Go ahead, find a center channel for the same price that even comes close to the sound of the CSi3. I dare you.

When paired with a good mid-line or better receiver (my own is paired with a Yamaha RX-V557), this speaker will not let you down. During movies and video games, voices are incredibly natural. Between the silk-dome tweeter and the two drivers, this speaker can hit every frequency that human vocal chords are capable of producing; that's important for a center-channel.

Although I generally stick to stereo for most music, unless it's encoded properly for surround, this speaker will also impress during your favourite tunes. Don't expect much in the lower frequencies, but mid and highs-will be as accurate as you can imagine.

Finally, though to me, this is one of those superficial qualities, the case design allows the user to place the center below his or her television, pointed up at the user. This adds another measure of flexibility, although the fact that polk doesn't use this design in their top-line LSiC might point toward how the company really feels about such a speaker arrangement.

All-in-all, you can't go wrong with the CSi3. The average listener will be blown away, and audiophiles will be impressed with such performance at this price point. I know that I certainly am.

This center speaker for the price is fantastic. The voices are very crisp and it sounds great with a dts/dolby digital receiver. I love this center speaker makes my surround sound system intense! POLK AUDIO did a great job. I even got the cheap r30 front speakers and it eally added what I was looking for. My neighbors hate them but it is worth it! Ha!

Not a good buy.......2001-05-11

I made a big mistake of buying this external drive without reading other users opinions. This combo firewire drive heats up fast and stops burning CDR/CDRW after 2 successful tries. I ended up with dozens of coasters with this drive. It's a good thing this drive comes with the firewire card that I can use with my other firewire devices. I would like to return it to the vendor but I wouldn't waste my money for the shipping fees and get another .. replacement in return...

The review below is not correctly stated. The fastest burner/speed on the market is 16x (Yamaha LightSpeed). Also there is no such thing as 24x CDs! 4x is not a fast burner, obviously this guy is pretty dumb he probably got a 3 min. burn time because he was only writing a little bit of data to a "700 MB" disc.

Streko claims that this burner writes at 24x, and does a cd in 3 minutes. Actually, this burner reads at 24x, and writes at only 4x. That is the slowest speed for cd burners on the market today. I don't own this burner, but just thought you'd like to know the truth.

i'll tell you, this is the fastest burner for the cheapest price. the only reason i gave it 4 stars was because i already had a dvd rom drive and didn't really need that feature. 24x burning speed is extremely fast (burns full 700mb in less than 3 min), but speaking for myself, i don't need that fast of a burner. also, 24x wasn't the best in some cases because you had to find 24x certified cds, which are kinda hard to find.

Beautiful to see and even more beautiful to hear, the Spirit studio monitor from Mark Levinson's Red Rose Music is easily one of the finest speakers ever fashioned. Flawless design, solid engineering, and careful component selection unite in a speaker that's profoundly musical--stunningly coherent and utterly convincing in its delivery of nearly any program.

Levinson has had his hands in high-end audio for more than 30 years now, and his deep commitment to musical rightness and sonic accuracy serves the Spirit well.

The Spirit, also available in French sycamore, is all about smoothness and detail, muscularity as well as sensitivity. In our listening, the Spirit showed itself capable of being nearly all things to all music, as the music and our recordings required. Its appreciable bass output extends below 50 Hz, and--largely because of the speaker's uncanny way with sound--we found that only the most bass-intensive music (dance and techno music, certain organ works) demanded a bigger speaker.

Key to the speaker's success is its tweeter, a hand-formed aluminum ribbon rather than the traditional small fabric dome. Voices and acoustic instruments sound downright holographic, their natural harmonics both present and balanced, owing as much to the high quality of the crossover (which splits the incoming signal between the 5-inch woofer and the tweeter) as to the speaker's impressive high-frequency extension. Sounds often lost or unnoticed in playback through lesser speakers seem to appear out of nowhere, giving important (if subtle) spatial cues that help define a sense of space around the music.

If the tweeter sounds delicate, know that it is--you won't want to blow on it or place the speaker where it can be bumped or jostled. Keep the speaker clear of TVs and computer monitors as well, since the tweeters require strong magnetic fields that can distort video signals.

Red Rose makes short, custom speaker stands for the Spirit in French sycamore, rosewood, and transparent Plexiglas, though they also sound great on sturdy ear-level stands.

The only caveat we noted in listening is the distance from the speaker to the listening position. For best effect, the Spirit deserves to be heard relatively near field (from five to eight feet away) and in a fairly nonreflective environment--carpeting and bookshelves are a plus. The off-axis response changes pretty radically along the vertical plane, so be sure to position the pair carefully, according to your taste or to the sage guidelines in the Spirit's manual.

Even at more than a thousand dollars a pair, the Spirit is not just a strong value, but a true bargain. You won't find anything approaching this degree of refinement and musical ability at anything close to this low a price. Panasonic RF-SW70K Radio is Terrible.......2007-03-09

We never could get this radio to work correctly. The most it would do is continually scan for stations, never pausing more than a second or so. We were not able to set any of the presets. The user friendliness was terrible. Even had it worked as we thought it should, it was still not easy to remember the process to use it. Either it was broken or of such poor design that a reasonable person couldn't get it to work (and my field is technology). If it was broken, that speaks of poor quality control. We returned it for a refund. Waste of time.

Meets my needs, but could be better.......2006-12-20

The reason I bought this radio was for watching TV at the health club and also for baseball games while walking the dog. The size and weight of this radio meet these needs. FM radio receiption is patchy. I find many of radio stations do not come in at the health club. I would love to find a AM\FM\MP3 player. I only know of one, and the price is outrageous. So this radio will have to do for the moment. Would I purchase it again. Yes, for listening to the ball game on AM radio. For music I would go with an MP3 player that has FM capabilities.

I've had this for well over a year. FM of course is limited to line-of-sight distance to the station, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone in the San Francisco Bay Area (or any other city with mountains or 2,000 foot hills for that matter). AM is okay. It's small. The battery life is great. BUT, I lost the instructions. It is almost impossible to program the five stations (10 with FM) intuitively. It may have only 3 buttons to diddle with, but these buttons have to be held in one of two or four directions to lock in a station. So...unless I'm going to listen to my one primary baseball station, I just take my MP3 player and listen to music on walks.

First off, it would not hold the ear plug very well to keep the conection for the sound. Second, the directions were difficult
and time consuming. It took my wife an hour to figure it out. It is hard to send back when you get charged 20% restock fee plus shipping. Not Happy!!!

This is a great little device which has your basic am/fm functions with presets and XBS. Included neck strap is an added bonus for hands free listening. Also has a built in stop watch. A backlit display for night viewing would have been really nice though.
