A great pocket camera, easy to use on and off my PC, at home, outdoors, in disco's. As my first digital camera it's been a pleasure to use.
Sadly, batteries don't last long at all, are expensive to buy, and hard to find. A replacement battery over here costs £7UK, around ($) ?

I bought one the othere week ...and because of its small size, find it to be a great little camera to slip onto my belt or into my fanny or back pack pack ( when weight and space are critical) where it is has proved to be hany for those uexpected moments on the trail or about town. It is definitly easy to use. I just wish the pixal resolution was a little better.

If you are going to purchase this product, and cost is your reason for doing so, I recommend visiting your local Wal-Mart (as almost everyone, in the US at least, has access to one). My reason for saying so is that you can purchase this camera for 59.99 rather than 199.99.
Nice inexpensive digicam.......2002-05-25
I have had one of these cams for about a month now, and I haven't had any of the problems others have had with it, it is possable they had bad units (with something this inexpensive, that will happen more often, happens a lot with more expensive ones also)
I work retail, and sell digicams often... I wish we sold this camera also, I could sell quite a few of them easily.
you pay this little for a digital cam, yes there will be some problems.. the slower memory write speed being one, yes some other cams are super quick, but then again, they didn't cost little either.. some slightly more expensive cams don't give you a way to vie your pics .. this one does, most inexpensive cams (up to $200.00) only have digital zoom (usually 2x) this has a 3x optical zoom, yes other cams are higher pixel count, but this cam isn't meant to replace them, but to be used when carrying one of the bigger cams isn't as convienent. For example, I carry mine all day in my pocket, anytime I wanna take a pic, I can, my Fuji 1400Zoom is quite a bit bigger and heavier, so I tend to leave it home..I have taken some very nice shots with this cam yes you need to hold still while taking them, but it's worth it.
all in all, this cam may not be for everybody, what I suggest is you buy one, and try it, the worst case is you don't liek it and return it

It is a really good camera for a low cost one. I love it. It's small and light and you can take it anywhere. Carry it in your purse, pocket, anywhere. The pictures are nice and almost always you never have to use the flash! Not like regular cameras, even inside you don't need a flash, in fact it's better without the flash. And in completely pitch dark if you use the flash you'd be amazed at how bright the picture is. Great. ...

Minimate data not secure.......2007-04-21
My 250G Minimate has never worked correctly. I backed up about 50 gigs of data, and began experiencing problems such as the disk not mounting, or mounting but showing no files. I sent it to Micronet, which eventually sent it back claiming to have fixed it. It now consistently mounted, but still often showed no data (but would read "200 gigs available" on a 250 gig drive). Long story short, this went on for six months, sending it back to them three times, and each time they returned it with "no repairs necessary" on the paperwork. That's where I am now: a hard drive that doesn't hold data, and a company that doesn't care.
Bottom line: faulty hardware I can understand, but the customer service by Micronet is the worst in the business.
Good extension for Mac Mini, but couple issues..........2005-09-24
This test is actually for 160GB box, which Amazon sent instead of 250GB unit that I ordered.
Pros:
- Box looks nice and fits nicely under Mac Mini,
- If you connect the hub, your Mac Mini will have total 4 (1+3) USB ports and total 2 Firewire ports (the original one on Mac Mini now has cable to the hub),
- Short connecting USB and Firewire connecting cables are included,
- The box does not have any fan to make noise.
Cons:
- The disk drive is pretty noisy, even though the box does not have any cooling fans. So your Mac Mini is not really quiet anymore,
- It would be nice that some USB and Firewire ports are provided on the side or on the front - it is hard to reach connectors which are now under all cables required for Mac Mini,
- It does not turn off when Mac Mini is shutdown, so you have to manually look for the button in the back to turn it off,
- It would be perfect if it includes audio input line, so that we do not need to attach iMic.
Overall this is a good box for all Mac Mini users and probably the best among similar boxes. Some other boxes are more noisy due to internal fans.
I think that 3 stars are fair for this product. If they fix some or all problems listed above, it would deserve 4 or 5 stars.

The camera takes cool pictures and is fun to mess around with but it's just a little cheap. I think that they should take more time to make a better quality camera, not one that you are scared to touch for fear of it breaking. All that aside, again this camera does take fun pictures that turn out well.

Great invention in photography........2007-05-07
Its incredibly fun to shoot with this little thing, it feels really cheap, and is really cheap, yet its worth the money. Just be very delicate with the flash wheel when turning it and definitely don't let it drop as this results in instant death of the camera. The flash filters vary in intensity (red is too bright, blue hardly does anything) but this camera definitely flourishes at nighttime. Its really cool doing a long exposure with a flash at the end, there are plenty of cool tricks you can do with this camera that you can't do with others. I think the main strong point of this camera is that the flash goes off at the end of the shot rather than at the beginning, plus the colors make any shot interesting. An Expensive Piece of Defective Plastic.......2007-04-20
The camera package seemed to have opened before when it came. Plus the camera itself is dirty and doesn't look brand new. The camera is indeed a piece of junk plastic as some other users said. Colorsplash is a fun camera to play with and it produces artistic. But only buy it if you have too much money to waste. Consider buying a Holga if you want a better and cheaper lomo and don't mind shooting 120.

Simplicity is best.......2007-03-14
I replaced my mobo chipset fan with this and have to say that i'm pretty happy with both the noise reduction and its ability to cool. I just installed the thing and have had my computer on for a while and the mobo temp is perhaps +1C higher than with the fan (maybe the thermal paste needs time to set?)
The settings where a bit hard to get correct, but this certainly wasn't the most difficult replacement I've done. Overall, the worse part of the process was removing the motherboard - but once you have this baby on there, you'll reduce the chance to need to remove it again.

Client of mine brought his computer to me with a video issue. Found out his Northbridge fan melted with an extraordinary high loads. I replaced it wit the Zalman heatsink and it works great now and is able to take on the high temp loads.

A motherboard fan died on me and my computer was overheating, so I got this to cool things down. It works great and the best part is, it is not a fan so and will never go bad on you.

I installed this on an ABit K7NS-Ultra MOBO that is already water cooled via the Zalman Reservator1. I have my video card cooled by the same system, and the processor(AMD XP3000) is overclocked 500MHz. I have 4 sticks of ram in the 4 sockets, and I have no problems with this hunk of aluminum in place of the fan that was stock. It has been about a year now since I installed it, and still no problems even though I have this running 24hrs a day on average 5 days a week since the install.

I bought this for an Abit NF7s-2 motherboard although it looks adjustable enough to fit just about any Northbridge. I got it mainly because I was already buying some other things from Coolerguys and it was on sale for $4.95. this cooler doesn't get hot at all, so either it is working great or the Northbridge isn't really heating up in the first place. my rationale for buying it was two part 1) I wanted a non-moving cooler in case the fan ever did stop working and I didn't notice & 2) I wanted to eliminate the noise from the fan in the first place. The first part I achieved, the second point, to be honest, I can't really hear a difference although there probably is one. In conclusion, this really isn't a must have cooler, but it looks neat and does what it advertises. I only gave it 4 stars because the two sets of screws that come with it for mounting are so small that most people will probably have difficulty with them, plus heaven help you if you drop them.
