This is the secondMacvision MP3 player that I've purchased. I loved mine so much I got one for my 11 year old. He loves it. It's small and holds more than enough songs (he's got over 50). It also has a voice recording feature that he loves - something his brothers I-pod shuffle doesn't have.

The great thing is with the price - I'm not as concerned about him loosing it.

For the $ I was really impressed with the sound-I take it jogging walking mowing anywhere-fits in a purse easily-and 1 little AAA battery! It was my 1st mp3 player so I didn't want to invest alot till I knew which features I wanted-GREAT for the Cost-sound is great-and easy to load songs-etc-also got a rebate with mine

This MP3 player was a waste of time and money (fortunately only a little money). The control buttons are too small and the "three lines" of text require a magnifying glass to read. Worst of all, while the voice recording function did work, it would not store or playback any music files.

The instruction booklet was written in very poor English and the instructions provided were so brief that even when the poor English could be deciphered they were useless. Online "help" is nonexistent. The only saving grace of this MP3 was that it cost very little.

This "MP3 player" is not recommended at any price; even if another was offered to me for free I would not accept it.

How does it work?.......2006-03-09

This product came with an installation cd that didn't work in my gift reciepent's computer and didn't fit in either of my laptops. The web page was a joke with absolutely no guidance either. I have since returned it and I am awaiting my credit because at least six people attempted and could not easily get this thing to successfully work.

Broken Glass.......2006-02-20

The glass screen broke when my son had this in his pocket. I asked him if he had banged it or fell down or anything like that and he didn't think so. He was happy with it until that happened. Normally I would think that glass was better than plastic, but in this case I think plastic would be better or thicker stronger glass. It still works, but it is almost impossible to read the screen.

Perfect Secondary/Backup Hard Drive for Laptops!.......2004-04-30

I have been using Maxtor external hard drives for just over a year now and have made recommendations to family and colleagues which have resulted in them buying many of them as well. So with experience with close to a dozen hard drives, we have not had any problems and have nothing but praise for the drives.

First off, with internal hard drive prices for laptops so expensive and so difficult to install, external hard drives that use firewire (IEEE1394) are a great option. These hard drives use both firewire and USB, so you can take the information and hot swap it among multiple computer (like a thumb drive) or keep it plugged in to a single computer for use a secondary hard drive. I have found virtually no speed difference between accessing files on the external hard drive versus the internal.

The automatic backup feature, makes the hard drive all that much more useful. It comes bundled with Dantz Retrospect Express program which is an easy-to-use option for automatically backing up just what you want with a touch of a button. I backup often, usually just punching the button as I go meet to clients. It usually finishes the automated process by the time I return. Because backing up is so easy to do, when I did lose the hard drive on one of my laptops, I barely missed a beat after I got it replaced, simply restoring the drive image to make my new laptop look just like my old one.

I highly recommend Maxtor external hard drives.
