Excellent Low Priced Switch for Home and Office.......2007-08-18

I have typically been a Linksys only customer, but being frustrated with some of their products lately I decided to make a switch, and I'm glad I did. It's compact design makes it easy to tuck it away. I have yet to have a problem with the 2 that I bought, one for home and one for work. They have been running 6 months and counting with all the ports active in both locations.

The 5 port switch works great. Unfortunately I needed five ports that I could use. This unit only has 4 ports availible. The fifth port is tied to the dsl modem. If you only need 4 ports, this unit is great.

Great box, great price.......2005-10-04

This is a nice little switch. It has a rugged case, rear ports, and frontside link lights. It took about 30 seconds to replace my Base10 hub with this device and it has been silently blinking along ever since.

Excellent 5-Port 10/100 Switch.......2005-08-22

I've been using this switch non-stop for over two years now and have never had any kind of problem. It's a great little switch that's definitely worth the money. All the ports are in the back, the casing has a brushed aluminum look, and it's fanless, so it's definitely possible to leave it sitting on the desk. Since the "switching fabric" supports 1GB/sec, that means each of the five ports can carry their full 200MB/sec (100MB/sec each way) capacity without problem. The darn thing doesn't even get warm. Definitely a good buy (I rate it at 5 stars out of 5).

One note: If I were to buy another switch today, I'd probably go for the 10/100/1000 version of the same switch (the D-Link DGS-1005D). Darn near every computer sold these days has a Gigabit Ethernet connection built into it. So, having that switch would most likely let people take advantage of the added speed on their local networks (assuming they had Cat 5e or Cat 6 cabling -- however, it wouldn't make any difference across the internet since only a rare few cable modem even connect at 100Mb/sec and I don't know of any that connect at 1 GB/sec). But, since that switch costs about twice as much as this one, there's a bit of a trade-off.

Small, simple but reliable.......2002-05-28

I have had this equipment for a year now. In the past 11 months I have used it at my home network with an ISDN connection, but last month we upgraded to ADSL and the result is even better.
My home is in Guatemala City and on this small country we have plenty of communication technology that makes this kind of services posible.
Again, is the best equipment your money can buy, zero problems. I really recomend it.

I have been using 780 pair for couple of months now...these speakers are the best mission has to offer. Excellent sound imaging. Slightly on the brighter side of sound spectrum. Compact and well designed looks. Only gripe is atleast a 100 hrs break-in period before it starts to show what its capable off.

Nice card that can finally access larger drives.......2003-03-20

got this card for almost 2 years and almost got the new promise TX2 133 but found many people had problems. I never had any problems with these. Easy to install, plug in and it ask you for the drivers in 95, 98 and Win2k and restart and that is it. People that had problems was they did not put the jumpers at the back of the drive and set it to Active on Fdisk. Transfer rates is very high and no corruption to data. TX2 had corruption of data according to several sites. Got the new western digital 160GB andupdated the BIOS and I was able to access it. Cool is I had this card nearly 2 years ... and with the new BIOS I can use this for another 3 years more.... it is definitely a deal. Good job Maxtor!! Going to find a few more for my other Lan computers. problem is everything is so high here.... US is so lucky.

Do not buy!!.......2002-06-19

This card did not function well for me. I do video editing and tried to copy a 11GB file. It crashed Win2k. I've tested multiple times, and still didn't work.

I ended up getting a Promise board (133tx), and worked like a charm. Makes me wonder about Maxtor, especially since it looks like they OEM from Promise. (Promise chips are on the Maxtor board).

Good board, incompatible BIOS.......2001-11-13

I spent three days trying to implement in my three year old 300 Mhz PC. Award 4.5 BIOS seemed to be a bottle neck. I could not access more than 30MB of my new 60Mb hard drive. Since I could access this through the mother board IDE, I am selling the board.

It was a nice idea, just a limited system.

Great Ultra DMA Card.......2001-10-12

The Maxtor K01PCAT100 UDMA 100 PCI Card is an good buy even if you don't have UDMA devices, it allows you to put four addition IDE devices in your computer, also it took me less than ten minutes to install physically and set up the software. In addition if you it is a very "smart? card, so far every device I've plugged into it has require MINIMAL set up. This product is a great buy.

Well made phone pouch.......2007-04-01

This phone pouch is very well constructed and should last for many years. The tab that secures the phone also acts as a spring loaded "pull out" device - a feature that I have found to be invaluable. The only reason that I rated this product less than 5 stars is that the leather has an extremely strong smell - and it is not very appealing. You can smell it on your belt and worse yet, the phone takes on the smell. I sprayed the pouch with cologne which substantially reduced the odor. Aside from the smell, this product exceeded my expectations.

These discs work just fine on my PC and DVD player. Sometimes I have to erase/format new discs before I can write to them but that's not a big hassle. Rewrites aren't a problem.

I got a 25 pack of these and only 3 barely worked, the rest just won't read in both my deck and DVD drive and of course can't burned the second time. Bad Bad Bad!!!!

Shop around before you buy.......2005-12-19

We have had our Sharp DVD player/recorder for a year and we are now having problems with it. First of all, the "open/close" takes about one minute before opening. Secondly, I have had many brand new, out of the box DVDs to lock up on the screen in the middle of a movie and then I have to literally unplug the DVD player, then plug it back to eject the DVD, which takes exactly one minute to do. It is more trouble than it is worth. Don't waste your money on this particular brand....shop around and ask around before purchasing.

Recording problems, werid design.......2005-04-20

From day one I have the same problem with this dvd recorder
It will not record to dvd-rw discs;I tried 5 different brands with no luck; I took the recorder to an authorized repair center and they couldn't fix it; they need the codes or firmware to reflash the unit but Sharp never gave the codes to the shop

Sharp does not answer my emails, and I had been sending them for weeks; stay away, there is no support
And yes, the remote is a joke; who could imagine the on screen display to be hidden under other buttons? the part flip open remote is not easy to use and if you try to fast forward or rewind a dvd, it does as in little image jumps, not continuisly

Very good quality, but a few small problems.......2004-11-19

The recording quality of this recorder is excellent in SP or FINE mode, and pretty good in LP mode, but I found the EP mode could be better. Variable bit rate recording allows you to record up to an extra eight minutes in FINE mode.

There is a defect in this recorder that will not allow you to set a recording timer for channels 54-60. Sharp wanted me to send mine in so they could fix the problem, but it wasn't that big of a deal to me, so I kept mine as-is.

This recorder will absolutely not record anything copyrighted, so those of you looking to copy your store-bought DVDs will be disappointed.

Operation of this machine is very quiet, I know some of the others can be quite loud. The remote control is very comprehensive, including about every function I could think of and more. There is a slight delay between pressing a button on the remote and the recorder performing the desired function. This is almost unnoticeable unless you are trying to fast-forward to or pause at an exact point.

Overall, I would recommend this product. It has more outputs and as many analog inputs as any other recorder (although the lack of DV input may turn some people away), and excellent recording quality in FINE and SP make this recorder stand out. A fairly easy-to-use GUI doesn't hurt either. Just don't expect it to duplicate Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings, or timer record channels 54-60.

First Dvd Recorder.......2004-11-15

This is the first dvd recorder I've owned. I basicly wanted to burn my old vcr tapes and record from the TV. The Sharp DV-SR3U records dvd-r,dvd-rw discs. Rewritable discs can be recorded in video and VR mode.DVD-RW recorded in the VR mode can be edited after recording,but will only playback on this machine. The dvd-r, dvd-rw(video mode) seem to play in most standard players. The operation manual is 100 pages, well written, but somewhat complicated for a non-tech person. I don't like the flip open remote, but most often used keys are on top. Easy to set up timer recording from TV. Overall this is an excellent recorder and fulfills my needs!

The WORST.......2004-10-28

I have 4 DVD recorders.I have 3 Panasonics (great machines) & wanted a 4th but because of the IR remote I was limited to 3.So I needed another brand and SHARP had a good price (it seemed, incorrectly)so I got the SHARP.It is an amazing BAD machine.It doesn't work correctly and getting it fixed is a nightmare. I just sent it back for the second time,it returned today and they fixed NOTHING.It is a true Nightmare,STAY AWAY!!!
