I've been using the Nomad 2 MG for over a year, now. When I first tried to install the software, I had some problems with the docking cradle not seeing the player. I was suspicious that it had problems with my computer hardware (motherboard, etc.). When I tried the installation on another computer, everything worked great! Shortly afterwards, I replaced that original system with a faster one and the software works fine, now, as a matter of fact, the files just FLY to the player!

I take that MP3 player with me on rough mountain bike rides, snowboarding, running, commutes to work, and (sometimes) while I'm at work. I've dropped it numerous times, but still I have had NOT ONE SINGLE PROBLEM with it, yet. My cradle has not broken- maybe I'm just lucky. For those who have none functioning cradles, there are updated drivers online for free- that could solve some of your problems. Admittedly, I have deleted a song or two, because of poor button placement, but if you're capable of learning, you're not going to do that more than a few times, at best.

For the price and the performance, this unit ROCKS! With its capabilities to expand to the 128MB card, that's a lot of songs! Get this MP3 player! It's totally worth it!

Still working after 2 years.......2002-08-08

Felt I had to add this after reading all these reviews. I got my II MG over 2 years ago and it still works fine. Only problem is the display sometimes flickers on and off, but if you tap it it comes back. I use this for the gym, travel and in my car. I've dropped it numerous times and gotten it wet and it still works fine. I have deleted songs accidently as others seem prone to as well, and agree button placement was poor. Overall this player has been great, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Creative product.

I owned this player for about 5 months before its cradle stopped functioning. There are two main faults with it that lead me to advise against this MP3 player.

The first is its poor design. All of the function buttons are located along its sides. In order to hold the thing in any natural and comfortable way, your fingers have no other place to go except over the ultra-sensitive function buttons. The slightest change in pressure will activate any button you are touching. You'll find yourself accidently pausing, stopping or (worst of all) DELETING a song as it is playing very often unless you adopt the incredibly annoying practice of locking the buttons whenever you aren't using them. But unlike some other players, this also locks the volume button- which means you'll spend lots of time unlocking-changing volume-locking-unlocking-skipping a song-locking. Ugh.

And why any designer would put a one-touch delete button right near your general function buttons is beyond me. Make sure you memorize the layout of the buttons, because it absolutely stinks to delete a song when you just wanted to pause it and there is no second chances once you hit the extremely innocuous and sensitive delete button.

The second drawback of this player is how often it seems to break inexplicably. My player is fine, but if I want to use it anymore I'll have to get a new cradle. My cradle just decided to stop functioning one day. It wasn't jostled or banged around, it wasn't dusty or submerged in soda- nothing. I'd chock it up to bad luck if I hadn't gone on the web the next day and found dozens of unsolved breakages involving this player and its cradle.

This unit is slick looking and tiny, but not worth the trouble. Look elsewhere for your MP3 player needs. You can do much better.

I formerly owned a Nomad II, which broke after about a year. I then purchased a Nomad II MG, which I had to return because the charging cradle didn't function. I purchased another one, and that one stopped working after about thirty days. I would steer clear of this frail product.

(P.S. Why would anyone with an IQ higher than a chimp buy three of these things? I couldn't find another one with expandable memory and an FM tuner).

Even if it didn't have chronic defects, the Nomad II MG is poorly designed. It comes with a protective leather carrying case that (1) can't be clipped or attached to anything and (2) doesn't provide an easy way to access any of the buttons on the unit. I ended up taking scissors to my leather case to make it slightly usable.

The buttons are located on the sides of the unit, where most people usually grab the unit. This results in frequent accidental button presses.

A couple of months after I got mine, I had the battery-clip problem that others have described. It was easily fixed with aluminum foil, but honestly, battery clips have been manucatured for decades without much problem; why is it such a recurring problem here?

Finally, after a little over a year of use, my docking station isn't acknowledging that the unit is docked. Therefore I can neither recharge the unit nor change the songs. The player is now useless to me.

From reading the other reviews, it's obvious the problems I've had with mine aren't an isolated case. So if you want a well-designed, well-manufactured, reliable mp3 player, DON'T buy the Creative Nomad II MG.

Awesome Computer.......2005-12-20

I had an Acer Aspire for about 7 years and i must say i never had one problem with it, the hard drive however did get a virus on it and had to be replaced, but that was my fault, not the computers. Also don't let people tell you that you HAVE to have a Pentium or AMD processor, Celerons are just as efficient, and frankly i've been around computers for many years and can't even tell the difference. There is also plenty of Acer software to mess with including, NTI CD-DVD creator, which in my opinion is way better than Nero. The BIOS is very accessible as well, you can turn down the amount of RAM you wish to share with the ATI Radeon graphics card, which increases your performance a bit, then when your ready to game just crank it back up. I myself will probably get a little more RAM just to make it that much quicker. And who cares if you can't turn the game resolution up so high that it blows eyes out of there sockets, if your looking for that just go by an Xbox 360 or wait for the PS3 and Nintendo Revolution, games on this system are very playable. This is just an all around great computer, its actually a steal for this price. So don't go with what everyone else is having, HP, Emachines(which is crap), Sony, etc. Go against the grain and stick with Acer, it will stick with your for many years to come. Also i shouldnt neglect to mention that this computer has HYPER-THREADIING, check the BIOS and see. Computers easily cost 800+ with HT technology in them. Also the hiss on the speakers i use is louder than the PC itself, very impressed costumer here. I had an Emachines which i gladly sent back to TD, it was junk, LOUD, cheaply made, and the DVD burner would'nt burn ziltch. This is a great computer at a great price. And its Brand NEW not refurbed.

Three major factors contributed to my decision to purchase the Pentax DCF MP 10x28 binoculars: 1) technical specifications 2)good reviews 3)Pentax brand.

The DCF MPs are rubber-clad for easy handling and shock protection. I relish the way they feel in my hands and nestle into my eye sockets. My average-size hands fold naturally around the rubber-clad lens barrels, my right index finger directly on the large (28mm diameter), silky smooth center focus knob's ribbed, slightly bulging profile, which rotates through 270 degrees counter-clockwise as the focus goes from just under 10 feet to infinity. Due to their small size, light weight, and ergonomic design, it is not difficult to hold these binoculars steadily for long periods.

The Pentax 10x28 DCF MP is a nitrogen-filled binocular, a feature that helps make them highly water resistant, submersible to one meter (Japan Industrial Standard Class 6), and fogproof.

Pentax was a pioneer in lens coating, and their Super-Multi-Coated process is featured on these binoculars, and reflected in the green sheen of the lens glass. Even more impressive are the DCF MP's phase-coated BaK-4 prisms. According to Pentax, the phase-coating cancels optical distortions created by the wave front of light passing through the prisms, resulting in improved contrast and resolution. I believe it. The view through these glasses is superb - bright and contrasty from edge to edge.

About the only negative notes concern the included accessories. My biggest gripe is the lack of a belt loop on the case, which is a tad too small or snug anyway to allow for quick extraction (quick draw). When birding, I like my binoculars hanging on their strap around my neck when not in my hands, but when scrambling around, hiking, or engaged in other activities, I prefer to stow the binoculars in a more secure location, ideally in their padded case affixed to my belt. I'm also somewhat mystified at Pentax's failure to provide lens caps for the objective lenses. Finally, I don't much care for the joined eyepiece caps either as they are balky to remove. I would use eyecaps in the field only when it rains. Water won't hurt these binoculars, but raindrops on your eyepieces will definitely spoil your view. At any rate, there should be aftermarket accessories available to remedy these minor shortcomings, or it may be possible to alter the case to accommodate a belt loop.

But in the final analysis, these little Pentax DCF MP 10x28 binoculars have elegant looks, are a delight to use, and provide a bright, crisp, constrasty image. I found mine online for just over $200 delivered to my front door.

Great wireless / wired router. This thing has very good range, signal strength all over house. The construction is high quality.

The web setup program needs some validation though. You can save invalid length WEP keys to the thing & then you have to login via a cable to fix it... This makes it anoying for experienced users, and impossible for new users to setup a secure connection.

Also, some of the newer firmwares are kinda buggy with bittorrent p2p transfers. Not all of them though.

The DMZ feature is nice for my gaming pc.

I like it better than the cheapo netgear ones & given the marginal price increase for this one over a netgear, I'd buy it anyday.

Motorola Wireless Broadband Router is good. Inexpensive. Easy to install. Instructions are clear. Just works. Is apparently secure (how does on ever know?). Recommended.

Easy to set up.... but problems over time........2006-11-22

The wr850g router seemed like it was a good buy at first. Was easy to set up and had a lot of options for encryption with a nice user interface when changing firmware settings.

However, over time this piece of equipment has proven itself to be highly unreliable. It freezes up a couple of times each day, overnight, and is even more unstable when there are no hard ethernet links to it (in the DSL port, or the 4 ethernet jacks). Over the course of three years it has shown all the symptoms of having electrostatic discharge (ESD) erosion, getting steadily worse until the point where it will freeze up within minutes of resetting, or will not even get to the point of connecting to the wireless devices or DSL modem. The reset algorithim is itself buggy, sometimes neccessitating the manual plugging in of ethernet cables one at a time.

Overall, I would not reccomend this product to a gamer, nor to someone who does financial transactions online. A light internet user will find the experience frustrating, though workable.

After a horrible experience with Linksys, this router works beautifully. I am not a computer geek in any shape or form but the set up for this went quickly and smoothly. No problems whatsoever.

Good if you don't expect too much........2006-04-29

Don't expect this to be a perfect camera. The photos tend to be dark (no flash), and the quality is not great. That said, I have a camera in my pocket to take snapshots of events that I wouldn't bother bringing a bigger camera to. For me, it's worth a few dollars to have a camera with me, even if I use a different camera for planned shooting.

Even at top quality, it takes enough photos. The software is easy to use and the digital scrapbook is cute and easy to use, though not designed for printing. The webcam feature works very well, especially with Skype. Just install the camera, plug it in, start Skype, and away you go. The film option works, but only for a few seconds. For my needs, the camera is worth the price.

MAKE SURE:
1. Load the software before you plug the camera into your computer.
2. This camera only works with a PC.
3. It uses a AAA battery and has a reasonable life span. But if your battery goes dead, you lose your photos.

I bought this CD drive to replace an expensive DVD drive that broke down about the day after the warranty expired. I bought this because it was cheap. It was easy to install, no software to mess with, and reads faster then my old DVD drive. This is a great no frills replacement drive (it does not included cables if you are installing new) at a wonderful price.

Well when you buy a CD-Rom you want the CD's to be read and to be read fast, thats about all and this does just that and it is friggin cheap so BUY IT! :)
