A composite-video output ensures compatibility with nearly any television and many newer computer monitors. A set of standard left/right RCA analog outputs simplifies hookup with traditional integrated amplifiers and most televisions.

I understand that I should have low expectiations with the price, but I expected it to work longer then 45 days. When it was working the only drawback was the remote which has 56 evenly spaced buttons that are all the same size so you better have the lights on if you are trying to use it!

This is a great bare bones DVD player. It doesn't have many bells and whistles, but is an excellant value. We've been using it regularly for over three months. If it breaks tomorrow, we will still have gotten our money's worth.
Satisfied with my first DVD player purchase ever........2007-09-12
Thinking it was about time I bought a DVD player I decided to go with this affordable one to start me off. Based on the reviews I knew what to expect. I've had this DVD player for about a month so far with light usage and I love it. The only 2 issues I have with it is that while it was easy to plug in, it wasn't exactly a cakewalk to try to get it to work at first. I needed to play around with my settings and I finally realized that I had to change my TV setting manually to video in order for the DVD to play. The instructions did not explain this anywhere, but then again my 24" Sony is over a decade old. The second issue I have is that there is no power button on the remote. Also, unlike my VCR which I can switch from cable/tv to VCR by remote, I have to actually get up to manually change the video setting on my TV and press the power button before watching any DVD. It gets a little annoying if you are snuggled in bed and need to get out just to watch your fav DVD that's already inside your player but other than that all the other buttons that you need while watching your movie are on the remote. Overall I am happy with my purchase and I feel it was worth the money. Shipping was longer than I expected from Amazon, but arrived on time.
Great little DVD player! Features just right........2007-09-08
I got this DVD player to fit in a narrow area next to our in-wall television to eliminate the need for tacky A/V room furniture and exposed wiring. The Coby DVD-224ss Compact DVD Player works great and has played every DVD flawlessly. It's small size, great price and features are just right for family DVD viewing. I would buy it again.

Excellent Value.......2002-08-22
This drive is an excellent value. I had no problems installing it into my Win 2000 machine. The drivers installed fine. I finally upgraded from a Plextor 8X which had a lot of buffer overrun errors. The Memorex protects against such buffer problems. This is my second Memorex drive and they seem to make a high quality product. I trust them a lot more than the generic manufacturers.
Cheap, reliable and fast.......2002-08-15
I would definately reccomend this fine cdrw to anybody.I paid a great price for it.It works beautiful fast.Installation was easy even tho the software bundle seemed outdated for the great hardware they supplied.So i got a copy of ahead nero work beautiful spectacular.Quiet and so far 2 months never locked up once.Again i want to say this is far yet the best deal for CDRW value and performance.
Major incompatiblity problems.......2002-08-12
I tried to install this product twice on a Celeron 1.3GHz system with a VIA 686B chipset, running both Win98SE and WinXP Pro.
The first time, I thought I had bought a defective drive, which happens rarely. Using the most current version of the Roxio Easy-CD software that came with the drive, the drive would lock up the IDE bus whenever I attempted to write to a CD-RW. When this happened again after replacing it with a 2nd drive, I suspected something else was amiss. After some investigation, I tried turning off the DMA setting for the drive, and lo and behold, it worked! Performance was less than spectacular, but it would do.
The next day, I attempted to copy some tracks off of an audio CD, and when trying to read the tracks while running Win98SE, the system would lock up. On a hunch, I turned DMA back on, and it could now read the audio tracks.
I'm told this may be a problem only with VIA chipsets, but I haven't had this problem with other models, therefore I can't recommend it

well, my dad bought it about 3 or 4 years ago maybe longer and even today its still a great camcorder. granted, i havent used it much, but everytime i have used it i was always happy with the results.
all i would want more of is the zoom, but the 20X isnt bad at all and has done a good job.
i personally like it alot and dont see my self getting a new one any time soon.
panasonic builds great, quality products. heck you can see my last months review of the FZ20 digital camera i bought and i love it as well.
This is a good basic camcorder.......2001-10-04
We just purchased this unit for our new baby girls. We wanted a simple camcorder that was relatively inexpensive that would shoot a good picture. We have been pleasantly suprised on how well the picture quality is. The battery life is pretty good too. So far there is nothing really to say bad about the unit, other than how much the extra battery pack costs. We looked at another unit that you could take digital still pictures with a regular VHS-C camcorder. But after thinking about having to carry it around to just take still pictures, we decided against that. We also considered a digital camcorder. Aside from the higher (and sometimes much higher) price, I wanted to be able to view the output easily and also be able to send it to family and friends. All in all, this is a good basic camcorder at a good price.
