DO NOT BUY REFURBISHED INK CARTRIDGES!!!.......2007-08-16

Remanufactured ink cartridges did not work in my printer, so it was a waste of money and time. I would not recommend this product to anyone. It is better to buy the original product from hewlett-packard, although the ink cartridges cost more, and recycle them then to buy defective, refurbished generics. I bought the product because people had given good reviews to the Amazon merchant and it was cheaper. Do not make the same mistake.

This order gets routed to Office Depot. I got charged $4.99 for a Small Order Processing Fee, WITHOUT WARNING OR NOTIFICATION, since this was the only item I ordered. It also didn't qualify for Amazaon's free shipping. Unless you can't find this item at a bricks-and-morter near you, don't buy this item through Amazaon unless you want to pay $8.00 over the quoted price - a rip off IMHO!!

Great Printer at a great price.......2007-08-07

I've had this printer for a little over 6 years now and it's been the best I've ever worked with for home & office use. I've used it for printing all of my wedding invitations, rvsp's, maps, and programs. That's well over 800 sheets (and I did most of it in about a week). And that was just recently. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product. The only con is that it doesn't have built-in ethernet ports for networking. It's still as fast as it was the day I bought it... All-in-all, it's a great printer to have for college students and home use.

Best Printer I Will Ever Own.......2007-04-28

I've owned this printer for almost five years now and it is the greatest printer I have ever worked with. I used it all throughout college, printing thousands pages worth of papers and handouts. I always printed in Fast Draft mode so it would use little ink, print very, very fast, but the text was a little lighter. However, most of the things I printed weren't going to be handed in so I didn't care. Printing in Fast Draft mode will easily let you print about 1500 to 2000 pages of text. And that's at only $20 a cartridge which is incredible. I don't print photos myself but my wife uses the printer now to print pictures and she's amateur photographer and it works great for her.

I would highly recommend this printer to anyone who's main focus is text with the occasional photo. It uses very little ink and the black ink is quite cheap when you do need to buy it. I used to sell printers at an office supply store and I would always recommend this printer. The HP 5550 is awesome.

HP 5550 - a very fragile machine.......2007-02-28

I am afraid I have to agree with the negative reviews concerning the HP 5550. I bought one about 6 weeks ago and it worked fine for the first month. After putting in a refurbished cartridge recently, it printed 1 page and then stopped halfway through the second page, telling me to "check the line". The "line" was working fine, but there was no real explanation given, either on-line or in the user manual, for it to stop right in the middle of printing the document. Also, the machine is very fragile to handle. Lifting up the lid to check on or replace an ink cartridge makes a sound that makes one think the machine has been broken beyond repair, and I am afraid that that is what has happened to this one.

It works with OSX but at times can be a real pain to use.....also a very fragile unit that really goes through ink.

hp 5550 works like a dream.......2006-06-10

I've had the 5550 for about 3years, and have never had the least problem with it. It came as a surprise to find that it could produce very high quality photo prints using hp photographic paper. The cartridges don't last all that well, but don't be fooled into replacing them as soon as you get the warning message saying ink is low. I've found that you can keep using the cartridge (moderately) for months after you get the first warning.

cartridge past expiration date.......2007-06-14

I ordered a pair of cartridges from this site because of $. The B&W cartridge expiration date was visable and due to expire 3 months after purchase. The color cartridge expiration date was covered by a heavy tape. I removed the tape to find that the cartridge expired 1 month ago. I emailed the vendor and did not get a response. Don't know if inkjet cartridges are good past expiration date (suspect they are) but I thought this was pretty deceptive - and didn't appreciate the lack of response

Ripped off !.......2007-05-04

Got this on Amazon for about $13 shipped and didn`t install it for several weeks as my other cartridge wasn`t empty yet.It came in a sealed box but when I installed it...it had NO INK in it and felt "light". Even the toolbox on my HP showed the cartridge to be empty !Buyer beware.

It plays 30 -40 hours per week on a regular basis in a factory-and sometimes more than that . 1 AAA batery goes for about 8 hours, -never had a problem in the 15 months that I owned it. Can download on average of 54-64 songs, depending on how long the songs are. Very trustworthy item

The IPOD Hype.......2004-08-09

This Samsung yepp player is the real deal so i just had to opine-

if you have a pc - the ipod is not for you. it requires high speed usb ports and several costly accessories for a trendy and bulky item.

i've owned this YEPP for almost a year and thought the IPOD with eye tunes was supposed to be great - so needless to say i bought one and the first wouldn't charge; the second charged and let me download songs - then would not stay charged for more than a couple hrs.

the third one just shut down one day after i disconnected it during a DO NOT DISCONNECT phase. it would not even do a hard reset.

stick with the yepp - it works with media players (yeah - i know WMP can be funky sometimes) but if you have a late model PC and want to copy files quickly...run to this and don let the Apple fall on your head. I have NEVER written a review before so I hope that this at least helps someone. My wife won't beleive me because she is SAVING UP for an IPOD.

The sound is great, with the surround sound, but there are two things that really pisses me off.

1. I bought this, just opened it, held it in my hands, looked into the display... What? Is there dust inside the display? How did they do that? U gotta crack it up to fix that.

2. The unit scratches easily, like all Yepp units.

These are the cons, but if U dont care about how the player looks, U can buy this as a great buy.

Great little mp3 player!.......2004-06-15

Wow, I chose this model over all the other mp3 players offered on Amazon because of the reviews. It's very WYSIWYG, small, functional, portable, and for the best 256mb player for the buck.
It comes with everything you need, including a battery. The carry case is economical like the player, small and not much room for anything else, I end up winding my ear buds around the closing flap to keep all my things together. It feels like a sturdy player, I love that you twist the end to move between songs and the bright blue scrolling display, everything makes it feel like a quality product.It ofcourse comes with so-so headphones that I don't recommend using, and you really don't have to install anything, you just plug and drop things in. I use it mainly for work, it's plenty loud and the sound quality is great, all the dynamics and you get a very rich and full volume out of a tiny thing. Battery life is better than expected, a new AAA will last you as advertised 15 or so hours, I recommend rechargeables for environment's sake. The few buttons you see do all the work, you do need to flip through the manual to get a feel for the unusal functions of each button, particularly the volume slider which does most of the work. If you have big big fingers it might take some more effort, I have small hands and I still need to use my nail to dig in sometimes...you do have to remember that you are buying a very very small product! It dissapears in my hands and easily into pockets, it's very cute and it's not orange like you see in the detail photos, but just silver. The FM radio wasn't great from where I tried it, so I can't say much about it yet, voice recording is so so but I don't see myself using that function any time soon. Recording/encoding capabilities though is pretty nice.
In all I recommend it to everyone who's looking to not spend too much on a HD player like the 20GB iRiver iHP-120 which is the best rival to an iPod out there just yet. I think the only thing left to be desired is a FF function and it wouldn't hurt to include one or two more buttons in future models.

Great = Simple functionality.......2004-02-17

Myself, I like this player because of its simple design. The player doubles as a USB jump drive. First this means that you can store data other than MP3s on it for transport to other computers. Second, it means that you do not need to use the management software. This makes the player compatable with Windows as well as Mac and Linux (my own choice). You can also share with others without the need for them to have the manufacturer's software on their PC. The line in record and FM record are nice functions also. Of course the ear buds are not great, but then no player near this price will include nice headphones. The only truely bad feature of this player is the included case. It is terrible. Small complaint though!
