Customer Reviews:
Dreadful after sales support from Casio.......2007-02-21
To be honest when the camera was working it was fantastic. Great features, long batery life, easy to use etc. Then 18 months after purchase it broke. Just will not power up. Casio want $250 + shipping to replace it with a rebuilt one. Bye bye casio
Great camera for my needs.......2006-11-28
I did LOTS of research before finally purchasing the Casio Exilim EXZ55, my first digital camera. I've now owned it for one year and have been extremely happy with the quality, features, and ease of use of this camera.
The Z55 appealed to me for a few reasons. Besides the obvious reason of desiring high-quality photos, I knew that I wanted a camera with a long battery life. I can easily use the camera for an entire day without worrying about the battery running out. For work, I often photograph special events, requiring the camera to be on and ready, and the Casio performs superbly.
The Z55 is amazingly small. I carry it with me in my purse everywhere. Even in a case, the camera is light and compact. It comfortably fits in the back pocket of my jeans, or in a wristlet. It is tiny.
I especially appreciate that the camera starts up very quickly. It doesn't need long in between shots, and is ready to take a photo as soon as it turns on. I find this convenient and have used other cameras in a similar price range with a long lag time between photos.
Overall, this is a great digital camera. I recommend it for people wishing for a simple to use, long battery life, compact camera.
Very handy.......2006-07-04
I have this camera for two years and I am very satisfied. As a point and shoot, this camera is flexible enough to let me fine tune settings to adjust to my scene.
Check out the customer photos to see for yourself.
Good camera - but lens cover broke.......2006-05-22
I have really liked this camera so far - it takes high-quality pictures, it is small and fits easily into purse/pocket, etc, and it is very user-friendly (displays, etc). However, three months after I bought it, I had to send it for a repair because the lens cover (retracts automatically) was slow and wouldn't open or close all the way sometimes. I am annoyed, but if everything works out with the repair (under warranty) will be happy with it.
Lasted 6 months - Horrible Customer Service.......2006-05-05
Great camera, took great pics, everyone loved it. Then one day I went to turn it on and half the screen was black and distorted. The unit was kept in a case and experienced no abuse. I called Casio who said to send it in to an authorized dealer for repair. Six calls and a month later, no repair and a bill for $200 to repair a camera that cost $300 only 6 months from purchase. Neither Casio or the authorized dealer are any help. The LCD display (one of the main reasons for buying) is not covered. As much as I love this camera, I would never buy a Casio again. Terrible customer service and a practically non-existent warranty.

The Casio EX-Z55 is a thin, stylish, 5-megapixel digital camera with 3x optical zoom and 2.5-inch LCD screen. It features high performance operation in an easy-to-use, compact design. The Z55 replicates the thin-body construction of its predecessors with a large TFT LCD screen, and also features the Exilim Engine, Casio's proprietary compact image processing module.
 |
|
The Casio EX-Z55 features an extra-large 2.5-inch LCD screen, while still retaining its optical viewfinder. |
The Casio EX-Z55 boasts even lower power consumption, a high resolution 5-megapixel CCD, a 3x optical zoom lens, an extra large 2.5-inch LCD screen, and an optical viewfinder. With its compact and stylish design, the EX-Z55 can take approximately 400 pictures (based on CIPA standards) on a single charge. The camera offers extended battery life, making it ideal for use during long vacations, business travel, and other occasions requiring the amazing stamina that these cameras now offer.
 |
|
Photo Loader software allows automatic transfer of images to a PC at the touch of a single button on the USB cradle. |
Like all models in the Exilim series, the Z55 offers superior portability and excellent picture quality, along with extremely high speed operation for quick response in a variety of shooting situations. For example, Casio's now legendary Best Shot function allows the user to select settings automatically by choosing from sample scenes. In addition, several new functions have been incorporated to assure a higher level of performance, such as the Business Shot function which provides automatic alignment correction for photos taken at an angle, altering shots as though they were taken from a straight front position; the Auto Macro, which automatically switches between macro mode and AF mode; Flash Assist, which compensates for brightness levels in darker areas not reached by the flash; and Icon Help, which displays on-screen guides to help the user during the switching of settings.

Customer Reviews:
Not Oki by me.......2007-03-06
My experience with the B4350 is that it doesn't live up to the promises it was sold on. High yield toner cartridges didn't last, drums didn't get anywhere near 25,000 copies before quality went into the toilet. When it worked, it worked fine. It was costly to operate. I'm searching for its replacement ant not more replacement parts.
Money pit of a printer.......2007-02-20
The initial price looks good, and when you look up the price of toner cartridges, they look good. What they don't tell you up front is that in addition to the toner cartridges, the print drum cartridge is a separate disposable item, and it costs nearly as much as the printer. Toner cartridges came in two loads. The larger toner cartridge was supposed to go 6000 pages. We were lucky to get 3000. The drum cartridge was supposed to go for 25,000 pages. "It" wanted a new one after every other toner. We donated the printer to Good Will, though I'm not sure there was much good will in that donation. We replaced it with the HP2015dn; so far, it seems to be delivering as promised, and is not eating out of house and home.

Product Description
This Digital Video Disc Player provides high picture quality, clear sound, and endless playback features available on Digital Video Discs (DVDs). Add options to your DVD viewing - watch a director's cut of a movie, listen to the producer's comments, or play your favorite scene over and over again. The possibilities are limited only by your choices and the materials available on the DVD. You also can listen to Audio Compact Discs and MP3 files on this Player, or view JPEG images.
Amazon.com Product Description
Time to turn your living room into a home theater? Do it affordably with Magnavox's slim and stylin' MDV453S, which boasts high-end progressive-scan component-video outputs--perfect for high-definition and HD-ready TVs of today and tomorrow--and built-in JPEG image and MP3 music decoding so you can enjoy personalized digital-photo slideshows and multihour music mixes right in the comfort of your living room. If you or your loved ones are putting home videos on DVD, the MDV453S will play recordable DVD+R and DVD+RW formats, too.
Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.
A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channels audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions, while Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver.
If you don't have a surround receiver or six-channel speaker setup, you can still make every movie night the ultimate experience: 3D Surround simulates surround sound through two speakers (even the stereo speakers on your TV). Other helpful features include an advanced, icon-driven GUI (graphical user interface), a screen saver (which helps prevent image burn-in on your TV screen while you've paused or stopped a disc), and auto power-off for energy savings.
What's in the Box
DVD player, remote control, remote batteries, user's manual, and stereo analog audio interconnect/composite-video cable.
Customer Reviews:
Works well, has had a few "glitches".......2004-03-11
I have owned this about 6 mos. and it has worked great except once the "open" button on the unit stopped working and the buttons on the remote were acting funny, but this resolved after unplugging the unit for about 5 minutes. Reads my DVD+R backup copies of dvds perfectly. Overall very good for the money.
Technically not a DVD player.......2003-12-10
This player did play DVD-R, -RW, and +RW (I didn't have a +R to try), but not well. It kept dropping frames (that is, the video would pause and then skip forward), which is generally a symptom of an MPEG decoder that can't keep up with the bitrate of the DVD. But the DVD was authored at 7.5Mbps max (average 5.5Mbps), and the DVD Forum standards specify that a DVD player must handle 9.8Mbps. This might not matter for most commercial DVDs, which (I've heard) tend to stay below about 5Mbps in order to coddle older players; but there are plenty of titles coming out these days that go for high bitrates to provide maximum quality. If this player can't handle them, then, technically, it is not a DVD player; it should not be advertised as such, and is probably not entitled to use the DVD Forum's DVD Video logo.
Of course, it's possible that the encoder I used to author my DVD was flawed; but it seems unlikely--all three of these discs played correctly in my AMW S99.
This DVD player works great so far ..........2003-11-21
I have had this DVD player for about a month & have had no problems. The only complaint I have is minor and concerns the remote. The first time that I used this player I saw that both the fast forward and play buttons look exactly the same (but, aren't labelled) and the play button is very close to the down arrow button ... so, I found myself having to experiment with the buttons to navigate and hitting the wrong buttons.

Kodak Inkjet Photo Paper for Business Cards.......2002-01-08
In our experience, this paper works very well with the HP printers (specifically the 990 cse) We've printed a great number of very professional looking business cards and get requests to print more when supplies run low.
Kodak's photo papers don't work well with my Epson 1280.......2001-11-14
I've tried both Kodak's photo business cards and its photo paper with my new Epson 1280. The printer in general produces spectacular results on Epson's photo papers. Kodak's photo biz cards gave me dull, unsaturated colors with a tendency towards brownish or magenta rendering - very unattractive. Kodak's photo paper produced nice results in light areas, and bizarre blotchy results in dark areas of the image. I actually changed color cartridges, thinking one of the colors had gone dry, but got the same results - until I switched to Epson's photo paper. I've also had unsatisfactory results using Kodak's bizcard photo paper in my old Epson 850.
