The sound from movie sources recorded in Dolby Digital, DTS, or other formats emphasizes high-frequency range due to a theater's front speakers being placed behind the movie screen. Great performance for a reasonable price.......2007-07-09

I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. But a little planning is advisable.

I ordered this unit on July 5th and received it on July 6th with overnight ordering using Amazon Prime. The additional shipping cost with Prime was only $1.99.

Right after I ordered it, I went on to the Denon site and decided to start to read the owner's manual. It was quite an education. Before you attempt to install the unit, make sure you study the wiring diagrams and the setup instructions in the first few pages of the manual.

That being said, plan on about $300 in additional costs buying the proper cabling. For maximum results, you need 3 sets of Video Composite cables (One from your television/DBS box, one from your DVD player, and from this unit to the video inputs on your television. Also plan on 2 optical cables for sound: one from the television DBS box and one from the DVD player.

Provided you did your homework in advance, and have the proper cables, the installation took me about 60 minutes or so. I used the provided microphone to do the automatic speaker balancing. However, after that, I did a little additional tweaking for my own taste.

If you set the TV/DBS box as Composite 2 and the DVD player as Composite 1 the default settings take over and there is little else to do in installation.

Past that, the sound is great and everything seems to be working flawlessly. I am going to get the iPod dock next.

Great AV Receiver Value.......2007-04-13

I am a huge Denon fan. I own two high end Denon's (One I have had for 15 years and it is still rock solid). I bought this one for my inlaws (in their 70's) because I wanted a quality value product. Denon's value products are really just scaled down versions of their high end stuff. You cannot go wrong with this unit. It set up quickly and easily and performs flawlessly.

Nice receiver.......2006-04-23

This is a nice receiver. The remote & controls are easy to figure out. I wish the remote controlled more varied brand and models of other equipment, and I still haven't figured out how to crank down the rear speaker volume yet. Everything else has been great for a lower priced unit. My old Sony receiver fried and I needed a quick replacement. I hope to keep this one for a while, it seems to sound better than the Sony.

When I bought this CD player I thought it looked really cool, and it does. I like the design of the buttons, and the headphones are nice and comfotable. However the headphones don't sound as good as my old sony ones, and if I lean back they get pushed up off my head from hitting my jacket or the back of my seat. Also the carrying case wont fit through my belt loops or anything, and it doesn't have a belt clip like my old AX5123/17 that had a belt clip that i just clip to my pocket everyday before I went to school, or coming home from school. But this is a very durable, and good cd player, I turned esp off, and I havn't had a skip yet.

This is a great CD player, worth your money bealive me I have seen my fair share of bad CD players but this one rocks. It does not skip a beat no matter what you put it through.You can count on the anti skip featur it wont matter if your running,walking or biking the music will stay intact wonderfully.The music/sound is great and very nice and not like any other CD player that I have had(before this one I used to get 60 somethin dollar sony CD players, they sont compare to this one) The way it's made rocks, the steel look the nice orange and blue color of the screens, the nice bold numbers make it easy to see aswell. Its just so sleek and cool. Alot of people ask me about it and where they could get one!. The headphones are great aswell they have not gone bad yet, So we will see but so far there great. The remote control is very handy nice long cord so you dont feel constricted but you do feel free and able to move when your one the move.<br /> <br /> So all in all I say go ahead and get it you will be happy that you did!

I bought it a year ago and I didn't do anything to it and it broke I had it 4 2 days and I had 2 call the company and they said they'd give me a new 1. yeah so I got the new 1 about 2 mouths later. then I was traveling on a air plane and it just stoped playing and shut off and no the batterys weren't dead, b/c I had put in new 1's a couple hrs b4. It wouldnt turn on during the rest of the plane ride or when I got off. IT ISNT WORTH YOUR MONEY!!! buy a sony. sony is so much better.

I love this CD player, I'm 15, and it's extremely durable for all of the teenage wear and tear that I have on an every day basis. I got it for my birthday, and it's pretty reasonably priced (I got some other presents too), and I'm loving it. The remote control feature is awesome, and it's definately easier to manage with that nifty little remote. I can take it anywhere, and with the protector, it just gives me a little bit more reassurance that it won't get broken, like my last Sony one did. But, all in all, I love this little CD player. And who doesn't like the awesome design on it? Checkerboards are awesome.

Play music for days on end with the mobiBLU B153 flash memory digital audio player, which features an amazing 150 hours of continuous play per battery charge. With normal use (a couple of hours each day), you can go well over a month before you'll need to recharge the device, making it a handy audio accessory for long road trips or forgetful listeners. The multifunction B153 is no slouch from a compatibility perspective, either, with support for MP3, WMA, and Ogg Vorbis audio files, along with a built-in FM tuner, a voice recorder (via the built-in microphone), and line-in recording capability. The 1 GB of flash memory, meanwhile, holds approximately 16 hours of CD- quality MP3 tracks (encoded at 128 kbps) or 32 hours of WMA tracks (at 64 kbps).

The FM radio doesn't just play your favorite stations; it also lets you record FM programming onto the device's memory, so you can catch "Car Talk" or your favorite late-night program if you missed it the first time. Travelers will also dig the integrated clock, which includes an alarm for waking to your favorite music. And thanks to the direct encoding function, you can record from such external sound sources as receivers, CD players, cassette decks, and other audio players with the touch of a button. The files can then be saved in multiple folders, which can be selected and played as if in a Windows environment. Other features include six equalizer presets, USB mass storage capability, upgradeable firmware, and SRS WOW 3D virtual surround sound.

The B153 connects to your PC via its USB 2.0 connection (cable included), which features download speeds of up to one second per song, and is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000, and XP or Mac OS 9.x or 10.x or higher operating systems. Plus, the device requires no extra battery or recharger, as the advanced battery system is easily recharged through the USB port. The B153 measures 2.56 by 1.75 by 0.84 inches (W x H x D), weights 2.3 ounces, and is backed by a one-year warranty.
