The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is a Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus 2.0 4-port hub with backward compatibility to USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out-of-the-box industry standard that allows connection of up to four USB peripherals or devices to your USB-ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H4 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system. The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is designed to provide quick and easy access to the four type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H4 to the host computer, or another USB hub enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. High Speed Hub.......2007-08-26
As advertised, easy to connect, takes little space, and works like a charm. It pays to double check that the equipment attached will work on a 2.0 hub. For example, my Epson C62 printer will not work with a USB 2.0 port so that is not connected to the new hub. My camera, iPod etc. work great with the new hub.
Works on Mac and PC.......2007-07-05
I have two D-Link DUB-H4 and just ordered two more. It works great on my PC and Mac computers. Had this adapter for two years without problems with any device (scanner, mice, external hard drives). Don't know why some have experienced problems. I connect the DUB-H4 to a USB 2.0 port. Maybe those having problem are connected to a USB 1.1 port. Having the USB ports on the front of the DUB-H4 and the power and computer connector on the back is convenient and (IMHO) should be the industry standard. A big plus for this hub is it's own AC power supply. Great product that performs as advertised.
Seems to work fine, has a somewhat cheap feel..........2007-06-05
Seems to work fine, but the hub has a "cheap" plasticy feel that I didn't expect. The DUB-H4 works fine, but if I was plugging/unpluggin a lot from it (which I'm not) I might be a bit worried about durability. If you're just going to plug in and leave it, or change infrequently, no worries.

Always read the product's description beofe getting involved with something that you are to familiar with. I rushed into this one and I have regretted it ever since. Sometimes,
you just have to learn from your mistakes and then do it right the second time.

It's a hub. What more can I really say about it? I haven't had any problems with it. It works great to expand my USB capacity on my Mac.
The only issue is that it's not heavy enough to stay up on its own, so when all the cables are plugged in, it tips backwards and doesn't sit on the desk.

Is your hard drive bursting at the seams? If you're pushing maximum capacity and need to add another hard drive, check out Maxtor's 11.5-GB 3.5-inch EIDE Ultra-DMA/33.3 hard drive kit, which will give you more than enough room to grow.
The kit ships with an installation guide, MaxBlast Plus installation software, mounting screws, an IDE interface cable, and 5.25-inch mounting brackets for installing the drive in a 5.25-inch bay mount. The step-by-step instructions walk you effortlessly through the intimidating process of installing the drive; we had ours set up in less than 30 minutes.
We installed the drive in a 3.5-inch bay as the secondary parent to our primary Fujitsu hard drive. The drive comes configured as a parent device, but you can configure it to be a child device or use the cable select with the included jumpers. We connected a free power cable to the drive and an IDE interface cable from the drive to the secondary IDE slot. Once all cables were connected, we rebooted our computer.
We ran the setup BIOS program and configured our drives in a matter of minutes. We then rebooted the system to the MaxBlast software, which walked us through configuration and partitioning of the drive. Take note that if your system BIOS is pre-1997, it may not see partitions greater than two GB.
With rotational speeds of 5,400 RPM, access speeds of nine milliseconds and an Ultra DMA interface, the 11.5-GB drive is a first-rate performer and certainly a great addition to any computer in need of serious storage.

An excellent hard drive at an excellent price; speedy, too. Incredibly easy to set up - a program such as Drive Copy is recommended for transfering the content of one HD to this new one.
About the best IDE HD.......1999-11-21
This hast to be the best EIDE HD on the market. Not size-wise, but speed wise. This is a red hot hard drive! I really don't have anything to say bad about it yet. When ever Windows would crash my old hard drive would have an error or two. Not ONE on the Maxtor.
Maxtor is good.......1999-11-18
This is a rebuttal of the folks at the bottom. i work in the IT industry and have used several Maxtor drives. They are still going strong and have been for at least a couple of years. Western Digital on the other hand, has given me all kinds of problems. My girlfriend's computer is on it fourth WD drive in a year and a half. I am on my second in 9 months. Western Digital costs more and gives less. Go with a Maxtor or Seagate.
MAXTOR IS THE BEST.......1999-11-07
This is a great drive at 33.3 and 5400 rpm. This is perfect for those that want additional space but don't want to pay for Ultra 66 drives and the card needed to run at those speed.
Space and Speed.......1999-10-20
This drive was perfect for my network server. I am using the drive as an on-line back-up device. You can't beat the Price Per GB, under $11.30! That's almost 1 Cent per MB! Plus, random access makes this a better option than tape for REAL TIME on-line back-up. If you have a sub 233MHz machine, this is a great choice. (be careful of BIOS limitations). Check out the Maxtor web site for a look at their high speed, high capacity drives. They have announced a 40.9GB drive and are shipping a 36GB. I guess that's why they call themselves MAXsTOReage!
