I like the phone for the blackberry technology. I have had the following problems with this piece of equipment:

- Track wheel is prone to sticking and even breaking making the phone very difficult to use

- Volume level for ear and ringtone is very low, even at its highest level.

Very nice device, good phone reception, clear voice, size & weight of the device just perfect.
You must get a data plan for blackberry from your network carrier to use the web features of the device, not possiable to configure it with the carriers without blackberry plan.

I bought this laptop about 9 months ago. I don't know what the refurbished part means, but I know that the laptop I own has had several problems. First of all, when the laptop was 2 months old, it shut off and would not come back on. I let it sit for a couple of days, thinking maybe it needed a rest. But no, it was simply dead. So I took it in to be serviced and since I live overseas there is only one place I can take it: the place I bought it. They had to send it to Sony. I didn't get it back for 4 months! So really I've only had the laptop for 5 months...Anyway, since I got it back, it has been getting really hot. For instance, tonight I turned it on and literally 11 minutes later I pulled the power cord out and it was smoking! I really hope it doesn't try to burn down our government quarters, because I think Sony would be in big trouble then - we live on a military base and there are 64 residences in this building. The thing that bothers me the most: it was that hot after only 11 minutes.

I do enjoy the speed of it, I like the screen and everything else. I just don't trust the safety of my family now. That's the worst!

Just what I had been looking for!.......2003-04-24

My husband is very picky and in the past he would go shopping for PDA's but he could never make up his mind as he could not find everything he wanted on one PDA. This one does it all! You can use it for work and play. He took it out of the box and just started using it without even reading the manual, it's just so easy!. He loves it.

NEC MobilePro P300.......2003-02-18

Pros:
With the use of StrongArm 206MHz CPU, it run all built-in applications with a very high speed, even faster than most xScale 400MHz machine because the current OS is optimized for Strongarm but not for xScale CPU.
It plays movie smoothly with about 25fps using PocketTV.
I think the P300 is one of the smallest dual-slot pocketpc nowadays, with the use of CF+SD/MMC, you can use many peripherals on CF such as GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth easily with a relatively low price. CF memory is also much cheaper than SD.
The big screen looks great in both indoor and outdoor, the metallic casing gives you a high-end feel than those plastic case.
The 4 app buttons lit on with a blue light when pressed that similar to Asus A600, and there is a 7-colour LED at the top of the screen that can set as different types of notification.
There is a removable hinged cover that can protect the unit.
I bought this P300 in Hong Kong at about US$256, maybe this price is the lowest price for dual-slot pocketpc now!

Cons:
32MB ram is too small for regular use, a memory card is essential.
The SD slot is not SDIO, that means you can only use the slot as memory expansion.
The battery is not removable.

I really enjoy the USB CameraMate that comes with the MicroDrive. The software simply views the CameraMate as a physical drive accessible by Windows, so you can drag and drop files easily.
The volume of the MicroDrive is simply amazing and I highly recommend it over the CompactFlash counterparts.

There's no space like home.......2000-11-05

This is a must have if you spend any extended period of time taking pictures away from home or you take a lot of photos. On a cost per megabyte basis, you cannot do better than a microdrive. Its only potential disadvantages are it reliability and performance. Now that sounds alarming, but neither one is really a concern, as they are only disadvantages relative to standard memory devices.

E.g., microdrives are very reliable and they are reasonably quick. Regarding reliability, since they are miniature hard drives they are can, in theory, be damaged by dropping them. In practice I've only heard of one or two people experiencing such a problem, and those reports came via the Internet. That's not much evidence of a potential problem.

And performance specs show that thye are a bit slower, but I cannot tell the difference in performance between my microdrive and any of my compact flash memory cards. By the way, the 1 gig drives are reported to start up much more slowly than the 340 mb drives, so keep that in mind when deciding which one to buy.

Bottomline, Microtech makes a good card, if you can need the storage space then do not hesitate to buy one.
