The Basics
- Hard Drive: The 80 GB hard drive (7200 RPM) is average in size when compared to other budget-minded desktop PCs. It will provide ample storage space for your family digital photos as well as a large digital audio library--but it's not quite enough for editing digital video from camcorders.
- Processor: The Intel Celeron D 335 processor might not be as sexy as a Pentium, but it still gets your work done speedily enough. It has a 2.8 GHz speed with a decently fast 533 MHz front-side bus (FSB) and 256K L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance.)
- Memory: The 256 MB of installed RAM will get you started, but you'll want to add more to handle any kind of multimedia application and most business productivity suites. This desktop has a 2 GB maximum RAM capacity.
- CD/DVD Drive: This desktop includes a speedy combo DVD-ROM/CD-RW drive, with 48x write/read and 32x rewrite speed for CDs and 16x read speed for DVDs.
- Keyboard & Mouse: The SR1410NX comes with a Compaq keyboard and scroller mouse (both with PS/2 connections.
Screen, Graphcs and Sound
The integrated Intel Extreme Graphics video/graphics card (with 64 MB of shared video memory) is adequate for streaming Internet video, but won't be enough for today's demanding immersive 3D games. It also features an integrated audio card and headhphone, microphone, and line-in jacks.
Connectivity and Expansion Slots
For expansion, the SR1410NX has two 5.25-inch external bays (one available), one external 3.5-inch bay (available) and one internal 3.5-inch bay (occupied), and three PCI slots (two available). It comes with a built-in floppy drive and the following external connectors:
- 5 USB 2.0 ports (1 in front, 4 in rear) for connecting a wide range of peripherals--from digital cameras to MP3 players
- 2 FireWire (also known as IEEE 1394 or i.Link) port for connecting digital video camcorders and other peripherals (1 in front, 1 in rear)
- 1 parallel port for connecting older printers and scanners
- 2 PS/2 ports for connecting keyboards and mice

This system comes with the Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 operating system with Advanced Security Technologies, which helps to reduce unwanted downloads and pop-ups while surfing the Web. 5 stars. I'm now a believer. Skeptic, until I heard the difference with my own ears. I have a very nice 2-channel stereo system. PhaseTech speakers, Rotel 130W amp, B&K digital preamp, Pioneer SACD/DVD. I thought I needed a sub, but with this power strip added into my system I don't need a sub. Befor I could barly tell if my speakers were in or out of phase. Now it's obvious that I'm in phase throughout the spectrum. The imaging improved, the bass response is much lower and smoother. No boom, just so much better all the way around. Best bang for my buck yet! I have 3 rooms with gear so I bought 3 HTS PowerCenters; 1000, 1000MKII, and 2000. I noticed the huge improvement with all of them, but if I had too choose one I'd go with the MKII. I wonder if the other more expensive models could be that much better. If you doubt these things are for real, trust me - they made a great improvement to my $3500 stereo system.

I was looking for a way to keep my AC voltage clean for my home stereo. My last stereo amplifier gave up the ghost early due to voltage spikes and such. I purchased HTS1000 after some research. What I did not expect was how greatly the quality of my sound would improve. I was pleasantly surprised! The price vs quality and performance is great considering the much higher priced options. I don't own a "Mark Levinson" amp, but for the average JOE who loves good, clean, accurate music, this is it.

The Powercentre is well made, technical specs match the "official" Amazon review, has a decent manual, and comes complete with short lengths of decent SV1 video cable & telephone cable.
In use with audiophile hi-fi (Linn), there are seemingly perceptable (audio) gains in precision, clarity, range and soundstage. No idea about video effectiveness. Recommended.
UPDATE- dramatically cleaned up cable video signal to TV. Still going strong 4 years later- great investment.

Love this CD Player!.......2007-02-17
I was looking for a small, lightweight CD player with speakers to listen to audiobooks. This Panasonic model hits the mark! Typical Panasonic high quality and light as a feather...mainly because it uses AA batteries and not heavier Cs as most of them require. Also comes with AC adaptor. I purchased from Jeffstar1 on Amazon and have been happy as a clam with the purchase.

The cd unit played nicely.
Has clock, kitchen timer, and auto-off timer which is great for working in the garage and forgetting to turn it off.
But, I purchased the unit for radio reception and was forced to return due to lots of static and bad reception.
Nicely packaged, I just wish radio reception was better.

This is the card I bought to replace my Radeon 9600. So far I am very satisfied with its performance. I was quite dissapointed though to find only drivers and utilities CDs in the box when i received the card. Where are the games as advertised in the product description?? (For that alone I'd have given it 4 stars, but the card for its price is just that good.)

PROS:
After a day of playing around this card seems like a really good value. After installing the card I saw a noticeable speed improvement compared to my old Geforce2 MX400. Windows applications loaded and scrolled faster, and games saw a HUGE improvement in framerates and image quality. I haven't used the VIVO feature yet so I can't comment on it. The card is very quiet.
CONS:
The software bundle is not what it used to be. It no longer comes with bundled games that the MSI website talks about (Ghost Recon, Morrowind, and Duke Nukem) just 2 CDs - an MSI utility disk, and WinDVD Creator. The MSI modified drivers (on the CD, and updated versions on their website) seem buggy. A few EA sports games wouldn't run until I got the drivers direct from the NVIDIA website. Now the games work fine.
BOTTOM LINE:
5 star hardware, 3 star software

I bought this card and have been testing it for a week. I can play all games at (1024x768) with full details with AA and AF enabled with no problems.
Yes, its bigger brothers outperform this card, yet this card is worth half (less than half in some cases) what they cost.
If you want to play your games nice but dont feel like spending 400-500 USD, this card is for you.
btw, the package offered from MSI also includes some real nice bonuses!

This is a great product from MSI, not only has the VIVO (the ability to import and export video) ability but has the impressive FX5900XT chip from Nvidia.
MSI has certainly delivered a card that has given the mainstream market what it was asking for, a graphics solution that offers all the features of the flagship cards and much of the performance, but at a price point that is much more attractive to the wallet.

Like everyone buying a tripod, I'm looking for rock steady images. But just pushing down on the shutter release is enough to cause the entire camera to rock around on the top of this tripod. Even with a 2 second self-timer delay, the camera was still visably coming to rest as the shutter released. Also, when I hold the camera down on the tripod to try to compensate and get a steady image, the legs do not hold their length setting. They "give." I'm currently shopping for a replacement. It's really not well made in my view.

Sunpak makes a number of similar tripods sold at various stores:
the 5800D ($30, Best Buy), the 7001 ($39, Ritz Camera), etc.
2 quick release plates with horizontal bubble levels are included, and a vertical bubble level is built into the tripod, so that you can align your camera horizontally and vertically.
Fairly good value for the money, except for the annoyance that the vertical bubble level in many of these units are way off the mark. If they are going to inlcude a vertical bubble level, the very least they can do is to make sure it is accurate to some degree.
I have reason to believe this is an assembly problem, but what kind of a precision instrument can one expect for around $30 these days?
And I'm not going to pay a couple of hundred bucks more for a tripod with a better vertical bubble level, so there.

Would like to reccommend Zalman Reserator Plus as the best cooling system ever tried. It really does the job perfectly though there is one main concern :-(
The water cooling system is promoted as a quite cooling solution , though in reality the water pump keeps producing some crackling/bubbling noise after a couple of days. That is a SHAME.
I really appreciate the time and money, of course, spent to produce such a prodect, but it does requore changing the water pump sometimes as it malufunctions or stops.
Good product , but needs some pumping refinments ;-)

Zalman Reserator & Modification.......2006-03-12
Reviews for this item were less than enthusuastic suggesting that a source of air blowing on the storage tank might solve the problems. I elected to install a Thermaltake radiator on the backplane of the computer and route the water through there. I reversed the fan on the radiator to suck air from the computer case through the radiator and mounted it over another case exhaust fan. The Thermaltake 120 cm fan is rheostat controlled to increase cooling if necessary. The airflow is then directed against the Zalman storage tank. I'm using it on an AMD X2 64 bit 4200 processor with two nVidia 7800 video boards. I also installed Zalman cooling blocks on the video board CPUs for better cooling and to get rid of the noisy fans that come with them. Removing the fans also decreaes load on the power supply. This lash-up is working well. Even under extreme load the processor water block remains cool as are the water lines. I also suggest adding some anti-freeze to the cooling water as it is an anti corrosion agent and more effective coolant than just pure water.

Completely Silent!.......2005-08-21
Can't hear it when working. My computer is now completely noiseless with this product, a silent Samsung HD, and a quiet power supply. Cpu temp 123F. Not bad for a completely fanless system. I am using distilled water and will try their coolant and might get a better result.
The only thing I would complain is the price. And it did take a while for me to install (had to unscrew motherboard).

This is the best thing that I have ever bought for my PC. This water cooler not only reduce the cpu/gpu temps... my apartment is at least 10 degrees cooler. And as others said... it's nice how quiet things got.
I just can't believe that I waited so long to get one.

Beauty way to go..........2005-06-20
Not only is this a great looking, but it also performs even better than i expected.
I have a p4 3.4e prescott chip that typically runs hot, so at first i bought a thermaltake spark-7 (which was recommended by my motherboards tech support{chaintech}), and it worked pretty good. Under load it would keep my cpu at around 118*f, but i was noisier than your mother-in law. So finally i got ticked off at the thing so i said screw it and went fanless.
The resorator is definatly the beauty way to go. Now under load my cpu hasn't risen above 98.6*f. And without any extra fan noise, Yeah :-).
It also was relatively a snap to install (although the vga water block doesn't come with the kit -$22). And i went ahead and purchased the artic silver thermal grease instead of using the Zalman grease supplied.
I also went ahead and drilled a couple of 5/8 holes in the back of my Aspire SuperAlienII case and that gave it a more pro look.
So yes it give the Zalman Resorator-1 a solid 5 of 5 stars.
if you got the extra cash, i say go for it, eh!
