The IBM Netvista M42 refers to a *line* of systems. Some are desktops, some are towers. Some have built in video, some have add-on cards. I would not buy this system until Amazon updates the technical data so you know which one you are getting.
It's a very good line, oriented toward the business user.

Review is for the PNY Vibe 1GB White.
Sound quality is average; nothing spectacular.
Bootup takes quite a while compared to other flash players (10-13 secs).
Transfer is also slow since it's only USB1.1.
Device will not save files over 15-16MB so those who wants to listen to long audio files or save huge files are SOL; disappointing given the storage size of this thing.
No other performance problems otherwise.
PNY's Customer Service is non-existent........2005-03-07
I bought a flash drive pen product from PNY August 2004. It worked fine for a about 6 months then the drive fried and I lost everything on it. The pen portion had a 30 day warranty and the drive has a one year warranty. I checked out PNY's website, they sent me a RMA return form, label, etc... with instructions to send the "defective" part, and a copy of the invoice, so I sent them exactly what they asked for. They returned the item back to me stating that I hadn't sent the entire item[without contacting me even though I gave them 3 phone numbers]. I'd just sent the drive, not the pen portion [since that was a separate warranty item and they only stated to send the defective part]. So, I resent it and included the pen portion [postage twice now, return receipt as they recommend, of about $10]. I have now received an email stating they are sending it back "again" not stating why in the email, but that an explanation will be provided with the product return. No telephone numbers have been included in anything for me to talk to a live person. What a run around.
My advice is: Do NOT buy a PNY product unless you think it will make it through the warranty period and you won't ever need customer service. There are plenty of manufacturers with better product AND good customer service.
Nice design, good sound, fatal flaw.......2004-12-31
It's a nice unit - small, light and it sounds very good. Why, however, have a 1 GB unit that only allows 255 entries? Try as you might - once you hit 255 entries (folder names and filenames each count as an entry) you can not add another song no matter how much memory you have left. I have 256 meg left and my unit can not accept any more songs.
Let's hope PNY comes up with a firmware fix.
Customer Service for this unit does not exist - only a FAQ which does not address this issue.
Doesn't seem to play WMAs despite what PNY says.......2004-12-21
I have about 20 or so WMA music files that
have digital rights management on them. These
files play fine on a Gateway mp3 player but not on the
PNY Vibe 1GB. So this means I have to burn the WMAs
into an audio CD, and then rip the songs from the
CD into MP3s. What a pain. PNY's tech support hasn't
responded.
Unlike the previous reviewer, I am able to use the
full 1 Gbyte capacity. There appears to a limit to how
many files can be put into a single folder. I just create
multiple folders. In two folders I have about 125 songs each.
The Vibe can play through each mp3 song across all folders
with no problem.
The navigation takes a little while to learn.
If you don't need WMA support, then whenever you can get this
on sale, it is a good deal.
Excellent, however, buy the 512 MB.......2004-12-16
Excellent product. Easy to use and lots of useful functions. Please note that you should be aware of converting your music Cds into MP3 or WMA files and you also must have a computer with a working USB port.
I have owned the 512 MB and now the 1 GB. I highly recommend the 512 MB as the 1 GB only offers an additional 227 MB of storage space for your data (723 MB total). The boys at PNY are working on this problem so buy 512 MB that offers 496 MB total. Also the 512 MB is an executive looking black unit while the 1GB is pasty white in color (yuck!).

great kitchen TV/VCR.......2001-06-23
The RCA kitchen TV/VCR with the swivel base has been a wonderful addition to our kitchen. The picture is very clear and the VCR easy to use. The remote control is also very user friendly. But the best part is the attached swivel base. The swivel base is not visible. And the TV turns very easily and safely. It doesn't slide on the counter top when my little son pushes on the TV's controls and I'm not worried about him pushing it off the counter top.
Best kitchen TV on the market.......2000-11-18
After doing a complete kitchen remodel, we shopped around for a small TV/VCR combo for the kitchen. We looked at some much more expensive models, with specs that looked better on paper. We are very fussy about picture quality and didn't want to suffer with an inferior image. However, the sealed membrane remote control sealed the deal for my wife, who is the primary user. That was a year ago, and this TV has been one of the more satisfying products of any type we've bought recently. The picture is much better than I had imagined once I got rid of the silly factory settings and calibrated it to a realistic level. It is on and off all day long as we are in and out of the kitchen. All the ergonomic features work perfect, from the swivel base, the grab handle behind the top surface to the membrane remote that can be picked up with wet hands without damaging it. The tape function work well, and my wife has been using her cooking tapes quite a bit. It is amusing to us now that we were prepared to pay three times as much to get a good picture. We have had a chance to look at those other sets since, and we now know that this set beats them all on ergonomics and kitchen specific functions, and holds it's own on image quality with the expensive sets. A win / win for us.

Bought in 2001 and now the shuttler can hardly respond. Also focus is always a problem.

I bought the camera about a year ago. Had several problems with it. It's difficult to focus. Then the white balance, difficult to set. Then finally the worst, the shutter button stopped responding! This made my cammera completely useless! I am totally disappointed with the performance. Not a good investment.

We purchased this camera a little over a year ago and have not had any success with it. Every picture taken of a moving object comes across blurry and our efforts to try different settings did not change the results.
Now the shutter button does not work at all. Of course, we are now out of warranty. I would not suggest spending money on this product. You too will be disappointed.

3 words.. Simple, Perfect, Beautiful..
This camera has everything that u wld want from a point and shoot. The pictures are sharp, colors are beautiful. The battery gets discharged quicker but then u can save it by shutting the display off.. it gets charged fairly quickly.
I got snaps printed from [local stores]. All came excellent..
love this camera..
