After two weeks of great performance it just stopped working. I put in a disc and the TV screen just displays "READ" forever. I tried it with several discs with the same result. Funny, I bought this unit because of all the great reviews. I guess it's just a crap-shoot with cheap electronics from little-known manufacturers! At least Amazon is willing to give me a refund!

This fantastic DVD player is value priced, but packs the features of many more expensive players on the market. As a fan of imports and VCDs, I got it because it played DVDs from all territories and VCD/SVCD without a hiccup. It plays MP3s and even JPEG files very well too. All through composite videos, compression artifacting is almost non-existent. We're talking extra-crisp visuals and sound. This has become my primary DVD player, unseating a much more expensive DVD player thanks to all the features. I've got to say, for people looking for an entry-level player, this is THE player. And for anyone who's big on imports and want solid features, this is still a great consideration.

I have owned this television since christmas, and i have found it to be just as crisp and clear as my friends sony wega flat screen tv. The soundis great if you don't have a home theater setup, but beware at high volumes on the tv's speakers the screen may start to distort slighty on the edges, some may not even notice. I would say the volume has to be turned up to 50, half the volume on the television, which is very loud compared to most tv's. Other than that, this tv is a stunner for the price...

I'm very happy with the Phillips, I oscillated between that and several other flat screens, but I enjoy the features, the layout and design and the instructions are pretty straightforward.
Great picture,good sound quality from stereo speakers built in and it also has an M-link device that lets you hook up other devices and use your Phillips tv remote as a master.
I even managed to get the close caption to work in English on a DVD that was in a foreign language. I had the abiltiy to turn the captioning on and off which I liked. I'm not sure if this translation feature, was just for that DVD or if it will work with others. I'll update this to let you know. But all in all. Good value for the money. No regrets!

Decent center channel speaker.......2007-08-23
I got this to go with the nanostats in a modest surround sound setup. I found it to be a little on the week side and it took a bit of futzing with and positioning to get it to be clear and fit in the mix. Probably because it was in a drawer made for a center channel speaker, but I had to actually put some supports in to make it fire correctly forward. Taking the cover off helped too. Another problem that most people won't have is that I was moving into a place with hardwood floors, no rug, little furniture and 16 foot ceilings. All these things don't bode well for clear dialog but the Nano CC did a pretty good job.
Anyway, in the end I got it working really well and now I don't even notice it, as it should be.

Easiest installation ever.......2005-03-21
I bought this drive as a 2nd drive for video editing. Installing it couldn't be easier. The hardest part was opening the case up to screw the drive into its bay. After the included 4 screws were in, I connected the included SATA cable, plugged in the power connector and closed up the computer.
Maxtor's included utility CD quickly (in less than a minute) got the drive ready to use and I was in business. The drive has performed flawlessly and the data rates are more than enough for video capture and editing. I have no complaints about this drive and highly recommend it.

This zipper case is actually padded with cheaper polyethylene foam--and only on the 2 large-panel faces of the bag only. The polyethylene foam panels are encased in a jacket of wafer-thin neoprene on the outside and nylon in the inside. Note that the edges of this bag are comprised solely of the thin neoprene/nylon shell, which I think most people would agree is not sufficient padding for your precious laptop.
The only reason I don't give the ICON4-BLK bag a lower rating is that I've seen worse construction. Buyer beware--don't buy this bag sight unseen. Outer dimensions are 14.75 x 12.75 x 1.25 inches.
