Be warned.......2007-07-14

Excellent product if all you plan to do is: 1) compose your digital photos via the viewing screen, or 2) Review your shots in bright sunlight.

For me, however, found very awkward. if you plan to use the "old fashion" eye level view finder then not very useful. Gets in the way of using the eye level view finder. Have to use both hands to fold down the pop-up shade. Maybe if it offered one-handed folding capabilities would be much better. Good concept, just awkward.

Fragile!.......2007-03-31

After scratching the Nikon LCD protector on my first hike with
the D200 I thought some better protection was a good idea.
This cover looked solid, and I rarely look at the LCD while
out for the day, but after my first hike, the cover fell off.
It has two thin plastic clips that attach to the camera, one at
the top, and one at the bottom, and the bottom one had broken off.
I'll buy a pack of Nikon covers instead.

Not functional at all!.......2007-03-21

The only thing this is good for is providing a hardcover for your LCD screen. I guess if you do a lot of continous viewing of your pictures while in the sun, it would be ok for that purpose, but when I am in the sun, I prefer to be taking pictures -- and this just gets in the way.

The show stopper for me (1 star) is that you cannot shoot photos with it open.

The problem is you need to have it closed to shoot. So you shoot the picture with it closed then you have to open it if you want to see the LCD and check the photo, look at the histogram, etc. Once done checking your photo, you then have to close it to shoot the next photo (closing it takes two hands as you have to push the side panels in with one hand while closing it with the other hand). Once closed, you can shoot the next photo and repeat the steps all over again.

Hassle, hassle, hassle...

I guess if you do all your shooting without ever looking at the LCD, this would be more useful. I like to do all kinds of experimenting with different shutter speeds, openings, WB, et al, so I like to look at each picture after the shot and adjust my settings before the next shot.

One final nit is that there is a big logo on the cover. I hate that I had to pay to advertize for them - who do they think they are - Google? Get rid of the self-serving logo and I would be a little more happy with it -- of course the problems I list above mean I never put it on my camera, so logo or no logo - they lose with this product.

PS: If I was in a good mood today I might have rated it 2 stars, but I am not in a good mood today, so 1 star.

Better concept than execution..........2007-03-01

I bought one of these when they first came out. They work well for what they're intended (better than the "bellows" type shades which stick out so you can't keep them on when the camera is put into a case), but, as another reviewer said, you have to remember to shut it before you raise the viewfinder to your eye to take a picture.
Mine fell apart pretty quickly with the back half separating from the front half (the mounting-half). I could have glued it back together, so it wasn't a big deal, but at the time, I didn't bother.
It just might work better with the side-blinds removed, just leaving the top in pace, then it'll fold down automatically when it goes past your cheek as it's raised to your eye.

I love my new camera, but I hate that I can't see much of anything when the camera is in the sun. And how can you hold the camera, shade the LCD, and snap a picture with only two hands????
This little gizmo flips open and shades the LCD for you. It slides off the camera easily when you don't need it.
The two things people need to be aware of are that it does take two hands to close the shade, and the shade only provides some help in shading if the sun is behind your back. But all in all, it is very helpful.

Panasonic produces excellent 9inch TVs. Smaller screens give you crisper and more brilliant looking pictures. This is a very exact 2-head TV-VCR with monaural playback. Videotapes look really good on this unit. You can take it along with you with the Car cord included for portable AC/DC operation. It has a Built-in FM radio with auto scan and front audio-video jacks which come in handy. This unit gives you incredible picture quality because of its inherent size and design. Videotapes that don't look so great at home look excellent when played on this unit. The picture actually looked very sharp. I highly recommend this set.

Durable Cassette Player!.......2001-03-19

While most people are playing CDs, I still enjoy listening to my collection of cassettes. And this player lets me do just that! It is quite durable and fairly compact. It comes with good quality ear phones too! If your still listening to cassettes, I recommend this player!
