Optics and Resolution
The 2-megapixel CCD sensor captures sharp and brilliant images of up to 1,600 by 1,200 pixels, creating prints with sizes of up to 8 by 10 inches. Most other digital cameras are slow in operation, but the Exilim's speedy start-up time, lens, and CPU get to work so that, when the camera's turned on, a photo is taken in 0.01 seconds of pressing the shutter, capturing that otherwise lost moment.

Storage and Transfer
Images are stored on 12 MB of internal memory, which stores about 24 images with settings at normal resolution. If you want more memory, the expansion slot is compatible with any MMC or SD memory card. Movie Mode
In addition to taking still photos, the Exilim can also record AVI movie clips with sound. The movie can be as long as 30 seconds at a resolution of 320 by 240 pixels.

More Features
Many of the Exilim's settings can be modified, such as programmed exposure, white balance, and flash. When you shoot in the "best shot" mode you can select a stored photo that looks similar to the photo you want to take and the camera automatically sets up to achieve that look. You can easily keep track of all these modes using the large 1.6-inch color LCD screen.

The Exilim also plays MP3s of various frequencies and bit rates, and is even VBR-compatible. The voice-memo function can record up to 50 minutes on the internal memory.

Power, Size, and Contents
The Exilim comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which has an approximate battery life of 65 minutes. The camera itself measures 3.46 by 2.16 by 0.49 inches and weighs 3.2 ounces without the battery. good for a 2mp camera with no zoom or macro.......2005-09-08

for a 2mp camera, it's a pretty good one. you can't zoom and you can't take do macro, but if you just want something tiny (almost credit card size) just to take everyday photos, it's great. and it does movies too, which was fun. i used it for a couple of years. unfortunately, the mp3 player part of it died after a year or so - it would just cut out. but i would have no issue with buying another casio camera in the future. it is very sturdy, never had any problems with the actual camera.

How to use MP3 player on it........2004-10-06

1. Install drivers from CD.
2. Plug the cradle into usb port (don't forget to plug it into outlet too)
3. Put the camera into cradle.
4. Charging LED should be on now. Press on/off button on camera. It should switch camera to USB mode.
5. If u installed drivers correctly, then when u load up some file browser in My Computer folder where all drives are listed, there should appear a Removable Drive (D: for example, that's right, that's ur camera). Click on it and u are in cameras memory. There are two folders - 1 for pics and 2 for mp3s. Just copy mp3 files to that directory and u all set.

Good in size, bad in quality........2004-07-04

when i just bought it, its compactable size seemed to be its biggest advantage. however,its battery life isn't that good as it could only last for at most 2,3 days. sometimes, lesser than a day if many pictures were to be taken. also,its metal finish ain't that good as it is scratchable easily.Not good if you were prepared to have it with you for the rest of you life.thus, i find that only its size and mp3 function is a big plus for this little camera, without the fact of its poor quality of pictures. but hey, wad can you expect from a 2 megapixel camera...

very cute camera........2003-11-14

I purchased this camera instead of a higher quality camera because of its size and its functions. The mp3 player part of it is awesome and the size of it is very convenient. its a great camera, although the quality of the pictures arent that great. i recommend this camera for people looking to take everyday pictures, but if you're looking for quality, this camera might not satisfy you. i bought a 256 memory card with it, and it allows me to have as many things on my camera as i desire. great design very stylish.. =]

A thing of beauty.......2003-09-16

I bought my girlfriend the Exilim S2 about a year ago, she got fed up with me using it, so I had to buy my own. The thing is just amazing. Simple to use, in a beautiful, sturdy, magnesium, credit-card sized body. And the battery lasts ages. Picture quality on the lower resolution settings isn't so good, and the digital zoom is rubbish, but that's hardly the point. This is a camera for snaps, moments where you just want to reach into your pocket and snap what's in front of you. The computer interface is a doddle - I use it with my Mac, and all the file formats are standard so you can use it with just about anything. I know about five people that have gone out and bought this camera after I demonstrated it to them, I should be getting commission from Casio!

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday. It worked for a little while, but after a few uses it wouldn't even power up. I have been trying all week to get satisfaction from the company at nextar.com and I have had no support whatsoever. I have emailed them and called them three times with no answer. I will not be doing business with this company any more. If you buy one, definately buy the extended warrantee because you will probably be using it.

i bought one of these for my mothers b-day and it did not work... it would not power on at all... i had to send it back and i have not received the new one yet... i dont know if i made a mistake by getting the same one or if i should have gotten my money back or replaced it with another item.. anyway, my mother liked the looks of this one (because its pink, im sure) so thats the one i got her... maybe mine was just a defect... i will post a new coment on how the new one works when i get it..

I got the new one and it has been working great ever since! my mom loves it and listens to it everyday.. very easy to use and sounds great! I guess the first one i bought was just a dud but amazon was very helpfull and had a new one to me in a matter of days.. very happy!

Great value for an MP3 player.......2006-04-15

I was a little apprehensive and was not really expecting a lot from an affordable MP3 player but this is great. Initially I just wanted a handy and tiny player for my trips to the gym, but I practically use it every chance I get. Great sound for such a tiny thing. FM reception is great too.

I bought the same model but mine has 256MB memory. I was hesitating to buy this mp3 player because the review was 5stars but there was only one review. Now I am glad that I bought it. I paid only 34 dollars for my 256MP player. For this price it has everything. Play mp1,mp2,mp3,wma,wmv,asf,wav. You don't need sofware to use it. Just plug to your PC (If you have systems prior to Win 2000). You can creat as many folders as you want. It can record your voice and FM radio.Multiple languate supports and synchro lyric and shutdown timer....and more..... I wrote things I like. Also easy to use. I really like my mp3 player!!

Cheap construction, Interference.......2007-03-26

Ive had these for about 2 years: they pick up a lot of interference, are hard to tune, and the battery life is terrible. If this is typical of Sennheiser, I wouldn't buy anything from them again.

On the plus side, when they work, they have reasonably good sound. The earpieces are comfortable for about an hour. They are light, too.

The description didn't say "refurbished," but it was.......2005-07-16

At the time of my purchase, nowhere in this product description did the notorious TigerDirect say that is was being sold as "refurbished," but that is how it arrived. I spoke to Sennheiser and they said that it is possible that even the battery might not have been replaced if the product appeared to have had "light use."

As a matter of interest, Sennheiser nicely told me that they cut corners on this product "to compete with Advent and JVC...." One way they cut corners is to have no covering over the foam inserts. The wireless portion isn't bad, but it looks trashy. Sennheiser should have known better. Now I know better.

It isn't self evident that a substantially discounted product is a refurb. I bought the Sennheiser HD 600 headset through Amazon (from J&R) at a large discount, and it was unquestionably new.

Update: More than 10 days ago I complained to Amazon and TigerDirect about the phones being refurbished, TigerDirect acknowledged the problem and told me to keep them and I would get a refund. (I guess they don't cost the company very much.) But the listing page has still been updated to reflect that buyers don't get new phones.

Further update, Aug 1, 05: Two weeks after TigerDirect said they would issue a refund it has not been done, but they have requested that I remove my negative feedback. A TD phone rep now asks that I forward the email that authorized the refund so that his manager can "take care of it." The main Amazon product listing shows the RS30 as out of stock, and two Marketplace sellers (neither of which is TigerDirect) have it listed as refurbished.

Cuts off with phone use.......2004-02-24

I bought these headphones for my dad and he says that everytime the neighbour picks up the phone, his connection to the base unit is broken. He's able to listen in to their conversations because of the signaling overlap. To fix the problem, he has to get up and hit the channel change button to re-establish the connection. This happens quite frequently and he's very very annoyed. I'll be returning them ASAP.

Great sound, cheap construction.......2004-02-22

I bought the RS30's over the other brands of wireless headphones because I've been extremely pleased with my other Sennheiser purchases (HD-202, HD-212, MX-400). In those cases, I've found both the construction and sound quality to be well ahead of the pack, especially for the price. In the RS-30's, I had to settle for one out of two. The sound quality is excellent - within a 50 foot radius, you'd never know they weren't an expensive wired set. Reception is good throughout the house, although a little static creeps in at longer distances.

However, I was surpised by the cheap plastic and un-upholstered foam construction. Right out of the box, there was a little piece of plastic rattling around inside the headband. I don't see these headphones lasting long, even with gentle use. Also, the battery pack is just a dumb design. You have to remove the battery from the phones and plug it into the base to charge. Well, the base already acts as a cradle for the phones, so how hard would it be to align the contacts on the battery with those on the base, so it will charge on its own?? Cordless telephones have done this for years.

In short, I bought this as a gift, and I'll be a little embarassed when I hand it over later today, as it looks like a kmart special. Hopefully, the sound quality will help the recipient overlook the construction.

Cut too many corners.......2003-12-23

The RS30 is the bottom of the Sennheiser wireless headphone line. It replace the RS4. There are 4 variations of the RS30 for which the 900 MHz (US model?) unit has a reception of about 100 ft. while all the other RS30s have receptions about 300 ft. The RS30 and RS4 is compatible in receiving signals from either base units and uses the same battery. There are three selectable channels on the base unit.

The RS 30 has a two year warranty but looking at the cheap construction (all cheap plastic, no metal parts) it doesn't appeared to me that it will last 6 months. The RS4 was much better constructed. The volume, tune and on/off on the headphone are too small and just too awkward to adjust, in particular, the tune control. This is not the case with the the RS4. The RS4 is also more comfortable for extended hours or usage. There is a one page manual in six diferent languages. There is a website but no other US contacts provided on the manual.

The RS4 has a low level background hiss but much of that is gone on the RS30 although some occasional hiss, clicks and pops still persist. The battery will last 8226t 4 hours at first and within a year or two only last one hour like mine RS4. My local stores that sells the RS30 units don't carry the batteries.

Sound quality is not any better than standard cheap wired headphones that come with MP3, portable CD or MD players. I could manage about two hours of usage before the RS30 headset become uncomfortable, just enought for a movie. The ear pads are awful thin and cheap. Too many corners were cut in constructing this headphone. I listen mostly to soft rock, pop and jazz and with respect to that the audio response is smooth throughout the audio spectrum. In summary: poor physical construction but good sound for casual listening.
