Customer Reviews:
Battery problem a big downer.......2005-05-13
If you're having a problem with the battery life, judging on other reviews, you aren't the only one. This camera does work decently when the batteries are working. It takes video with sound in addition to the pics. If you have a HP computer and printer like me, the software loading pics/video is even easier.
Here's what I have found is a way around the battery problem:
Keep 3 sets of rechargable batteries. (I use rayovac IC3 6 total)
The moment you put the batteries in the camera, it starts sucking power whether it is on or not! IF I limit my viewing of pics already taken and take pics without the screen on, the batteries will last about a day (40 pics).
Leave the batteries in the camera overnight. By the next morning, the batteries will be dead or close to it. Take the old batteries out, and put new charged ones in while the others charge. The reason why I keep 3 sets is in case I use one up too fast.
Hope that works!
Good for the price/bad warrenty service/eats batteries quick.......2005-03-11
I got this camera about half a year ago, and it worked quite well. However, unless you use full optical zoom, the edges of the photos are bent outwards. This camera also eats batteries much faster than my Kodak DX6340 did. I had a problem with the software that came with my camera so I have to use the Kodak Easyshera software instead. Also, this camera records audio videos, but you can only hear the audio on the computer.
Through all this, this camera is still good if you can get a good price.
BUT MY MAIN PROBLEM IS THIS: HP doesn't offer good warrenty service. When after I had this camera for about half a year, it stopped working, still in warrenty. I went onto HP LiveChat support online and since the people there are from India, it was hard to communicate with them, even online. After confusion and a long wait (about two weeks), they finally sent me a camera that was broken which they "fixed into perfect working condition" after saying that they would send me a new one. This camera was still broken when I got it, and they later told me that they only send refurbished ones. I told them this camera was also broken, but they couldn't send me another replacement until they recieved the first broken camera. Even after that and my continued contacting them, they kept on saying "I am sorry. You will get the confermation e-mail shortly." They never sent it and I waited two months without a working camera. Finally, the camera they sent me started working, even though it still doesn't look as good as new.
HP couldn't help but leave me without a working camera for so long even though I was under warrenty.
One last complaint: When I first got the camera, it was missing the lens cap.
IN CONCLUSION:
If you want a decient camera for cheep and don't care if you may not have a working camera for a while, this camera is a good buy (if you don't mind the other things I mentioned above also).
You get what you pay for.......2005-01-12
This an acceptable digital camera, not much more. It's a solid value if you find it for less than $75 or so, but I personally would pay more for a Kodak or Olympus with similar specs next time around.
Pros:
-Low price
-Reliable 3X zoom
-Good outdoor capabilities
-Reasonably logical navigation menus
-Excellent USB connection and PC photo download/edit software
Cons:
-One of the worst battery-eaters I've ever used
-Poor color saturation: certains blues and greens are way off and can't be corrected
-Dumb firmware programming: Forgets all settings when switched off (even with batteries installed) and occasionally bugs out. There is also an error in the brightness modulation.
-Pretty poor for closeup work: misinterprets light levels and more often than not can't capitalize on its 2 MP power.
Overall, it's a good value if you pick it up cheap enough, but next time I won't look for an HP camera any more than I would a Kodak printer.
BEGINNERS PERFECT CAMERA.......2004-08-18
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS CAMERA FOR "ANYONE" ANY AGE AS A STARTER CAMERA FOR DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY. I WAS GIVEN A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE CAMERA (DIGITAL) FOR A GIFT. MY FIRST DIGITAL CAMERA. IT WAS A DISASTER. I COULDN'T EVEN READ THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL IT WAS SO CONFUSING. I BOUGHT THIS CAMERA AS A TEACHING TOOL FOR MYSELF. IT WAS PEERFECT RIGHT FROM THE BEGINNING. I HARDLY EVER USE THE "OTHER" CAMERA(IT COST $400).THAT ONE IS LEFT TO OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS.
SO FAR NO PROBLEMS. BATTERY SEEMS TO GO ON FOR EVER. I PAY ATTENTION TO ALL INSTRUCTIONS ON ENERGY SAVING. WORKS PERFECT WITH OR WITHOUT THE DOCK FOR TRANSFERING THE PICTURES. NO END TO RECHARBLE BATTERIES. THE SAME PAIR HAS LASTED FOREVER. THANK YOU......JT
Not too shabby; one complaint though.........2004-06-24
I wouldn't call myself a [digital] camera expert. I have a few friends with digicams and this my first one. All the features on this thing are great! Lightweight, practical, and it's not too slow taking pictures or loading them. It's fun to play around with, too. My camera drained AA's like nobody's business; but then I got rechargeable ones. Still, the battery power is a problem-- Enough to make you conscious of how long you leave it on, and how much you use the screen (which drains more power) rather than the oldfashioned viewfinder. Hope this helped, and GOOD LUCK with your search!

IN CONCLUSION:
If you want a decient camera for cheap and don't plan to use it too much, and if you don't care if HP won't replace it if it breaks down, this camera is a o.k. buy (if you don't mind all the other things I mentioned above also). But I don't plan on buying electronics from HP again. P.S. The Olympus C765 looks like a good camera but it's more expensive.

Whether in homes, factories, offices, airports, or on the street, it's hard to imagine a place where Philips is absent. What Philips wants is to make your life and work easier - and more fun! And Philips continuously explores new ways to improve products and to offer innovative products to its consumers. Philips. "Let's Make Things Better".
Customer Reviews:
confortable fit and adequate sound.......2005-06-10
I bought these in-ear headphones to replace the underwhelming ear pods that came with my RCA Lyra. The philips are comfortable to take on and off, and can be worn with the head piece at different levels on your head. While the bass is nothing spectacular, it does the job for my needs and the treble is not the tinfoil variety I got from some ear buds I've tried. Well worth the price I paid.
Ugh..........2005-03-12
I bought a pair of these at a store; the giant words "Turbo Bass" caught my eyes. Let me tell you, these have got to be the biggest disappointment I've ever had in a pair of headphones. For one thing, the Bass is almost non-existant, despite what the box leads you to believe. After some tweaking, I managed to get some bass pumping through, however what I got was a horrible rattle that sounded like 10,000 volts being pumped through tin foil underwater. When flat, the highs are mediocre, lows almost inaudable, with the mids overpowering the rest of the soundrange. The design itself is also atrocious; probably the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever worn; my ears go sore after thirty minutes. For the money, I suggest you go with the
Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia Ear-Bud Headphones instead. Your ears will thank you.
Updated: After approx. 24 hours of trying to break-in these headphones by pumping practically nothing but hardcore bass music through them, it seems I've managed to loosen up the drivers a bit and get the lows to sound a bit smoother (although the right ear driver still rattles horribly when I put these phones at 75-100% volume). Also, I still have to EQ tweak to get some bass through. Therefore, CD, iPod, mp3 player users are still out of luck unless their player has a good EQ built-in (the so-called EQ settings in an iPod don't work well enough to get some bass going with these headphones).
great fit, great looks, awesome performance.......2004-12-30
These are the most light weight head phones I have ever owned. The sound quality is superb for such a small configuration.
The fit takes a little getting used but after a couple times it feels like your wearing nothing.
I would pay double the amount for these head phones

The first thing you'll notice is its outstanding print quality. But, the true beauty of the Phaser 7700 Series is that its gorgeous color is matched by its stunning print speed. At 22 ppm, conventional color laser printers aren't even in the same class. With its extremely versatile paper handling and smart software tools, your entire workgroup can bombard this printer with all sorts of documents in an array of paper types and sizes and it performs effortlessly.

Product Description
This Panasonic DVD player carries over the advanced performance features for the highest picture and sound quality. But The DVD-K510 carries more than impressive sound and video; it also carries a great tune. That's because it has a 5-channel Dolby Digital Karaoke format for the ultimate in karaoke entertainment. Sing along with just the music for a captivating solo performance, or select the virtual duet mode and belt out a couple of tunes with popular selection of prerecorded vocals. Add a 10-bit video D/A converter and DTS digital out and Dolby digital out and you've got one very impressive DVD player. This player features 5-Speed Smooth Motion Scan & Slow, Auto Switching Field/Frame Still, and Still and Step Forward functions. Further contributing to its performance is Virtual Surround Sound (VSS) for an outstanding sound quality.
Amazon.com Review
Panasonic's feature-packed DVD-K510 DVD-Video player is a wonder of modern digital engineering and a must for any karaoke enthusiast. If you're not a Carpenters or Michael Jackson wannabe, however, you'll have to think carefully about this purchase. While the DVD-K510 has an S-Video output and two composite-video connectors, it does not have component video outputs for a higher-quality picture through a compatible monitor--something most DVD players in this price range offer. Clearly, what you're paying for here is the karaoke setup--but what a setup it is!
The DVD-K510 features full-blooded Dolby Digital karaoke, which comes with Virtual Duet, Guide Melody on/off, two front-panel microphone inputs with independent level controls, echo-level control, voice changer, and--the best part--13-step digital key control, which lets you transpose the key without altering the tempo. Another excellent feature is that the unit doesn't restrict you to just playing karaoke discs. The front-panel "mic control" input to coordinate start cues is also convenient.
The more traditional DVD functions are also here: Chapter/track skip and search, slow motion, still-frame, frame-advance, auto power-off, Resume Play, as well as less-common capabilities like a favorites-oriented marker function, scrolling text display, virtual surround sound (designed for spacious two-channel sound), and the inclusion of a shuttle wheel for hands-on searching.
In keeping with the DVD-K510's karaoke bent, the player's audio performance is very good, offering state-of-the-art 24-bit/96kHz digital-to-analog decoding through the RCA analog outputs.
Pros:
- Dolby Digital and DTS outputs
- Extensive front-panel controls
- Multiple video outputs
- Comprehensive karaoke features
Cons:
- No component video output
- No coaxial audio output

Powerline Networking Kit IOGEAR's Powerline Networking Kit allows you to network your home computers, networking devices and gaming devices through the most pervasive medium in your house - the electric powerlines - and share Internet connections, printers, transfer files, play games, and more. This kit can be used to network two computers with a 10/100Base-T adapter through powerlines. Another application is to extend a WiFi network to the furthest part of the house or facility by using powerlines. It is a very simple and convenient way to circumvent WiFi dead spots. It can also be used to link through a powerline two network devices such as a gaming device and a Broadband router, in order to allow playing games through Internet. This kit is compliant with HomePlug Powerline Specifications 1.0, offers up to 14 Mbps bandwidth, and is less prone to interference. Installation requires only a 10/100Base-connection on the computer or the device. By offering 56-bit DES encryption, it is also much more secure than other home networking technologies such as wireless Ethernet.
Customer Reviews:
Easy setup, works fine, with a warning.......2007-07-14
I installed this in a room that had a single circuit. Possibly on that circuit were a 650-watt power supply, a high-def TV, an iron and a 550-watt amp. I found that the sending unit worked flawlessly when plugged in to an electrical outlet ahead of the power hungry items or when the power hungry items were not turned on. But when the bridge was plugged in to an outlet after (on the circuit) several of the turned-on power-hungry items, the signal degraded to worthless. Moving the bridge to the first outlet on the circuit cured the problem but required a 50 foot cable.
I describe this as not a problem with the bridge but with the wiring in the room. I offer it here as a potential warning or tip if yours doesn't seem to work right out of the box.
Installation, other than the debugging of the plug placement, is as easy as just plugging the boxes into the wall socket and the network cables (10BaseT) into the boxes. Speed on the bridge-connected system is as good as for the direct connected system.
In several weeks of use, there have been no problems.
