Customer Reviews:
Very frustrating to setup and jammed immediately.......2007-05-13
It is not possible to get the label software to run without crashing under Windows XP SP2; wasted several hours trying to make it work. Downloaded the updates from Casio's website but the application still would not start or would start and immediately crash. Had to install Windows 2000 under VMWare and finally I could get the software would run. However I was not able to print to the device (even though it had installed correctly).
To make matters worse, even in manual mode the cartridge ink ribbon jammed on the first try. Tried a different cartridge and it also jammed. Returned it for another and exactly the same issue occurred. This product is terrible! I finally gave up and purchased Brother PT-1950 Desktop 5-Line PC-Ready Labeler instead.
This Thing Is A Piece of Junk.......2007-02-23
Ribbon jammed and tore the second time I used it. They've sealed the cartridge so you can't patch it. Save your money!
Labeling made easy.......2006-11-03
This gives my CDs a prefessional look and I like the ease with which I can made professional labels. I was disappointed that it would not work with Windows XP so I have to use it "free standing."
Product Development too Rushed.......2006-08-17
I have owned this unit for a year and a half.
As a Label Maker (3 stars):
While ALL label printers are made to consume as much tape as possible, this one does allow you to adjust the length of the tape so that you don't print 6 inches of tape to print out the word CAT for example. The computer interface lets you construct the label format, font, letter size on your PC and see what you are about to print. This PC application is good, BUT, half the time, the unit cannot recongize that you actually have a label cartridge inserted into the print slot, and tells you over and over that there is no print cartridge in the machine, when indeed there is....Very Frustrating. Right now I have a bunch of un-usable cartridges in my PC drawer...
As a CD/DVD Labeller (1 star):
This unit will print logos on Discs, but you must know how to load your logo via a small 23 x 23 pixel black and white image into the print session. The image print quality is not all that large or good, but the straight text printing is pretty good on CD's DVD's once you get past the first disk. The CD/DVD labeller requires an adapter unit and a separate tape, and there is a compartment provided for this thankfully. BUT the label tape generally is not in good shape when you first put it in, so your first DVD/CD label will be spotty at best, until the unit gets to good tape. This means that every other CD/DVD you print on will have some splotchy letters on them, unless you can save all your DVD's/CD's and label them all in one session, wherein only the first disc will have a splotchy printout.
Overall the PC print interface for discs is very confusing, and tries so hard to be icon driven, that it cannot convey to the user what must be done to achieve the desired disc format. Complexity through Over-Simplicity. I have learned to just settle for whatever the unit prints on my discs...at least I have them labelled.
Finally, the standard USB high speed cable is too short. So your already crowded PC desk has ANOTHER resident to contend with modem, wireless router, printer, speakers, monitor and your favorite picture of Elvis. This is just too large a unit to have sitting within 3 ft of your computer at all times: unless you plan on labelling all the cartridges you buy with labels indicating what the cartridge is to be used for.
My honest advice. If you want a label maker, go get one. If you want a CD/DVD labeller, go get one.
GREAT PRINTER.......2006-04-25
I purchased this product about a year ago and I found it to do more than I expected, though I wish it printed the cds all the way round.Nevertheless it can function both as a thermal printer to cds and tape for labelling it an excellent product
also USB friendly
Product Description
The CASIO CW-75 Disc Title Printer is a thermal printer with that produces crisp, clear professional CD-Rs / DVDs without the hassle of applying unprofessional looking sticky labels that can damage your CD drive. On a typical CD-R, you can print up to eight lines in one print area above the opening in the center of the CD-R, and up to eight lines in one print area below the hole, for a total of 16 lines. Actual print speed will vary according to use
Customer Reviews:
Love it.......2007-08-20
I love this printer. Very easy to use, as a stand along unit or with a computer. It won't get smudged or smear as long as you use a media with smooth surface (I had used on discs made by Sony, TDK, Maxell, Playo...brands such as Memorex and Philips won't work 'cause they have designs on the discs) yet easy to remove with a little make-up removal oil (use something mild and natrual so it won't damage your data if you should get some on the recording side). Some people had complained about battery lives, I found that it drains the batteries faster if it's connected to a computer. Before you go and buy an AC Adopter, look around your house to see if you can find a substute. I found the adopter for my 12v portable DVD player worked fine with it. Silver ink looked great on colored discs, but when using color inks, you might want to use bold type as they tend to be lighter. Not for heavy commercial use or people looking for complex designs and graphics, but great for simple, clean disc title jobs.
Excellent concept for very light users, but has serious shortcomings.......2007-03-29
Like many users, I used to print stick-on labels for my CDs and DVDs (using a program called CD Stomper). The process was sufficiently inconvenient that I often just labelled the discs with a marker instead (a Sharpie isn't elegant, but it's simple and quick).
When I saw this Casio disc printer, I thought it would be the answer to my problems, so I bought it. Here's a quick summary of the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good: The disc title printer works with your PC, which is convenient when you want to design a more complex label, add a logo to the label, etc. It also works as a standalone disc labeler, using the built-in keyboard, which is convenient when you're away from your PC. It takes up relatively little space (about 8x8 inches) and can run on batteries, so you don't have to carry around a power brick.
The bad: When using the printer in standalone mode, the interface is confusing (the interface when using a PC is much more intuitive). Also, if you want to print a two-part disc label (i.e., one that has text both above and below the spindle hole in the disc), you must remove the disc from the printer half-way through the print job and put it back in upside down so the printer can finish the bottom half of the label. This is inconvenient, and requires that you be very careful about aligning the disc each time to avoid top and bottom labels that aren't lined up. Finally, the printing is limited to a single color (you have a choice of black, blue, or red).
The ugly: Unless you buy the special CDs recommended by Casio, the printer often skips letters of the title. Apparently a regualar CD-R surface is not entirely compatible with the Casio's thermal print head. Of the discs I've tried to label, roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of the time the printing is of such poor quality that I've had to throw the disc away. Now, I label the discs before recording -- I still have to throw away bad discs, but at least I haven't wasted all the recording time when the label printer messes up. Another weak point: The printer consumes batteries at a frightening rate. The eight AA batteries that were included lasted for only 40-50 disks. That's a AA battery for every 5-6 discs.
In a nutshell, if you need small size or portability (a built-in keyboard, and battery power), this can be a handy disc labeler. But if you need to label more than a couple of discs per month, want to print creative multi-color labels, or get frustrated by a product that yields unnacceptably poor quality a high percentage of the time, then you will not be pleased with this disc label printer.
good product.......2007-02-28
relatively easy to use. i've printed a labeled more than 2 dz. CDs with no trouble and the ink cartridge that came with it is still working fine
This Thing Is A Piece of Junk.......2007-02-23
Don't waste your money. It uses a ribbon, which jammed and tore the second time I used it. They've sealed the cartridge, so you can't patch it. AVOID.
Never recieved the Casio cw75 got Casio Cwk-85 unstead.......2007-01-22
I told Amazon I got wrong item but will try to make it work, after a dozen DVD's and several ink cartridges used I did come up with a format that might work. Amazon did email and say they'd give a 20% discount for keeping wrong item, I'll see if I get it

Product Description
Jitter from shaky hands is one of the main reasons why cameras produce blurry images. Panasonic doesn't expect everyone to have hands of stone when taking pictures - that's why Lumix cameras help solve the problem of unsteady hands with advanced MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer technology. The DMC-LS1 has a built-in gyrosensor that detects any hand movement and relays a signal to a tiny microcomputer inside the camera, which instantly calculates the compensation needed. A linear motor then shifts the Optical Image Stabilizer lens as necessary to guide incoming light from the image straight to the CCD. You won't even notice it working - all you'll see are the outstanding results!

Excellent value for money.......2006-06-29
But only if you are mainly looking for high quality stills. Video recording has no sound.
For my use, which is taking photos of itmes I sell on ebay, this camera works great. The Macro mode gives great details of finer lines and small objects.
I was first shocked to see this particular model made in China, but it seems that quality is not effected by this at all.

Decent........2007-01-13
For this price, one can't expect to get an iPod, but this is an acceptable alternative for those who want something simple and cheap. It's strong points include an FM reciever, the ability to record through a microphone or off of the radio, and a relatively easy to use user interface.
But of course there are a few shortcomings--as one might expect for a cheap, foreign-made electronic device. The track skipping is a little slow, making it annoying to try to find a specific song (if you know the track number, however, there is a function to skip directly to it). Also, while there is a shuffle feature, it does not keep track of which songs have already been played.
The most dissapointing failure was that of the earbuds, which developed a short in less than a week--dispite what seemed to be a very good design that kept pressure off of all the wire connections.
Aside from these few annoyances, though, it has served me well.
My first MP3 player.......2006-07-25
I love it. It's small, and easy to use.
Loading: Just plug it in to a USB port. Then 'drag-n-drop' mp3's onto it. It supports folders (but that makes it more complicated to listen).
Navigation: Kind of clunky, not intuitive at all. I had to refer to the manual several times. But, once you get it down, it's not too hard. The display, although small, is easy to read. It becomes backlit when you press a button.
Listening: The included 'necklace' style earbuds are cool, but you can use any standard headphones. The device fits in your pocket (and you can 'lock' the controls). The audio quality is fine for low or normal headphone volume, but I wouldn't use it with a stereo system.
Occasionally, a few (very few) of my MP3 files will produce an error message - and won't play. But, that could be due to poor encoding. I'm not sure what the cause is.
Features:
FM- Reception is always 'hit and miss' with this type of device, but it works fairly well.
Recording- Works well enough.
Shuffle- Load your MP3's, turn on shuffle, and it's like your own radio station.
Another reviewer mentioned tuning in TV channels. But, I haven't seen any way to do that (I even tried 'Japan Band' radio).
Final Thought: I wanted an MP3 player, but wasn't ready to pay the big bucks for an iPod. That's why I bought this. After two months of moderate usage, I'm happy with my purchase.
Lots of Features.......2006-02-26
The backlit display is nice, although the screen is tiny and hard to read. The FM radio works great and even has "Japan" FM band, which is not only useful if you are in Japan, but you can tune TV audio in the US. Recording FM produces a fair quality mono recording. No support for DRM but a few extra steps can get around that. Macvision is now Nextar, as of 2/2006 their are no firmware upgrades available, and you can't find this model on the new website.
Nice for the Price.......2006-02-18
After a month's use, I'm still enjoying this product. There are a few caveats that users need to be aware of, however. First of all, you cannot play DRM protected music files on this player - that means no mp3s from iTunes or other legitimate online music store. Also, the user interface can be a little arcane and takes some getting used to. The included manual is sparse, to say the least. If you can get past these limitations, though, this is a great player for the money. The FM radio works fine (weaker stations are a little staticky), and if you have an OS later than Windows 98, you can transfer files to the player without using any proprietary synching software. Plus, the player is a fully functional thumbdrive, so you can just plug it right into an open USB port and drag and drop files to and from it. You can also run portable programs like portable Firefox, winamp, Open Office, etc. right off of the drive. Very handy and great for the price.
