Can't think of a negative thing about this camera. When combined with # Pro Power 2 GB / 2048 MB Secure Digital SD Card this setup just doesn't get any better. The only option I want now is the underwater case for it.

This is my favorite new toy!!!! I got this from a friend for about $80!!!!! Im sure he wish he would of never sold me such a great product for such a cheap price, he was more interested in some Sony camera which claimed to have more pixels or whatever. Either way i am so happy with this product, the pictures come out crystal clear (day or night). and the rotating back screen is amazing, it automatically rotates the way the camera is being held! I mean what can't this camera do???????

Great little camera.......2007-07-27

I had a Nikon Coolpix before which took great outdoor photos but was nearly useless indoors.
The Canon has better performance in all regards: better colors outdoors, reasonable pictures indoors, easier-to-use user interface (still not crystal clear), longer battery life, very quick power on (GREAT feature). We're all quite happy with the Canon.

I love the elph!.......2007-07-21

I used to have the canon elph advantix before digital came out. I really liked it especially the fact it had panoramic. However, it broke one day when I couldn't get my film out. It wouldn't rewind and it was jammed.

When I found out Canon came out with a digital elph I had to check it out. It still had panoramic, now call stich or stich assist. I have now had it for almost a year and I love it. It's compact, lightweight, takes clear pics and is pretty easy to use. There are alot of different features but for basic use it's easy. I have used it in Hawaii and Italy. My sister carried it around in her pocket almost the whole time in Italy. It took amazing pics.

The screen on the back is bigger than any other I have seen out there. It's great to be able to really see what you are taking. The screen is a little fuzzy when taking the shot but when you look at it afterwards it's clear. Good color too. I have taken rainy shots, night, sunset, moving and movie. So far so good.

Also if you are in the need of a great printer I really researched that and bought at new one at the beginning of the year. I got the canon MP530. It prints crystal clear pics and is an all in one too.

I had this camera for almost a year now and I have loved it. The 3" screen is awesome, especially for someone like me who likes to show kid pictures to families and friends. It is also a great gift for the elderlies!

This drive has a lot of features packed onto a small unit.

Pros:
FM Radio.
Plays mp3s (including vbr).
small size.
backlit screen.
Plugs right into usb slot.
Headphones have volume control and actually sound okay.

Cons:
Drag and drop copies files out of order in windows, so mp3s will play out of order--unit does not sort alphabetically. To get around this I copy them to the unit using a DOS prompt, which copies them one by one
Forgets your settings (including track volume) and what song you were playing when you turn it off.
Lousy bass response.
No WMA support.
Feels very cheap and fragile.
Hold switch does not prevent buttons from being pressed--only prevents deletion of data from the unit. The former is more useful, though why couldn't it just do both?
No clip of any sort.

For the size and price - A Great Deal!.......2006-02-21

I purchased this unit from "the city of circuits" on 2/19/06. One of the stores in my area was sold out, but the other one had 12 in stock. Mine was on sale for $299.

As this unit was replacing a 17" old tv in my bedroom entertainment center, I didn't want to spend too much or get one too big. This unit fit the bill in every category.

I have satellite at my house and the S-Video cable (not included) turns out an exceptional picture. The colors are vivid and I don't see any distortion you might expect from a flat-panel television. The rear was surprisingly not as deep as I imagined. I did have to cut out the fiberboard back of my entertaiment center to accomodate the larger unit. I also had to move my EC from the wall another inch or two to accomodate the deeper back, but overall, it's nothing major.

If you're like most people these days, your TV runs its sound through a stereo system, so having massive speakers on the side is nothing but a waste of space. That's one reason I liked this unit. The built-in speakers only take up about two inches (if that) on each side.

I'm not using the menu or controls at all since I control everything from my satellite unit, but it all appears to work very simply.

One note of warning: This unit has no real handles to help you pick it up, and the box it comes in has the handles located to to the edge of one side. You really need two people to move this unit around.
I'm very satisfied with this TV.

The Xerox M940 is a high-quality printer, copier, and scanner in one compact package. It's rated to print and copy at 12 ppm in black and 7 ppm in color. Plus, it features 1,200 x 1,200 dpi printing resolution, 600 x 600 dpi scanning resolution with 30-bit color depth, and a flatbed design to accommodate originals of many shapes and sizes.

To set up the M940, we followed the Getting Started guide--carefully unpacking the unit, inserting the two print heads and four print cartridges, and connecting the power and USB cables. Then we followed the driver software's onscreen instructions to install additional components and third-party utilities. The setup process was easy but unusually lengthy at about 30 minutes.

To test the M940, we scanned, copied, and printed a variety of documents in both color and monochrome using all of the printer's modes (draft, express, normal, and best) and printing on plain, coated, and photo papers. Prints and copies in draft mode were faded and grainy and showed unwanted banding (a horizontal striping effect). Express mode brightened the color and reduced the banding. Normal mode eliminated the banding and greatly reduced the graininess. Best mode provided sharp edges, vivid and more accurate color, and excellent transition from one shade to another. However, in all modes, reds appeared more orange and pinks more purple than they did in the original. Text documents showed similar improvements from draft mode to best, with the latter being only slightly distinguishable from the output of a laser printer.

Printing speeds were good but nowhere near the manufacturer's rating. A single heavy-color copy required 30, 39, 75, and 135 seconds, respectively, for each of the four modes. A single monochrome copy required 21, 33, 50, and 68 seconds. For day-to-day operation using express mode, you can expect about 4.3 monochrome and 2.6 color pages per minute. These results are comparable to those of other multifunctions in this class. The M940 required several minutes to print photographs in best mode, but on photo paper the results are excellent--definitely worth the wait.

The M940 comes with QuickLink III so that you can fax your scanned originals or send them via email. (Note that you cannot dial numbers directly from the unit's control panel, as no keypad is included.) It also includes a document cover, input paper tray, output tray, multipack ink cartridges, print heads, USB cable, power cord, software CD-ROM, user's guide, getting started guide, and USB installation card. Requires enormous patience.......2005-08-15

This machine worked okay at first, but then the colors began to streak and fail, and long after the color printing capability died, the machine still occasionally ran out of colored ink. This was a real inconvenience because all I used it for was a B&W copier, scanner, and B&W printer. This past week, it ran out of magenta ink, and now refuses to print, even in black and white. There must be a way to bypass the ink sensor and continue printing in black and white -- does anyone know how to fool it? Yesterday I found that nobody (local) carries those color ink cartridges anymore, so unless I can make it _think_ there's magenta ink, the machine is now USELESS.

I can't believe I wasted $200 for the machine and $72 to replace all print cartridges and have not been able to print a single document. I'll never buy another Xerox product as long as I live. Burn me once shame on you... Burn me twice, I'm an Idiot!!

Excellent Machine for the money.......2004-03-05

I have had this machine since 1999 and it has not fail. Used for desktopp publishing the key is not to leave the cartridges go totally empty. I find I get 750 sheets from the black cartridge and over the expected limits on the heads. It is used primarily as a copier or attached to a sytem running win 98 SE. For the money I found it to be very practical. I wish Xerox would continue to make inkjet multi-function machines like this.

A good hobby item.......2004-02-09

Certainly not worth the asking price, if bought on Amazon. Get it for $10-$15 (plus shipping) on e-bay from customers who lost patience to make it work.

This a re-bardged Sharp product with Xerox software and probably firmware. Xerox got out of inkjet business two years ago and provides no phone support or warranty. They published the XP drivers, which are absent on the CD, however, installation is tricky, sometimes you have to manually replace "USB Printer Support" under USB controller chain in device manager by "Xerox Workcentre M940". Even after this the drivers do not support 1200 DPI still advertized (the merchants assume that everybody is using Win98SE). Maybe it was removed because the USB connection was too slow to privide the bandwidth under XP. It still prints OK under XP at 600 DPI. If it looses its mind sometimes, just pull out the powder plug, and it will get back eventually. Some geeks install Sharp drivers to get 1200 DPI back, but then the scanning functionality is lost.

The cartridges are somewhat more difficult to refill, top is covered by foil, not plastic. The hole has to be on the side, so use duct tape to cover it, not scotch. The bar on front is scanned by the printer, if you spoil it spilling ink, just glue some white paper on top. Refill any cartridge that is showing low, or you risk to bake your head!

The heads are separate and can be obtained for $30 each, black and color. They seem to be more sensitive to clogging than Cannon heads. Moderate cloggs can be removed under a stream of hot water. For more serious cloggs use propanol, maybe with some ammonia added, you can put this mix into an empty cartridge to soak the heads for several days. A lot of those machines are sold because the owners cannot get rid of cloggs and do not want to pay for a new head.

Scanning is OK for business applications. You can make decent color copies, as long as your print heads work.

If you do not want to refill the cartridges and do not want to mess with de-clogging the heads, look somewhere else. For the rest of us, it is a good object to train persistence and patience.

To be fair, I don't know how the unit works because the one I received from AllStarsOnline did not work at all. It was being sold "as is". It never powered up out of the box. I guess I should have known by the inexpensive price and the unwillingness of the seller to test the unit.
Nevertheless, the seller did send all cables, accessories and manuals for the unit. They even included a couple extra print cartridges. I just wish I hadn't spent the extra $20 dollars to expedite the shipping.
