Mine had pixelating problems at first. but after a complete reading of instructions I found you can reset the chip by holding the stop button in for ten seconds until it reads "RESET" on display. Has not even flickered once since and I play DVD-R's for 4 to 5 hours at a time. If you buy this get the longest extended warranty you can.
Honstly I would rate this at 4 stars but for some reason I cant get the stars to change on this page.

I've had nothing but problems with mine. It's been in the shop 3 times and is now out of warranty. It chokes randomly on certain disks...just can't read them. It's slooooooooow.

I expected a lot more from Onkyo, and am bitterly disappointed. At least they stopped making it.

Run away from it !.......2004-07-20

I never thought I would say that about a Onkyo product. But this is a very dissapointing equipment. Sure, it's great to have a 6-disc changer at home, specially with wife and kids all wanting to watch different things. The sound is good and the remote easy to use. Them comes the pictures. It has a major, and from what I could see in other reviews around the net, tint problem. The picture gets extremely green. No matter how much you adjust the DVD or the TV, you allways see the "greeness" in everything. The jpeg compatibility is awfull. A picture takes almost 30 seconds to load. And despite all those problems, I live outside the US and can't return the player for anothe one. It seems like Onkyo has just released a DV-CP702 model, exactly the same as this one, but fixind those bugs. So, if you get a chance to buy this model, don't, you'll regret it.

This unit has been harshly judged on some of the other electronics web sites. I have used the player for about a week now. The sound quality is first rate using the Burr Brown DAC. I am also satisifed with the progressive scan video quality. I just have not expereinced the problems that others have mentioned. The only weakness was in the area of jpg playback. For under 200 dollars this player is great value.

The picture is wonderful and sound blows you away. This player will also play DVD+RW (not mentioned in specs) and my SVCD movies.

Quality!.......2006-05-12

I bought this laptop around June of 2005 and have been extremely happy with it. I'm trying to think of major downsides, but they are hard to find. If you're picky about looks, you might not like the typical IBM look, then again, others actually like it. I guess my biggest complain would be that finger marks are visible on the top cover (and a little cumbersome to wipe off). Other than that, this laptop kicks [...].
If you get the 15inch version, you'll get a native resolution of 1600x1200. Text and icons might seem small at first, but the crispness and screen real estate you get from that make you reluctant to go back to lower resolutions. The graphics card does quite well too. I don't play quake, but I read a review where someone said they got 196fps in Quake III.
Some more positives:
-I don't know what it is about the keyboard, but it's super easy to use and type fast on.
-I consistently get a better wireless signal than people with Dells or Compaqs (the antennae are built into the frame of the screen.
-Fingerprint reader and customizeable security subsystem that can be turned up so high that if you lose your password (or finger) you would have get part of the hardware replaced to make the laptop useable again.
-A plethora of IBM utilities that let you customize the daylight out of your laptop. I've never seen ANY computer, desktop or laptop, that came with so many native utilities. And updating all those utilities and drivers and BIOS is made extremely easy by yet another utility.

In short, if you can afford this laptop and like things for their inner beauty, quality and features, get this laptop! If IBM/Lenovo keeps up these high standards in quality and features, I can't see myself every going with another brand.
