Not a bad laptop.......2004-11-15

I've had all the same problems. My laptop kept shutting down, but I soon discovered why. First, I had mixed memory. For some reason, the two memory sticks didn't work well together and it caused my computer to lock up. If you buy this laptop, be sure to upgrade your memory with the same manufacturer. Also, laptops are not able to cool themselves off as easily as a desktop can. There is too much equipment in too confined a space. Mine shut off when it was too hot. You should be glad rather than angry. I'd rather lose a bit of information than lose my computer. Anyway, this problem was easily solved as well. You can go to any Target and purchase a platform that has two little fans in it. Your laptop sits right on top of it and it will not overheat again. All things considered, this is a decent laptop. If you really want to do some gaming, however, you may want to shop around a bit more. I suggest alienware.

This machine has a large variety of problems since we purchased it 18 months ago. It freezes often, and the dvd player stopped working about 3 months after we got it. The power input jack came loose, and while wiggling around the cord in an attempt to mak a connection, teh computer suffered a small internal fire. DO not purchase.

Used 18 mos. without problems. Lightweight and compact for a 15" screen = easy travel/moving around house. Battery life average, occasional lock-ups due to ISP. Usage 50/50 wifi surfing vs. business(word/PP/excel). For someone with similar needs this computer is a 5 star great buy. Like any product it's only a great buy for the right applications. Lack of dedicated video ram, inexpensive video components, basic 256K ram, processor speed, 1024 screen make this a bad "2 star" fit/value for the wrong buyer. For business, surfing, carrying-around its great. Those with game, design, and video focus should look elsewhere.

I have had this computer for over a year and I have had nothing but problems. It locks up the whole time I use it, it shuts down with no warning (and does not automatically save your work). It is nice that it has a wireless card slot, but can barely use it ~ the heat sinc gets to hot and shuts off the wireless card.

I am sure that there is more!

This computer locks up on me all the time!! Multiple- we're talking more than 5 on bad days- times a day. I don't know if it is just my computer that has a problem or what, but it is really frustrating. Today it has locked up over and over again. It has also happened (not today, but sometimes) that the computer will just turn itself off. Just like that. No goodbyes. No kiss on the cheek. Nothing. Kaput. I want to smash my computer.

The sleek Plantronics M110 headset for mobile and cordless phones is a nice little unit that sits comfortably even during the longest hands-free conversations. It can also provide added safety to your cellular phone calls when driving because both hands can remain on the wheel.

The M110 features a sturdy headband, padded flexible earpiece and headpiece, and a fully adjustable microphone. It required no assembly and, in our experience, was extremely versatile. The microphone can be worn with the headband on either ear, and the headband was very light and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The sound quality of the earpiece and microphone were both very clear during testing.

A noise-canceling microphone eliminates background noise on the M110, and makes your voice easily understandable to callers. There are also three levels of microphone volume, though there is no volume adjustment for the earpiece and, in our tests, we often had to ask callers to speak up.

The headset has a 4-foot cord with adjustable clothing clip to give you a wide range of motion. The M110 can be used with any cordless or cellular phone that's headset compatible and has a 2.5-millimeter jack. --Megan Dugan

This is my husband's earphone set. We ordered it to use with our Uniden DCT646-3 cordless phone system (also purchased here at Amazon). It works quite well with our particular phones.

I have asked him how well it works, and he says "great"! Since it is not mine, and I have never personally used it, that's about all I can tell you.

This is my favorite headset.......2007-06-22

I'm buying my third set of these (my wife took my first one and my friend borrowed but has not returned the second one). I've owned many different headsets over the past 10 years, and this is by far the best! It sits stably on my head, is clear and picks up my voice clearly. Some complain that the volume is low, but I find it to be more of a function of the phone you use. I once broke the plug to the phone when I dropped the phone with headset plugged in, but a little glue did the trick. Hence, I'm happily coming back to buy another!

After several months, the headset started to fall apart. The microphone stick broke and the headset plastic horizontal part kept coming loose. Plantronics is an excellent headset brandname, but somehow this product is not a heavy-duty headset. You have to be very gentle when storing it away.

The biggest complaint I have is that Izone film is EXPENSIVE! It is fun however, making your own little stickers, it's excellent for leaving memos, working on scrapbooks. The radio function comes in handy at times too, and has a good sound quality for being so small. WHY did they discontinue this camera?

This is an access router; not a cable / dsl gateway router. If your service terminates with a smart jack you probably need an access router. These are technically more sophisticated in use and application. This is not an install for a technical lightweight. If you are very comfortable with and understand how to install gateway routers, are technical and analytical in nature, comfortable with technical troubleshooting, and need to address a more sophisticated application you will find Adtran's product and technical support (before and after purchase) most appropriate. I know of no other product maker in this field that will support you as well as Adtran. I strongly caution you that this is not for the novice as this is much more sophisticated than a gateway router install.

Depending upon the service you bought and your intention, the specific interfaces (network interface modules, NIMs)in the unit and the configuration you can connect point to internet, point to point, and subdivide a point to point for voice and data. As you probably can conclude, this is not a lightweight application.

You will find the Adtran unit very dependable and suitable for your need - and if you are unsure, Adtran's customer support both before and after the sale cannot be beat.

This does not have a web base configuration - and has to be done in command line language. There is a configuration tool that enables you to configure wihtout the command language. If you run into a snag, you may well have to use command language. Don't let this scare you off; it is very logical and Adtran people will be most helpful.
