The ThinkCentre M50 model features a tool-free chassis design, which simplifies and enhances usability. The Basics

Chassis Design
It's encased in a durable black steel chassis that offers maximum flexibility for servicing and upgrading components inside the M50. Toolless-entry design makes upgrades easier and repairs faster with a cover that can be opened without tools, plus toolless slots and internal bays that flip up to allow components to slide out. ThinkCentre M50 desktops also feature an innovative "caddy" that surrounds the hard disk drive, locking it into place without the use of tools or screws. I recently purchased the RQSW88V after I dropped my 15-year old Aiwa HS-T65 once too often. I listen to jazz and classical music, and thus depend on the nearest NPR FM stations in Boston, 45 miles from where I live. If I stand still and position the RQSW88V just right, I can barely hear the stations, but static is overpowering. Obviously, the purpose in owning a portable is to use it on the move, not stand still like a scarecrow. The normal/city switch doesn't help, and there is no FM mono switch, which would help clear up the static. The headphone wire (i.e., the FM antenna) is not the problem, as I have three excellent sets of headphones and tried them all. The audio quality of the RQSW88V is good except that on the default setting the bass is a bit lacking. Unfortunately, when you turn on the S-XBS bass, the bass is overpowering, tubby, and unnatural. There is no belt-clip. There is no clock. There are no controls to adjust for different kinds of tape. In other respects, the unit is ok. In contrast, my 15-year old Aiwa pulls in the Boston stations, has separate treble, mid-range, and bass controls, an FM stereo-mono switch, a Dolby switch, a metal/CrO2 switch, a removable belt-clip, and a clock. Before buying the RQSW88V, I searched the web and supposedly the RQSW88V is a top of the line product. Although electronics products quality and value have improved immensely in the last 15 years, the RQSW88V is clearly going in the opposite direction. I am greatly disappointed and would be furious except that I bought the unit for $50. At $119, it deserves to be discontinued. I have seen from other reviews that the RQSW99 is the same as the RQSW88 except that the RQSW99 has brain-shaker bass. I recommend these units only for people who want to have their brains shaken.

Its basically OK.
Its fast enough but since it comes with Windows CE 2.2 (outdated) and only a small memory and expansion slot, its not comparable to the big names in hand-held technology.
I think Phillips abandoned it too early and i'm not sure how to get support, but with a modem and wireless phone, this could be used by average businessman to send and receive e-mail.
It has a neat organizer and NoteTaker, Calendar and really well done handwriting program which is precise and quick. The lack of support and small memory and expansion card that's incompatible with today's flash cards, makes this product only marginally useful. For the price maybe not so great. ...

Windows CE brings it down.......2000-03-17

I love the style and visual appeal of this device, but the Windows CE interface is so clumsy on this little cutie. I really wish they had gone to another vendor, rather than supporting Microsoft in their efforts to dominate. Basically, since CE is sooo bad, Nino is bad too. I cant stand that start button! Way to much clicking and pointing for such a small device. Sorry Phillips! But you did real good on TiVo!

Nino An Excellent PDA.......2000-02-29

Nino gives consumers what they want, more for their money! I have had mine now for about a month and find myself using it every single day... it synchs well with my workstation and includes the 19.2 click on modem, something that costs much more as an option on other PDA's. Although phillips is no longer servicing or supporting Nino, their website still has excellent resources available. Tip: Download all the updates, and files for Nino, in case the website is pulled... I recommend this device over Palms of cheaper and more expensive varieties... unless you want a color screen, Nino is a great PDA!
