I read a review of this product that complained about compatablity. This product works just fine on my computer (K6-2 AMD 300mHz), and no this product does not work on a TV, it is for your computer. If you can't get this drive to work on your computer its probably because its an Intel processor, buy AMD =).

I have been sorry ever since I bought this clock radio/cd player. It is very difficult to operate and the reception is mediocre. At times it seems to have a mind of its own. I am afraid to play the radio or cd player because if I do I never know if the alarm will work the next morning. I sure wish I had waited and purchased something a little more "user friendly".

Easy to Use But Poor Reception.......2004-01-03

I live in Los Angeles and enjoy many fine radio stations. Unfortunately, the RC-CD500 has a sad piece of wire, hanging like a pig's tail in the back, serving as an antenna. The result? Poor reception, especially in rainy weather. Other than that, the controls are easy to use and the speakers are adequate, good enough for the price of the machine. However, if reception is important to you, please get a clock radio with a telescopic antenna.

Greatest Clock for a Lazy Awakener.......2004-01-03

I've always had a hard time waking up to other alarm clocks- so much so that I used to put them on the other side of the room just so I'd get out of bed to turn it off. Not the case with this one. I usually set the CD or radio as the 1st alarm, and the buzzer for the 2nd alarm and I get up immediately. I blast the volume the night before, so when it goes off I have an instant stream of LOUD music- which I LOVE! The radio presets are great- the only thing I would have changed in the design (because I'm so lazy) is to have a longer snooze increment (I think it's about 6 minutes). Otherwise, this is one of the greatest clocks I've ever owned- the other was my Dream Machine which majorly conked out after about 3 years.

Broken after a few years.......2003-12-30

Every time the alarm goes off the clock resets itself (loses it's time and alarm settings) This started to happen slowly (you'd wake up late and the clock would be showing lines where the time would display) Eventually it started to happen more often and eventually I stopped using the clock.

I'm used to a clock that lasts until it breaks physically. In a cheaper model I'd be OK if it stopped working so soon but here I feel cheated.

Other than that I found it to be a useful clock. A bit hard to remeber how to change alarms from CD to radio, but generally well laid out.

Panasonic RC-CD500 Great for Our Family.......2003-12-12

We've had the Panasonic RC-CD500 for a few years now and think it's fantastic. (I'm getting ready to purchase another one for my 10-year-old daughter.) The reception is extremely good, even in our basement. I like the battery backup so that I can move the radio to different rooms without having to reset anything. The alarms are easy to set with forward and backward capability. The CD player is very good also. Some reviews have complained about the display being weak, but we see nothing wrong with it. My husband usually turns it off during the night so the light won't disturb him at all. We'll soon have two of these in our family! My son may get his own in a couple years.

Having the Microsoft Wireless-G Xbox Adapter has cleaned up the room. We no longer have the wire from the living room to the bed room, all 40 feet of it is gone. It was easy to hook up and after a month of use we have had no problems.

It took us a while to get this hooked up (user error). We had the wrong encryption level set which was causing the error. But now that it is working we are very happy with the product. Signal strength is good even though the modem is upstairs. No dropping of connections.

You get what you pay for..........2004-08-06

I occasionally do some freelance writing, and I wanted a relatively cheap voice recorder for the rare occasions when I interview people.

The memorex is fairly slim and light, which is a good thing, so it can easily fit into pockets. The controls are a little unwieldy, as changing features and modes involve frantic pressing of a couple of rather unyielding buttons. As has been mentioned, the display is rather hard to see as well.

The recording quality is good if you hold it right in front of the person speaking, but if you are going to put it on the desk while you sit there and chat with someone, you'd have to strain to hear the words upon playback. The inbuilt speakers are pretty crap, and I have to plug in a pair of headphones in order to hear the playback properly.

However, by far my biggest gripe is this: there is no way to fast-forward or rewind througth a message. Imagine having recorded 20 minutes of a conversation, and then wanting to listen to something that was said near the end of the conversation: you'd have to sit through the whole playback! This drawback is the reason I'm giving such a low rating.

Of course, this recorder is way cheaper than most other digital recorder, but there are a lot of tape recorders that are in its price range. I suppose if you're getting this to take short messages, its size and weight makes it a good choice, but if you're planning on recording long conversations or messages, then you might want to look at something else.

A great product to enhance your memory..........2003-05-04

If you have trouble remembering some things that you should not forget, you need this little device. For light note taking (this machine has a one-hour capacity), this recorder is perfect. It is easy to learn and use, and the sound quality is good. The only complaint I have is that the screen is slightly hard to read. I suppose that can't be helped since the recorder is so small. Regardless, you will enjoy having and using this device.

I bought this same type of a CF card and took it on a trip, i took over 358 pictures and it never even filled up 75% of the space , i had to change my batteries about 6 times, i use the E/2 batts they are great but expensive.
