......2006-08-03

I bought the Philips Pet 805 for my mom for her birthday (she often takes my daughter on trips and I thought it would help in the car) . It got some use but nothing too heavy. About 3 months after I bought it it started acting funny, soon it no longer played any DVDs. When I contacted Philips I got the usual phone runaround, the warranty is expired, I'm sorry sir etc. I have now written a letter to Philips hoping for some help with my $200 piece of junk. Buyer beware!
