Pretty Cool.......2006-05-07

My son (5yo) has this radio and loves cranking it up. (It takes regular batteries when you don't feel like making the extra effort.) Also it's not truly battery free since the crank actually powers up some rechargable batteries that do eventually need to be replaced. It's handy to take along to the pool, camping trips or just to have around for an emergency. However, I wouldn't bother getting headphones as an accessory for this radio since it doesn't have a jack.

My husbamd just had to have this radio. We live in an area where the power goes out all the time. We're also big campers and we thought this would be a good radio to travel with. It is self-powered so all you have to do is wind it up. It does take a lot of winding (the only drawback) so you wouldn't want it for everyday use but it is great in emergencies.

If you're weary of a tiny 15-inch monitor, upgrading to the affordable NEC AccuSync 90 is a good move. While the AccuSync boasts an 18-inch viewable screen, this monitor's footprint is nearly as compact as that of a 17-inch model--it will save plenty of precious desk space.

At a dot pitch of 0.26 millimeters, this shadow mask CRT offers clear, detailed text and images. At higher resolutions, however, we found that smaller font sizes become nearly illegible. We also noticed ghosting near the edges. Still, there's a lot to like about the AccuSync 90; colors are rich and deep, contrast controls are strong, and the screen is surprisingly flat for a shadow mask monitor.

The AccuSync boasts a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 1,200 at 76 Hz, and at the recommended resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 at 89 Hz, eyestrain is almost nonexistent. All told, the AccuSync 90 is a well-rounded monitor that should appeal to consumers on a budget. terrible customer service.......2005-09-20

although so far the product has been performing well, getting it connected to my computer and installed was a pain in the ass and the customer service was terrible. the harddrive didn't come very good directions and the website isn't very specific. also when i tried emailing them for help i had to wait a week before i got a reply and the reply told me to look at their website. eventually i had to figure it out with some help from friends. if you don't know much about computers, this is not the company to deal with.
