HO Laptop was recieved with severely cracked screen which was claimed to be directly from the factory box, seller ("Express Solutions") is very slow in trying to deal with the situation and responding to e-mails, and is very unresponsive and unaccomadating to the fact that the screen arrived broken.

Poor quality and service.......2006-11-14

I have owned an HP Pavilion 4000 series notebook for about two years and have sent in for repair four times already. The issues varied from a defective battery, to a defective power supply, to defective system fans and overheating, to locking up unexpectedly. The only consistent factor was the poor customer service I received from HP and the incompetence of the customer support and service outfits for HP.

One of the times, the notebook was returned to me with the HP technician's testing drive installed in it. Another time, the notebook was returned missing all the covers from the bottom (hard drive cover, memory cover, etc.)

This time, the whole computer is missing and the customer support reps do not know the status nor where it is. I have not received assurances from HP that the issue will be resolved anytime soon and all I can get from them is that it is "scheduled" to be shipped to me a week ago.

Extremely poor quality and lack of service make me recommend against purchasing this or any HP notebook.

Just play a CD first after powering up the device. With IntelliPlay on, the player focuses on the type of disc that plays first. (You may also turn this feature off.)

Favorite Track Selection (FTS) lets you play your favorite tracks in the order you select. A program can contain up to 100 tracks from Super Audio CDs, audio CDs, MP3 (files on CD-R or CD-RW), video CDs, or super video CDs.

Other playback options include 5-disc resume, which lets you pick-up where you left off on your 5 most recently viewed DVDs, enhanced parental control (with 120-disc lockout), Philips 3-D Surround Sound (which simulates 5-channel surround from 2-channel sources), and picture zoom for magnification of select moving or still images.

After trying out a Canon EOS1 and a Nikon F100, I bought a Pentax MZ-S because it feels more like a camera rather than a computer. Yes, this is an all-electronic camera but the controls are similar to the analog/mechanical cameras -- to change the shutter speed you rotate the shutter speed dial, to change the aperture you turn the aperture ring. This is also the smallest and the lightest professional SLR I have seen. The all-metal body is comfortable to hold and there is a grip protrusion even on the left side. This is also one of the few pro SLRs with a built-in flash which comes in handy when you want to travel light and need a fill-flash. The depth-of-field preview lever is conveniently located as a ring around the shutter button. There is no manual mirror lockup option but you can use the 2 second timer which locks the mirror then opens the shutter 2 seconds later. The exposure data imprint is a nice option which prints the speed and f stop on the film outside the frame. The slanted top panel isn't exactly a life-changing innovation but it is a nice touch.

The only drawbacks might be the slow flash synch (1/160), slow frame advance (2.5 per sec) and the difficult to reach auto focus control switches. However, none of these are problems for me because I don't shoot action or sports. Oh, another con is that it is a little overpriced.

I have been using this for over a year now and have no complaints yet. It is a great camera to travel with because of its small size and weight.

Great High Def TV.......2005-02-08

We have owned this TV for over 2 yrs now and it is still just as good as the first day we turned it on. This unit is very stylish and the picture in the store was superb as it is to this day. We have Comcast HDTV and it is incredible. I couldn't believe the price compared to sony etc.. and thought this thing might not have the longevity. We purchased a 3 yr service plan with it but have not needed it once. It is reliable and we already feel we have gotten our money's worth. They do not sell this TV anymore but if you are looking at a used one, I would say go for it.

Great picture & Reasonably Priced!!!.......2003-05-23

This is my first big screen TV purcahse. I selected this set because out of 18 other big screens on display at the store, it was the most stylish, reasonably priced, and had the best picture. One word of warning, this set is big!!! you need a viewing area of at least 12 feet to enjoy the best view. If you sit closer, the images start to blur. I have it hooked up to the FREE RCA home theater system (nice additional perk for the purchase...) that came with it and it blows my neighbors away. This complete system is way more than I expected and needed actually for my room size 20 X 18. If your room is this size or smaller, I would recommend it's little brother, the 52" size. I have read many posts about RCA quality, but personally I have owned many RCA products without any problems, so I don't expect any from this set. If you are shopping for a big screen, make sure you take a look at this one before you buy...it might change your mind!

What a step up from th cheap analogs.......2001-03-12

I have been the historical victim of over priced "neat looking" cordless phones that would not let me roam more than 8 ft from the base when my computer was on. My whole world changed when this phone ended up in my lap thanks to my engineering brother who was sick of me putting down the phone 20 times during a long distance call to go get something even though I was on a crdless phone. With this PANASONIC DSS phone, I am not only free to move around my apt, and my apt building but I can also roam about 2/3 of a block away in incredibly dense population without loosing the person on the other end. The sound, compared to everything else I was using, is clear, although it is probably not as wonderful as a land line but is that a big surprise? I think it is worth every penny. I am replacing all the phones at my folks place with this one-gigarange is overated.

Disappointing.......2000-11-19

Well, like all other 900mhz DSS phones I've heard, this one has poor sound quality (I had reason to hope since I own one of Panasonic's excellent 900mhz analog phones). The sidetone isn't as bad as what I've heard in other 900 DSS phones, but it's still there and the sound isn't close to analog. I called my wife as a test, and she said it sound like I was talking in a box. Alas, for those of you wanting a phone with digital security that sounds good, I have no answer. The Panasonic 2.4gig phones sound good, but are apparently not fully secure as they transmit partially in analog... sigh.

I've had this phone for about two weeks now, and so far, I love it. I've had cordless phones in the past with lots of extras like dual keypads and speaker-phones and I never used these features. I don't use caller ID and I have a perfectly good answering machine. All I wanted was a good quality cordless phone that couldn't be easily over heard by neighbors baby monitors. I got just that. This phone has incredible range, excelent sound quality, and great battery life. The DSS gives us peace of mind for security too. The only fault I can find with this phone is the speaker hole for listening. It's very small and is located high up on the handset. Beacause of this, it's easy to let the phone "ride up" while you're talking and it sounds as if the volume is dropping off. Just pay attention to how you hold this phone and you'll be very happy with it!

Was easy to set up right out of the box. Had no conflicts with the hardware or software. Would recommend this product to anyone looking for an affordable DVD burner. Use it to make 4-9GB data disk or make perfect copies of DVD that you own.

I have returned this drive to amazon as defective. It would not recognize dvd-ram disks as being in the drive even though I was using brand new name brand disks. I tried it in 2 windows 98 computers and a windows 2000 computer with the same results on each. When I contacted Pacific Digitals technical support the answer I received was try a different disk. No suggestions as how to test the install or the drive were offered.

This is a great product for the price! It's a sure deal! It works right out of the box with very little set-up. I think it took about 5 to 10 min to set the drive up, including software.

The only thing that I don't like about this drive is that it will not burn CD-R disks, only DVD disks. It does, however, read any CD disk.

All in all, great if you do not need to burn CD-R's.
