Customer Reviews:
Outstanding Digital Camera.......2007-09-05
I purchased this camera in July 2005. I have taken thousands of pictures with this camera. It's easy to operate. The camera has a lot of functionality to it. It's great for those of us who don't want to move up to a DSLR.
In the two-plus years I've owned the camera, I've not had one problem with it. It just survived a trip to the races at the dirt track in Wheatland, MO.
Perfect for amature enthusiasts who want a little more control over their Photo.......2007-08-23
The Canon Powershot G6 is a nice amera, Physically the camera looks a bit different than the G5, the G6 is narrower and stubbier. The extra Girth supported by the G6 makes it easier to handle than its predecessors. especially those with large hands like me.
What i like about this camera is the 9 point auto focus point, which it got from the higher end SLR professional cameras. Normally, to focus on a subject one has to aim using the center of the camera, where the focusing point is. but what if you want to put some artistic flare into your photo, and what if you have to subjects that are not aligned? by having the 9 auto focus point spread throughout the viewing area, when you press the shutter half way, the camera instantly focuses on all the subjects. it instantly puts squares over what you have in the frame indicating That it has locked on. it will then adjust the settings and the light to give you the best possible shot. The downside of this camera is that it is expensive.
Whether your an amateur enthusiast or a serious Photographer on the verge of going pro the Canon G6 is for you.
The best camera ever owned!.......2007-07-16
This is my third digital camera I have owned, and it is by far the best. It takes wonderful pictures (excellent I must say!) and the rechargeable batteries do last a long time without having to recharge them all the time. I can take about a hundred pictures before I think about recharging them. Yes, I do take pics with the LCD on. I do not find that it is slow turning on and getting ready for the first shot. Mine is really fast. Also, buy a compactflash card that has a 20 MB/sec sequential read/write speed (SanDisk SDCFX3-2048-901 2 GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card). With this type of card you will be able to take your next shot immediately.
Love this camera.......2006-04-04
I was in the market to buy a new camera last year and walked into BestBuy alone just browsing. I have an older EOS Canon Rebel 35mm Camera from 1992, and I loved that camera too.
So this was my second camera purchase, and was not sure what I wanted, but I knew what I wanted to take pictures of. I take this camera everywhere, vacations, visiting friends and family, take pictures of scenery, sporting events, and people.
There are a lot of options on this camera that I don't know how to use, but can't wait to learn them too. I upgraded my memory card to 1 GB so I can take a lot of pictures and not have to worry about running out of room.
When I travel or go to a sporting event, I take anywhere from 75 to 200 piictures. I get a lot of compliments on the camera and the photos it takes are great!
Take the "pro-sumer" title seriously.......2006-03-25
This camera has been called a "pro-sumer" model and you should really take that title seriously. The quality of the pictures that it takes are just as good as a professional digital camera of the same resolution. The trade off is that it is really not happy being thrown in a bag (or big pocket, if it fits). Why? Because Canon have given it a really annoying power-on switch that is guaranteed to turn the camera on 90% of the time when you're moving it to or from a bag. To compound this problem, the lens extends (in your bag), pushing off the lens cap and leaving it open for possible damage. So, if you think of this as a professional camera, to be kept in a real camera-case, you'll probably be okay. If you're somebody, like me, who likes to throw his camera in a bag or pocket, you're going to be annoyed by the power switch. That said, I do LOVE the quality of the pictures and all control that the camera gives you over every aspect of taking them.
CONS: stupid power-on switch that always catches and turns camera on; lens cap is kind of loose and falls off easily; widest angle is maybe a little too telephoto still (around 35mm?)
PROS: awesome pictures; tons of controls all over the outside of the camera allowing you to control a lot without having to resort to menus; professional features including flash hot-shoe and replaceable lens; great battery life; awesome pictures

Customer Reviews:
Big, Loud.......2005-07-20
These speakers are huge, big and loud. Did I mention they were loud?
The cabinets are thinly constructed and very light but still seem to be stiff and sufficient to dampen the monstrous 15" woofer's vibration, though the back does reverberate a bit when you have the volume up. The depth of the speaker is oddly narrow so they're easy to tip over, be careful. The front removeable cover is no-frills black cloth and the speaker is quite understated, which is a good thing since they're huge.
Pair these up with a good 100+ watt/ch amplifier and you don't need a subwoofer.

Customer Reviews:
Crappy Support.......2002-11-02
I ordered the Scan Maker with high hopes due to the outstanding ratings that I reviewed on many sites. I am not a techie, and was impressed by those reviews. However, once I received the scanner and called for help in setting it up, my hopes declined dramatically. You have 3 options for support. 90 days free basic support, $15 per incident for "advanced troubleshooting", and email support. There is also what is called "General Consulting" support @ $30 per call up to 30 minutes, and $1 per minute after that.
None of the calls are to 800 numbers.
The support you get is non-existent. The operators ask what is the problem, then they immediately send you a pre-written email. Which in my case, wasn't what I needed. After calling again (at my cost during the 90 days free help) I got another person who sent me a different email. That did help, but it didn't answer all my questions.
The Auto Document Feeder is weird. The primary "part" needed to guide the paper and cover the glass during the auto-feed is a little plastic piece that is not easy to put in place.
Don't even get me started on the manual and what it says about how the feeder is supposed to work.
Maybe you need to be a techie to operate the user-friendly, easy to operate scanner.
Needless to say, I'll be trying HP next.
Horrible Customer support and scanner quality.......2001-05-03
Impossible is the word to describe trying to get in touch with Microtek customer service. Not only is the product extremely unreliable, but customer service and technical support would rather you not call them if you have problems. I have owned two Microtek scanners, both products not supported by the manufacturer

Panasonic's 36-inch CT-36E13 uses a PanaBlack fine-pitch picture tube, which counteracts distracting ambient light to help maintain high contrast and accurate color reproduction. The feature-rich and remarkably affordable set comes in a silky silver finish and boasts a host of program-enhancing audio/video conveniences. The CT-36E13's three-line comb filter further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt).
Velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas.
The set's horizontal and vertical edge correction sharpens the edges of pictured objects, working in conjunction with the dynamic sharpness control to produce clean, crisp images and reduce video noise. An onboard wideband video amplifier expands the video signal frequency response to more than 10 MHz, granting a horizontal resolution of 600 lines (maximum).
Through channel labeling, you can assign an ID of one to four characters (such as KIRO or WNET) to up to 30 different channels. This feature comes in handy when cable systems assign different channel numbers to familiar network stations. Channel banner captures information transmitted with each program and places it onscreen in a semitransparent banner. This information includes TV station identification and the V-Chip rating for the current program.
The set gives you stereo audio (with 5 watts per channel) from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. BBE High-Definition Sound improves speech intelligibility and restores the dynamic range of compressed musical passages.
A component-video input grants optimum connection with a compatible DVD player, while standard composite- and S-video inputs accommodate all DVD players. You can choose between two sets of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs for extra convenience, as when hooking up a camcorder or gaming console. A rear audio (switchable fixed-/variable-level) output lets you hook the set up with an integrated amplifier or surround receiver. The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto off, and a universal remote control.
What's in the Box
TV, remote control, remote batteries, and user's manual.

Best bang for the buck - $599 is a GREAT price.......2004-01-13
If you are still in the market for a quality tube tv, look no further. This model offers an excellent, crisp picture and the surround sound stereo speakers are the best I've ever heard from a standard tv. Really no need to line it through an external stereo or theater system unless you want the real cinema experience. It may be heavy and little bulky but get an appropriate stand and it will look great. Panasonic continues to impress with high quality electronics.

Controlling The PS2.......2006-04-10
There are just so many different kinds of controllers for everybody if you own a Playstation 2 system. Mad Catz does deliver quite well with that in mind. Their Pro Advanced Controller works like a charm. It is simple and easy to operate for anybody who needs a spare controller. It also is a little cheaper than the actual cost of a standard Playstation 2 controller. While so many people would rather consider a Sony PS2 controller, most third-party companies don't give out adequate controllers as well. This controller Mad Catz created for the PS2 is a really good purchase.

DON'T BUY IT! A BIG WASTE OF MONEY!.......2006-03-09
From day 1 this controller did nothing but vibrate. There was no way to control this and no way to turn it off. Don't waste your time or money on this one!
Better than the standard PS1&2 pads........2006-01-11
The Playstation "Dual Shock" pads were great, so much that PC gamepad companies tried to copy them (poorly). But there were two things about them that drove me nuts; A) The D-Pad was 4 plastic "diamonds" which hurt my thumbs and made diagonals hard to do (can't play fighting games without diagonals!) and B; The Start And Select buttons were tiny and too close to the analog sticks. With the 58226 you get a REAL d-pad,
the kind that's been around since the SNES and Sega days, you can actually hit diagonals! And the start/select are in a more easily reached spot. This has "macro," I'd rather have "turbo" but whatever. I recommend this to emu and PC gamers too, just get a Lik-Sang adapter and Joy2Key software and you'll have a rugged, fully mappable PC gamepad to outlast all others. Forget flimsy PC gamepads that don't have enough buttons.
Junk. Buy any other controller for your PS2........2005-05-18
Worthless controllers made by a company that doesn't stand behind its products. In fact, I would give this product 0 stars if I could.
I bought 2 of these contollers. Within 2 days of purchase, I started noticing problems on one controller's left analog stick. (It wouldn't respond when moved left.) Four days after that, the other one's left stick started move the character by itself. It was quite amusing to watch characters moving in circles by themselves.
Since then, the start button went on one. The other's 4-way controller's up stopped working. Sometimes buttons are slow to respond.
I sent an email to the Company, Madcatz, for information and/or an address to get these obvious defective controllers replaced and got no response.
Will never waste money on anything this company has to offer.
It has replaced my official sony controller!.......2005-01-26
I've had this controller for months now, and am going to buy another as a back-up because I love it so much. The rubberized grips make it easy to hold, even for long hours of gaming. The buttons are all responsive, I haven't noticed any interference with gameplay. It definitely isn't for tiny hands, but it fits comfortably in the hands of most guys and girls I've had use it. I also like that it feels durable - it's not a lightweight piece of cheap plastic, so I know it'll survive through button mashing and whatever else comes!

Customer Reviews:
More than I expected........2000-02-18
The Kenwood XD-A701 has several features that one doesn't expect in an inexpensive home theater system. First, it has Full Dolby Pro-Logic and the speakers that that requires. It lacks only a powered subwoofer, but it has a center speaker as well as two surround sound speakers. The two surround sound speakers are designed to be placed next to or behind the listener, and Kenwood has even had the foresight to provide enough speaker wire to reach and a slot on the back of the speakers for wall mounting. The system features a changeable sound delay (from 15 to 30 ms) so that surround sound effects coincide with the sound coming from the front speakers. The system is also equipped electronically to either upgrade the speakers or add a powered subwoofer. The 3 CD changer works quickly and allows the user to change CDs while another is playing. It also has modes for shuffling 1 CD, shuffling all the CDs, programming on 1, 2 or 3 CDs, repeating songs, or playing all the CDs through. The system has an attractive and easy to use display that includes full scrolling text. The dual jogs allow quick movement through menus and submenus once you get used to it. The sound control is impressive, with four genre settings, 4 computer controlled ambient sound emulations, 3 surround sound features, 3 programmable equalizer settings, and a even a flat equalizer setting. The dual cassette is able to be synchronized with the CD player for making mix tapes or recording whole CDs (or a series of CD selections). It is fully reversible, does song searching, and has Dolby noise reduction. As a whole, the unit is sharp looking and solidly built. If placed on the floor, however, it would be easy to apply too much pressure to the CD drawer and break it when it is open. The remote is complex enough to make navigation through the unit's features fairly simple. Oh, and the sound is very good. If you are a frequent rap listener, an added subwoofer will be necessary to pick up those 20-40Hz sounds that you can feel more than hear. I've played rock, jazz, and classical on this unit and it sounds like the artists are right there. Raiders of the Lost Ark sounds fantastic too. I expected a good unit from Kenwood, and I got a very good to excellent one.
