Just what I was looking for.......2007-09-08
I was looking for MP3 players for my 3 and 5 year olds. Wiggles and Disney CDs don't have a long lifespan with kids that age.
I wanted them to be fairly kid proof.. no docks, moving parts, headphones, etc.
These were exactly what I was looking for, and the price was right. The kids love them.
If I had to pick on a couple things... the LCD display could have better contrast, and they'd be much better with 512MB.

With the low cost of this MP3 "Boombox" item through an alternate Amazon dealer, I was really expecting very little.......but out of the box it did more and easily then I ever expected. I am pretty MP3 savy and this was a mojo simple plug and play. You just drop the songs over the USB and it plays, no trouble at all. The 256 will hold at least a good 1 1/2 hour of play anyway but the best part is that it actually plays pretty dang loud. I was expecting a tiny tin sound but you can hear it playing three rooms away, no problem, no rattle. It has a fairly good base sound and if your files are simple medium bit downloads or rips, the sound is good. The FM radio has a pretty cheap reciever I guess but I didn't buy it for that. If you want something to haul around with you, this is prefect for size and with just 4 c's in it, not much wieght. I will update my review if this "thang" goes bad after a while.

Doesn't matter how good or how bad a product is, I will give it zero star when I am lied to: the 4xC batteries are NOT included, and the USB port is only 1.1, not "ultra fast 2.0" as indicated in the product information.
On top of that: the player does not resume where it left off on the SD card, the alarm function on my new unit does not work (set to FM).
The saving graces: AC adapter is included, funtions as a conventional alarm clock (that is if the alarm works) with radio(FM only)/stored music/buzz/snooze button, sleep timer, plays mp3, direct mp3 encoding, option to resume at beginning of track or at the exact point where left off, and very small internal memory (256mb, imagine if larger would wait forever for the usb 1.1 to transfer), the backlit light is bright orange is as good as a night light. But all the settings need to be done through navigating the menu, not convenient as a conventional alrm clock.
Oy vey. But FYI.

After reading the above review from the gadgetaholic, I decided to give this little bugger a try, based on his mention of the record-from-aux feature. I, too, have a record/tape collection I'm dying to make home grown cds from. I'll admit, at first it took some trial and error runs, but at my age (crusty, and might I add this is my first player of this sort, as well) that's not unexpected. After said break-in period, I have to agree totally, the only reasons for not giving it 5 stars is that, while certainly not flimsy, I don't think it will dribble well, and the radio reception isn't the best out here in the boonies, but the point is to bring your own anyway, right? I don't know how many 1 gig cards it'll take to hold my collection, but I do know 1 gig holds a LOT! of songs. For the price, hard to beat.
Little boombox with lots of surprises. Hit the beaches with one of these........2007-03-27
The Coby MP-C341 boom box is the real deal. For the price, you really can't go wrong with this product. I can't think of a better companion to hit the beaches with this summer.
It is not only a boombox but also an alarm clock, an FM radio, external speakers for your iPod, and a direct-to-mp3 recording device. Try getting that from other manufacturers. Let alone for the price of $100 or less.
On the outside, it looks like a white gigantic capsule. Something a giant would swallow when he has a headache. Four speakers are embedded in front for pumping out your favorite tunes. There is a 4-line orange-yellow display right in the front center; just adequate enough to display its current mode. The slots and connectors are at the back for additional SD card, USB cable, AUX in and earphones. You don't even need to buy the cables, they come with unit. The only thing you need to shell out your money for is an extra SD card.
The boombox supports two digital audio formats: WMA and MP3 up to 256 Kpbs. As expected, it does not support DRM, so you can't play any of encrypted WMA song files. The sound quality is what you'd expect out of a low-to-mid end speaker. But still, pretty good. The 256MB internal memory is hardly enough storage. So I suggest buying an additional SD card for this little baby.
What if you already have loads of your music on your iPod already? Well, no fear. Use this boombox as your external speakers. Just connect the provided audio cable from your iPod to the AUX-in jack and you're rockin'.
OK, I saved the best for last. If you're still not impressed with this device, at least get it for its direct-to-mp3 capability. Still have a 45's collection? Convert those into mp3 using this device. Connect the boombox to the audio source and hit the "Record" button. it cannot be simpler than that. In addition, you can also record off the built-in radio or internal microphone.
Why am I not giving it 5 stars? Well, two minor things: the build quality and that 4-line display (hardly enough to get any detailed information).

Decent item, but caveat emptor.......2000-03-29
The Maxtech-910 is a nice little PPC, but take it for what it is and nothing more.
Maxtech went out of business on 4/1/00, so the warranty is worth about as much as the paper it's printed on. Needless to say, forget about tech support either. I had a question and a very bitter and surly, soon to be unemployed person responded.
The unit functions well and I've had no problems with it over the last 24 hours or so that I've owned it...only time will tell. No problem running any of the software that I've downloaded.
The contrast could be better and the backlight only helps in some situations...in others it actually makes it worse.
As a cheaper alternative to the more costly CE based devices, it probably serves alright. I'm certainly less inclined to worry about it getting heisted. The OS is generic (all of the CE's run on the same thing), so it might be a good way to decide if CE is right for you.
I prefer CE to palm, but others seem to feel just the opposite.
I'm a little disappointed in Amazon for not being a little more honest and coming right out and saying that the company was no longer in business. I probably wouldn't have bought this exact item, had I known that.

This drive installed quite easy. It seemed not to want to go with burner as master and normal cd-rom as slave on secondary IDE channel. Made the switch to having the burner on the secondary channel and the hard drive and cd- rom on primary. This burner works great even on my computer running a Pentium 2 400 MHZ. I have no problems burning music and data. Overall great drive.

This is a nice price for a very speedy little CD burner. I installed it easily myself, but then I'm used to installing hardware.... Folks who never open the computer cover may prefer to have a friendly neighborhood nerd do it for them.
Best features: speed and reliability. I am burning audio and data CDs with remarkable speed and so far have not had a single failure -- no "coasters" from CDs that wouldn't complete. No doubt the 2 MB data buffer makes a big difference in performance, minimizing buffer errors that often occur when burning CD-ROMs. Being able to consistently burn 80 minute audio CDs in about two minutes is quite remarkable.
I'm neutral on the "Nero Burning ROM" software that comes with the burner. It has some nice drag-and-drop features, but the user interface needs help. Many options are buried deep in property menus. However, the software did enable us to get up and running quickly, so it's not bad for a freebie. The Nero CD Libary feature has a serious glitch -- by default it stores audio CD information in the root of the C:\ drive, which is not advisable. This can be modified though.
All in all, an easy choice -- good price, good performance for the hardware. But you will may want to look for more sophisticated software for creating CDs and maintaining a CD library.

Actually burned at 48x. Ripped/burned five 80min audio disks in 2 min, 20sec each, on average. Not a single pop, click or skip. Backed up some files at 12x to the CD-RW that came with it, and that was equally easy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Slightly easy to install but not for novices. Had problems with the software and it wouldnt install. To even get tech support you have to submit a form via their web site and wait 72 hours for conformation. But overall and okay burner for the price.

A VERY GOOD CAMCORDER EXCEPT THE PICTURE HAD A LITTLE TO MUCH JITTERS IN IT FOR MY TASTE. Most people probaly would not notice it. THE PICTURE WAS AS GOOD AS VHS-C GET. BUT I CHOOSE TO SEND IT BACK TO J&R AND GOT THE SONY CCD-TRV68. THERE ARE NO JITTERS IN THE SONY CCD-TRV68 AND THE PICTURE IS BETTER. OVERALL I LIKE THE PV-L751 BUT THE SONY CCD-TRV-68 IS THE BEST IN THE ANALOG CLASS

All in all I found the Panasonic PV-L751 to be an ideal product.The picture quality is excellent whether its using the camcorder feature or the digital still feature. The 8 MB flashcard allows for plenty of photos on one outing, depending on the settings you choose it can hold up to 87 photos. The unit is relatively lightweight and I don't have a problem with carrying it around for a long time. The negatives to this product are just a few, I didn't like the battery saver feature that shuts the camera off after 5 minutes of non-use, in the manual it states that this feature can be shut off but I didn't have any luck when I tried to do this. The other thing I didn't like was that the manual was too dificult to understand. Basically its a great product and I love it, I only gave it a 4 star rating because of the battery saver feature I didn't like, otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating.

This is a long delayed review. I don't even know if the product is stil active anymore. Amazon reminded me that I never reviewed this product, so here goes... I bought it when it first came out (ages ago), and I still use it for transferring files from one PC to another several times a week. It really does live in my pocket.
After more than two years (as I recall), it has never failed me. Ever. I don't even know where the cap is anymore. It lives in my pocket with the USB end exposed. There are larger USB sticks on the market, but if this one is still there, it has to be cheap, and it is as reliable as an anvil.

Cheap, mostly functional, uncomfortable.......2007-08-24
Unfortunately, these earbuds don't really fit in my ears. Even without the little fuzzy covers, I can't quite get the buds to stay in far enough that it doesn't feel like they are constantly slipping out of my ears. I've never had this problem with other headphones. Beacuse of this, I can't really judge the sound quality -- they sit only sort of half in my ears, so need to blast the output to hear things at a normal volume. Having two sets for a low price doesn't make up for all of this.

i bought them because the ones that came with my PSP fit my ears funny and tend to give me a slight earache if i wear them for too long. These are decent quality, they still hurt my ears...but not as quickly as the PSP earbuds.
I have a laptop bookbag, so i put these earbuds in one of the zipper pockets when i'm not using them. Every month or so the foam comes off. i wish both earbuds came with the wind up protector case. However, for the price I can't complain.
I work in a cube farm, so the sound quality is good enough to drown out the noisy phone conversations.
If you're looking for a set of earbuds that shut out all noise around you and are so comfortable you don't even remember that you're wearing them...then shell out more cash and buy a more expensive "brand name" pair.
If you're looking for a good-sounding cheap pair to wear to the gym or on the train-ride home, then pick these.
