Not that great..........2007-09-13

We bought one of these for my daughter and within a month the thing would freeze up. She sent it back for repairs and left the battery in. They fixed it and sent it back without the battery and told her it would cost $40 dollars for a new battery. I was mad and wrote the head of their public relations department a letter and Creative called me the next morning and had a battery overnighted to my daughter. (hint: go to the public relations for fastest results). Then it happened again and they would send a new one (didn't have to call their PR after the first one). This happend 3 more times till my daughter quit using her sony sport headphones. Then after about 3 months the headphone jack started having problems, so she brought it to me and I fixed it. And it has worked fine since then. The same thing happened to my video zen:m using the sony headphones. Evidently there something with sony headphones and creatives MP3 players. Now my daughter has a ipod nano and seems really happy with it.

Good until..........2007-03-16

I bought my Zen Micro about a year ago. I loved it because it had great features at a great price. The music is pretty good and it holds a lot. The radio is good once you get it to tune. The way it is designed is great and the voice recording is useful.

A few weeks ago though, my problems with it started. If you charge the battery when it is half-way, it makes the battery last a LOT less. It started dieing very soon. I tried to charge it, but when you take out the battery and turn it on it goes to a recovery screen. You can't get out of it easily. It is helpful but never delete the firmware. It says you can reload it onto the player through a USB plug, but you can't easily at least. Since it was more than 60 days old, they wouldn't let me talk to them over the phone. Also, it was more than a year ago so they wouldn't even help me by e-mail. They left me with a small "knoledge database" that didn't help at all. They did say though that for $12.99 you could get a 30 minute session with a "Creative tutor." I took a search to finally find the phone number. Finally I got in contact with a person and told him my problem. He told me that I could send it in and get it repaired for $60 to $100 plus $12.99 for shipping back and whatever I pay for shipping to get there. Disgusted, I decided not to pay, and just got a new player.

So I am here to tell you that while the Zen Micro might be good, the service is absolutely terrible. Even Apple which I heard doesn't have great service has better service than Creative.

Don't buy! Fine product with bad hardware problems........2007-01-20

I got this when it first came out and like everyone else, I had the headphone jack problem. Creative wanted me to pay 90 some dollars to get it fixed. Yeah ight, for a major defect that was THEIR problem and if you weren't under warrent then too bad?!?! Not only that but the software wouldn't let me well do anything. I had to go install a new media center just to sync music. This would have been the Ipod killer if it didn't have crap service and hardware problems. Don't waste your money on Creative.

Good Initially but Won't Work Now.......2007-01-18

I loved this little guy when I first bought it (about 18 months ago). Now, it won't connect via USB (maybe one time out of 10) and it freezes up when playing. I've tried everything to clean it up and correct the problem, but it still freezes. Sadly, I'll be buying a replacement from somebody else because I liked the software and easy of use.

As with everyone else, I have to wiggle and jiggle my headphone jack to get it even remotely close to working. This makes it not only impossible to use when running, but even when just walking or moving at all. For the same price you could get an iPod or better.

I have enjoyed using my little Zen. It travels nicely in its little pouch and keeps a battery charge well. It has a lock feature so you can have it in your pocket and not have to worrie about pressing buttons. The price is Wonderful conpared to ipods. And i can do more on my little Zen!

Nice Radio but not that powerfull.......2007-06-07

We purchased these radios for 2 reasons:

1) We wanted 2 radios with 2 separate chargers and this is one of the few sets with 2 separate docking chargers.

2) We wanted radios that had the same channels as my son's (6 yrs old) small radio.

So this met both of those needs.

The only problems I've had so far is it doesn't have as far a range as it says. All these radios are rated with a range in an open field with no obstructions. In a normal suburb these radios will have a range of about 1 to 1.5 miles because of trees. It didn't matter for us because we mostly wanted to use them around the house, but if you expect to go camping with these don't expect to be able to get too far away from one another.

The other problem is one of the chargers already blew out and I have to find out how to get it replaced.

"Picture-Rolling" Problem.......2006-05-26

Bought Director's Cut Take 2 in 2004. The problem is that about 10 minutes into capturing analog video the picture starts to roll, like VHS with tracking problem.
Support response time is excellent, but after over a year of correspondence and 2 free firmware updates, the problem ramains.
I do not see any more need to buy capture devices now. The newer versions of video cameras have "pass-through" utility that can be used to capture analog videos.

6 good reasons it's better than the others.......2004-06-24

Taking those old VHS tapes and sticking them on your Mac or PC is now so easy that any box will do it right? To some extent, the answer is yes. But for anyone with a real desire to edit their footage, keep the quality, check what's actually happening while it's being digitized, then the Miglia Director's Cut Take 2 is absolutely the answer.

This list is in no particular order, just important 'stuff' I've learned;
1.The image output quality is superior to the other brands I've used - and discarded - in this price range. The reason is the chipset.
2. It's the only device that has an audio output for headphones on it - this means that, when editing that speech in Final Cut or other editing solution, you can hear when to make the clip - not just see it. Particularly useful when you want to edit out something that you can hear but not see! The other brands require a whole set of extra cables and plugging and unplugging - a reall mess!
3. The Directors Cut supports dual outputs - so you can see exactly how it will look through a preview monitor / screen while recording. Why wait to record it and playback to see if it's ok?
4. All the conections are at the rear of the box making cabling tidy - the 'others' have cables at front and rear making a mess of your workspace!
5. All the cables ship with this that you're possibly going to need. The others give the resellers a chance to 'sell' profitable cables to you.
6. It can be powered directly from the Firewire port - no need for a power supply - so on-the-road editing is now a reality

This thing has won very high praise from some European journals and I thoroughly recommend it. Well done Miglia

No difference from Epson brand.......2007-05-12

I used only Epson cartridges for by Epson inkjet for years, but they are so overpriced...I decided to try these and have found them equivalent in every way (except that the printer recognizes them as "foreign" and prompts me to be REALLY SURE I want to use them).

About the size of two DVD cases stacked on top of one another, the DV-L70U Moviegoer weighs just over two pounds with the supplied lithium battery pack, making it lighter than competing models. Soundwise, the dual front speakers below the screen are merely adequate. However, since portable DVD players lend themselves to solitary viewing, most users will use headphones. We recommend that you purchase a high-quality set. We also strongly recommend that you purchase a carrying case, given the cost and delicacy of the liquid crystal display.

I purchased this player over a year ago and have used it constantly with no problems. People marvel at the outstanding picture and ease of operation. I cant say enough about this player except get one,compare it to others and you will see my point of view.

My boyfriend gave me this for my birthday and by far it is one of the best presents ever! The picture, sound and overall quality of this player is incredible. You forget that you are only watching a 7 inch screen! I highly recommend this product!

There are not enough words for me to describe how much i love this device. But like everything in the world there are pros and cons of having anything no matter how much you pay for it.

cons: This baby will heat up pretty bad with the portable battery. I recommend watching only one movie at a time with it (about 2 hours).

pros: I can take all the fun of having a dvd player at home anywhere. it comes with audio/video outputs built into the player, a headphone outlet, and one of my favorites is the ability to adjust those hideous 2.35:1 widescreen settings. The greatest thing I love about the dvd palyer is that it is so small, and yet the sound is rich and clear as well as the picture.

This dvd player is a must buy for any electronics freak. Or if you are a big kid like me and love grown-up toys.

Great Value for Portable DVD Player.......2002-01-07

I considered the top named brands and top sellers in the catagory, namely Sony, Panasonic, and Toshiba. When I compared feature for feature vs. economic cost, the Sharp DV-L70U beat others hand down. It does what is supposed to do very well. It is designed to be a portable device and it more than meets my expectations. The only drawback that I've found is the similarity of the buttons on the remote. But I'll learn and get over it.
