The Basics

Hard Drive: The ATA-100 (Enhanced IDE) 40 GB (7200 RPM) hard drive is small in comparison with other desktop PCs in this price range, but it's understandable due to its classification as a business professional computer (where much data is shared and stored on networked servers).
Processor: The 3.4 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor offers the speed you'll need for today's demanding office productivity software and multimedia presentations. It features a fast 800 MHz front-side bus (FSB), which measures how fast a processor and the main memory communicate, and a 512 KB L2 cache. I'm sure this receiver is just fine for watching movies etc., but if you do any sound design work and need to pay special attention to your audio, avoid getting this guy. This receiver has a fan inside of it and ANYTIME the receiver detects a signal it starts spinning and making VERY distracting noises. When I even listen to small sound snippets, the fan still spins. Why?? It's not like this would cause the unit to overheat... Don't even try disconnecting the fan because the unit will detect that it is no longer connected and it will reset itself. So... if you like the sound of your audio accompanied by a whirring fan, then this is the receiver for you.

I really wanted to like this drive but I've encountered nothing but problems with it since day one. Little did I know that it was only the beginning of the nightmare. If you expect any kind of customer support or technical service, you are dreaming. I've sent no less than 7 e-mails to technical support only to get bounced back each time with a canned generic response. I've tried calling several times only to be on hold for 30 minutes before hanging up. On a few occasions I tried leaving a voice message after being prompted only...guess what...it doesn't work (imagine that). I accessed their web site to leave my name and contact information and when I went to submit...you guessed it...didn't work. Once, I was actually lucky enough to talk to a technical person after 30 minutes of holding and he refused to believe that anything was wrong with the drive nor would he do anything about it. So unless you're feeling especially lucky, I would definitely consider another drive.

Too many problems.......2002-10-17

I bought a QPS back in April, I had configuration issues right away.
I followed the tech support format and emailed them. Giving them benefit of possibly being busy or email issues I emailed four times over four weeks from seperate servers. They do not respond through support.
Now the hardware failed, I repeated the email attempts with no response and have phone support three times in two weeks to give up in Cue after 45 minutes.
Now I have a very high phone Bill coming and a useless QPS device that I will eat also.
Please don't allow companies like this to thrive, which they all too commonly do in todays market.
Buy elsewhere.

I was looking for a CD burner drive that allows me to backup files at job, at friends' and of course at home. This unit has given me that freedom! So far I plugged in on two computers and two laptops and I never had a problem. I was able to read mp3 CDs that I couldn't read with conventional drives. If you need a CD burner drive to use in many computers this is the one you need. It's nice, fast, and problems-free!

Didn't work for me.......2002-04-02

I tried installing this drive on a 6-month old Sony VAIO notebook, and I couldn't write a single CD out of a dozen. I looked at everything on their web site, and all the documentation on the supplied CD-Rom. Couldn't figure out what was going on. Finally found some tiny small-print on the box (and nowhere else is this mentioned) -> it will only support Windows 98SE or ME, if and only if you have an Adaptec USB host controller card. My VAIO has a generic card, so it's a no-go.

It works great. Just plug in, load programs and go! It is fast, quiet and cd's sound awesome. Thank you for making it easy for me. I knew I wanted something to record fast off my laptop, even though it was an external recorder. I got everything I wanted and at a great price. I highly recommend this QPS product!!

The last review with a one star rating was for a Mac user. I can't comment on that, but have had this printer for over three years. I absolutely love it. It has duplex and toner-save features and both can be set on the printer itself. No need to constantly tweak printer settings. 500-sheet paper tray. You can print wirelessly, ethernet, lpt1:, or USB. Paid $400 for mine, not surprised that used ones are more than $700.

I have had this printer for a year, and it has been nothing but grief. Maybe for a PC it works better, but the print drivers for mac are all horrible, and none of the functionality works. Sometimes I can set it up to print, but anytime the network is reconfigured, it takes me hours, literally hours, to get the right combination to get the printer re-hooked up.

Samsung's support sucks, as do their drivers.

if you're not embroiled in the MP3 craze. I recently purchased this radio for the second time (for my girlfriend) because it is probably the best stereo out there for the workplace. As the price indicates, this isn't a boombox which you're going to carry on your shoulder down the street but rather a light to medium range sounding box which is compact in size (fits great on the workdesk) and won't annoy the coworkers. I would suggest buying this to ease your time at work and only if you've just about lost your mind if your company's central air system is driving you nuts!

I had bought this camera at sears a few years ago. it works pretty good, i have never had a problem with weird noise, or bad picture or anything, the only bummer is if you want a camera that is easy to be able to transfer your video to disk, then this is not the camera for you, but if you prefer tapes its pretty good, and you can get the tapes from wal-mart, so all in all its a fairly good camera.

My wife purchased the camcorder for our trip to Europe. I'm 60 and have never used a camcorder. I prefer still pictures. I tried the video and the pictures and sound were crisp and true. The still pictures were very good. I found the camcorder easy to use and it gave good results for a new video maker. I would recommend buying it.

Not so great.......2003-12-31

I got the camcorder, took it home, charged the battery, and started to experiment with it. Seemed fine at first. I was happy with it. The next day, (or the day after, maybe) I noticed a noise that happened while I was recording that sounded annoying. I took the camcorder to a concert to record a band and the tape seemed to drag. I popped the tape into one of the Playpak adapters (whatever you call them) to watch the video on the living room TV and noticed that the sound quality wasn't so great, and neither was the video quality. I don't know if this is just a bad-quality camcorder in all, or if I just happened to buy a bad one. My advice is to research everything you can before getting one of these. Try out others, whatever you want/need to do, but I, personally, do not recommend this camcorder to anyone. The tape seemed to drag, the video quality wasn't that great, the sound quality was pretty poor. The built in microphone, to me, seemed a little too sensitive. Now one thing I realized is that I had the video mode in SLP (super long play) so that the tape would last longer, which sacrifices some of the quality of the video and sound, but that shouldn't cause the tape to drag. And the microphone just seemed a little too sensitive, to me. I don't really recommend this camcorder. Maybe I just happened to pick up a bad one but if they're all like the one I bought, I definately do NOT recommend this one.
