pictures on the go.......2007-03-09
A good way to travel and be able to share pictures with other members who want pictures on the spot.
HP Photosmart A716 may be better but 475 is great too.......2007-01-10
I can only comment on the HP Photosmart A716 which I own. I love the 4gb of storage and the ability to edit pictures. The 475 only has 1.5 gb of storage. I am sure the 475 prints quality pictures as well. The reason why I think A716 may be better than 475 is that it has more internal memory to store photos and it is cheaper on Amazon. Just compare the two before you buy. You may get more with the A716 at a cheaper price.
The Photosmart 475 ROCKS!!.......2006-12-26
I received this as a Christmas gift from my husband and absolutely love it. The pictures come out amazing - great quality! I highly recommend this to anyone who loves taking pictures! =)
HP Photosmart 475 Compact Photo Printer (Q7011A#ABA).......2006-11-10
WoW is all I can say. This printer is actually better than advertised.
Photo's are very vivid, most people think we have shown or given them professional post cards. 5x7 prints are stunning, as well as 4x6 and Panoramic prints.
I researched all printers in this catagory (Personal Printer Labs), and bought this printer, because it offered the best of all catagories.
The LCD display is very sharp. The printer/Photolab is so easy to use, it amazes me. We prefer transfering photos to a memory card, and printing directly from the memory card, although printing from our laptops is easy.
The size, quality and speed are SWEET!!
The best just keeps getting better.......2006-11-10
We bought this for our daughter's first grade classroom. We chose it after owning an HP 385 for over a year. We really like the 385, and the 475 is an improvement to it at a better price.

just what I hoped for.......2007-01-29
I just received this product in the mail it took just a few minutes before it was up and running. It is more than I hoped for the pictures are crisp and all things you can do wiyh this printer are great. I would recomened this printer to anyone.
Easy to use!.......2007-01-22
I got myself a digital camera for Christmas. The bundle I saw online was to come with a printer as well but as luck would have it there was none in stock when I got to the store. Fom the reviews I read on the one it was to come with I didn't think I would be missing much not getting it though. After taking quite a few pictures I decided to look into a printer and came across this one... I read everyone's reviews and decided to bid on it. All I can say is as far as I care it is a nice printer! It's EASY to use! To me that's important, I hate having to read manuals for the simplest of things! This was easy enough I read the manual only to figure out how to put the ink in! It's quiet, it's quick and the quality matches the pics I've been getting developed at Walgreens for years. I haven't played much with the extra's but did learn how to crop the pic and put a frame around it just from playing with it. I have only had this a week now but would highly recommend it on my experiences so far!
Your own little photo shop.......2006-11-23
Bought the HP375 for my wife because she is computer illiterate. I got one on Amazon for $50, including 2 batteries. Put some fresh ink in, paper, and within minutes she was printing 4x6 prints out. I would much rather look at prints on my PC screen, but 4 months later, she's still cranking out pics of the grandchildren. They look every bit as good as from the photo shop. It reads the SD or CF cards, but she prefers a USB drive. This allows us to store on the PC, and move pics of interest to the USB drive for her to print.
Great little printer.......2006-07-16
This printer is a great inexpensive way to be able to print photos on the go.
The print quality is as good as my HP 2575 printer (even impresses my wife who doesn't like digital photography) and the speed is about 45-60 seconds per 4X6 print.
Plusses:
Pic bridge allows easy photo printing from a camera enabled cel phone though a USB cable.
Many different formats of media card readers are included for very easy printing from a wide variety of media formats (compatible with most digitcal cameras out there).
Optional battery (usualy not included) allows photo printing anywhere! The printer is small so you can take it on vacation with you and print out the lasting memories in minutes.
Optional bluetooth adapter (not included) allows easy printing from a bluetooth enabled device.
Optional #100 grey ink cartridge (not included) for printing true black and white photos.
Minuses:
The pictures may take a few minutes to dry, personally, I'd let them sit for 5-10 minutes to make sure that they're as dry as possible before passing them around (you can pass them around before that, but handle by the edges and don't rub the ink, it might smudge). Most of the time the pictures are dry by the time the next print is finished.
I am enjoying this printer and I'm looking forward to taking it with me on my next vacation!
nothing is perfect!.......2006-03-15
this is very close. simple to understand...even simpler to operate...and terrific quality prints.

Customer Reviews:
An excellent little printer.......2007-01-16
I was given this printer just over a year ago and was quite sceptical about it. In fact, it has proven a great success. Simple to use, reliable, available. Even my final researvation, that the replacement paper and cartridge would be a rip-off, turned out to be unfounded. I am surprised by readers who had problems with this product. Mine worked perfectly first time - there was no need to download anything, you just plugged in your USB memory stick and it was ready to print.
Dunno what everyone else is complaining about-works fine........2007-01-09
I bought the 375B at Amazon about a year ago for work done out "in the field". Admittedly getting the software installed was very tricky (repeated installs, updated software and patches downloaded from HP's website, getting the computer to recognized the printer, etc)but once done it has worked flawlessly.
This little dynamo produces some of the best color prints out there for a portable, even compared to full-size and newer printers (proviso: I haven't really looked too closely at the new crop of Epson and Canon mini-portables. This call was easier a year ago when HP had the only true decent mini on the market).
The new versions also print 5x7, have the memory card slots labelled, and possibly also have wireless/bluetooth (my only reasons for 4 stars). The battery holds a charge for quite a while (month+), and is priceless when AC power isn't available. The combo deal with battery at Amazon beat any competitors by a long shot. Being able to crop and zoom, as well as darken/lighten, reduce red-eye, etc right on the printer has a lot of "cool" factor in it. I think the newer models (385?) have some additional editing features.
Good quality prints take about 1 minute. The 75 photo "paper and ink" combo packs available pretty much do the trick. You may find that you actually will get about 100 photos per ink cartridge. I figured the cost to be around .25 cents per print or so.
Not Bad, Works Fine for Basic Prints.......2006-05-10
I don't have high expectations for this type of printer, one that you can put a flash card in and print the photo without a computer. Most often, photos will need some sort of tweaking, of white balance, of color, of something. This little printer does fine with the basics. It has some editing capabilties, not as many as I'd like, but for the price, it's just fine. I wanted the printer to use at some of our fundraising events, to take pictures of people with their dogs, print out a 4x6, give them the print, and go on to the next on-- This will work fine for that, and allow us to run this with only one person, if necessary, since the computer isn't involved. Battery is a huge plus.
I did buy the re-furbished unit, since we didn't have a lot of money to spend-- and since I read some of the reviews that it didn't work right out of the box, I figured the refurbed units would be fine. It is, and it was only $75-- a steal.
So, if you don't need anything fancy, and want something easy to use (or if you're like me and hate reading the manual)-- this should work just fine for you. A good buy, too, for the refurbished unit-- I didn't mind the blemishes on the unit, I'll bang it up soon enough.
Does not work out of the box.......2005-03-24
I am an IT professional (BSIT) and I bought this product because it is rated #1 by Consumer Reports and I own several HP printers that I really enjoy. However, I had the same experience as several other reviewers of this product. This printer simply does not work out of the box. After trying for 1 day I gave up and called HP customer service and they diagnosed the problem as a defective chip in the printer. They wanted to replace the printer with a refurbished one; I refused and threatened to return it back to Amazon. I was placed on hold and then told that I would receive a firmware upgrade via FedEx overnight. If this upgrade does not work I will be forced to return the printer to Amazon.
Deeply disappointed,

I had the same experience as another reviewer of the product. this printer does not work out of the box. After trying for 2 days I gave up and called HP customer service and they diagnosed the problem as a defective chip in the printer. They wanted to replace the printer with a refurbised one; I refused and returned it back to Amazon.

Customer Reviews:
Value and Quality.......2004-11-16
First of all... the price and quality are superb.
I have owned mine for about nine months now enduring vacations in Austria and Mexico City. I have had absolutely no problems with my photos (regardless of the countless times I've erased single/all photos as well as formatted the card).
You will be pleased with this card.
How many pictures will it store?.......2004-11-06
How many pictures will it store? It is the most commonly asked question from digital camera enthusiast but usually the question that is the most difficult to get a straight answer about. Well, considering I worked in the memory industry for over 7 years I can help clarify this perplexing question and do so unbiased as I have since changed industries.
The SanDisk 64MB SmartMedia Card, like most 64MB cards, will store on average 71 pictures when used with a 2 megapixel camera, 53 images when used with a 3 megapixel camera, 32 pictures when used with a 4 megapixel camera, 25 images when used with a 5 megapixel camera, and 20 pictures when used with a 6 megapixel camera. These numbers are based off the assumption that you are going to shoot your images at the highest quality JPEG setting available for the camera and understand that they are estimates and may be off by as much as 10 percent due to numerous factors including the complexity of the scene being shot and the compression algorithm used by your specific camera.
I truly hope this review was helpful to you in determining whether this card is the right capacity for your specific needs.
Doesn't work so well in my Rio 500.......2002-04-03
It's not the memory that is bad, but I bought two memory Sandisk 64 mg memory cards for my Rio 500, and you just can't carry them and choose which one you want to listen to without big time hassles. The Rio 500 is so reluctant to recognize the external memory, you have to keep putting it in and taking it out ad nauseum before it finally decides to recognize it. So I don't even do it! I just get the one in there working, and erase that and fill it when I want to change music. SmartMedia cards are real flimsy, not like Compact flash memory, and seem much more fragile. If I was going to choose what kind of flash memory to have in a camera or mp3 player, I'd go with Compact flash or MM flash memory, they are more robust and not so fragile.
inSanity for cheap.......2001-12-28
This media has been perfectly reliable in capture and download through a Olympus C3040. With comparos between the Sony Memory disk and compact flash card twice the thickness, thereýs very little difference in r/w that I can notice. Using the 5-shot digital ýauto-winderý on the Olympus the card sucks the data down no problem. Even with repeated semi-auto firing, the memory card performs decently. It does lag 2048x1536 (medium quality) and it will do more so at higher levels ý but itýs no worse than other formats. USB download through OEM cables is rapid quick compared to the slower compact flash on Kodak DC265 for some reason.
The physical size is unbeatable. The wear and long term use is something to keep an eye on with the contacts exposed compared to the other formats. At this price, I have no complaints buying a bunch and shooting without capacity worries.
Good Idea if you want more from your Rio 500........2001-12-23
I purchased my Rio 500 two years ago and love it but at the time I thought the memory it came with was enough but now I purchased the 64 meg card and thanks to the reviews people put on Amazons site I downloaded the firmware and updated so my Rio 500 would take the 64 meg card. I couldnt get it to work at first but found out I had the card in up side down wich didnt look like it should go that way but the Rio recognised the external memory so if you have trouble keep working it will work in the 500. Here is the site I use to update the software, these folks have a super site for Rio players...
