I was able to get this product up and running very effectively with my NetGear WPN824 Mimo Router in spite of reports in other reviews to the contrary. Kudos to E. Isaacov for very clear instructions--I would just add this direction from J. Lau to the list--After setting your new range extender, "Go back to Control Panel to reset your Internet Protocol back to the original setting: mine was 'Obtain an IP address automatically.'"
Once I understood that, I was able to set up quickly and effectively. It is working great.

I agree with the others' sentiments - the bottom line is that this range extender WILL NOT WORK with a large number of routers on the market, including ones by D-Link. I have the top-of-the-line D-Link wireless router, and only after 2.5 hours navigating the atrocious customer service queues with no problem resolution, did I directly ask them, "is this product known not to work with this router?" They said they would check their list, and returned to say, "Yes, this may be the problem - it is not compatible with your router."

This stark fact perhaps ought to be one of the first things that they lead with in their troubleshooting methodology - in addition, it should really be something that they advertise on the packaging, or at least somewhere in the product manual ("this product is incompatible with the following routers"). The fact that they seem to suppress, or at best fail to mention, this vital information, leads me to call into question their sales intentions. Their omission has definitely produced a very negative customer experience on my part, and thus I am here through the only feedback mechanism we have available to us to help each other - the product review - which I rarely do. So all I can say is, if you are interested in supporting this product with your money, make certain that you first check for compatibility via a knowledgeable source, as otherwise, even if you follow the instructions to the letter, it will not work for you (you will be able to log in to the device via wired network, you will be able to associate your computer wirelessly, but you will not be able to send or receive information over the wireless). Good luck!

BEWARE FOR MASOCHISTS ONLY.......2007-08-13

Istall only to find inoperative as I have received a defective unit. At own expense return unit and weeks later receive a replacement. Install new unit that seems to be too easy to believe - it was and the new unit crashed my PC - system restore and system repair could not remove certain conflicting netwrok related codes. I get to toally rebuild my system with an entire reinstall. PS - insult to injury DLink wants me to return the unit to Amazon as the original purchase made there and guess what the 30 day window is now closed. UNLESS YOU NEED SOMETHING TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. This from someone "familiar" with computers.

I read all the reviews here before buying the product and just today installing it. I am a retired IT fellow who does a lot of this stuff.

This is a solid product that works well once you install it correctly. Make certain of compatibility BEFORE you buy and try. Open the short instruction set that comes with it. Read it carefully twice. Follow every word precisely. It will work within minutes.

It may not be clear but,
First connect the DWL-G710 using the supplied Ethernet cable to your ROUTER, not the PC.

It is clearly over-priced -- twice the price of the router, but if you need it, you need it.

In my case, my problem was a signal that was strong enough to get a web page, but not strong enough to hold a video conversation or play some interactive Internet-based games. This unit solved the problem. Oddly, the unit did the best to solve the problem immediately adjacent to the remote wirelessly-connected PC. You should be prepared to try a variey of positions to find where it works best.

If you don't have D-link equipment, do your homework before buying this repeater. It may work with your setup, it may not. Make sure you find someone on the net who has successfully set up the unit with your specific configuration and find out how they did it. We use Netgear WG302 WAPs. I spent as much time trying to set up the DWL-G710 as we could afford. A subsequent look on the web revealed that other IT professionals have had no success with this specific configuration. Don't make my mistake--do your research first.

Newpic 90 does the job!.......2001-12-27

This is a great camera for beginners and shutterbugs who don't have the patience to deal with professional photographic equipment. The APS features are fantastic giving you the ability to capture the entire Harbor Bridge on panoramic, and change film instantly while hanging from a ski lift without concern for film exposure or proper placement inside the camera casing. Its zoom lens is quite long compared to other cameras of the same type and price range. My pictures have always come out clear and crisp. Its also very durable and the rubber grip on the side makes it easy to hold unlike other all metal casing cameras. I have even dropped it in a waterfall, and although it is not waterproof and I wouldn't suggest doing it, the camera still worked after the water drained out of it. If you can still get your hands on one of these cameras, go for it!

Very nice camera, good quality and a good price. Pick up a cheap APS book for some pointers and don't forget the batteries -- not included :-(

I consider myself extremely capable on computers, and have installed many harddrives, yet I find this drive and the included MaxBlast software the most difficult thing I have ever encountered. I had a problem installing Windows 98 and NT numerous times, and found the software extremely hard to work with, since it is required to utilize all 15 gig, or else I would have used FDISK and FORMAT. Anyway, only buy this if you are extremely confident and have the number of your favorite Computer Technician handy.

The drive itself is good. The software is good as far as formatting and partitioning. Beyond that--forget it.

When their software tells you your BIOS cannot recognize the hard drive, and do you want to install EZ BIOS? Try NO. You might save a week of wonder.

EZ BIOS can cause some weird start up problems.

Best bet: Forget the EZ BIOS and do your own copy routine. Check out CNET for a procedure to do this.(Maxtor still has no clue why their copy utility does not work--it has to do with the 386 swp file (virtual memory).

Absolute Best drive for the money.......2000-05-10

I'm a system VAR. I've sold a ton of drive upgrades. When people ask me what brand I prefer I tell them I've had 1 Maxtor drive fail since 1985. That's less than 1 in 3000! I sell other drives occasionally but I see far more failures in my shop with drives from other manufacturers. This drive is a great size also. I use this one specifically for systems running Promise FastTrak Raid arrays. The size is not too unweildy for avarage maintenance tasks.

I just bought this Maxtor 15gig, 7200 rpm hard drive and also a controller card (UltraATA66). I had no problems installing both and performing a clean install of Win2000. I can now run up to 6 hard drives!
