Nifty little gadget.......2007-02-20

Recently bought one of these as was first off impressed with the quick shipment, no need to get expediated shipping b/c it arrived in about 4-5 days. Several things on the pros and cons of this item, and the pros greatly outweight the cons:

Pros:
- for the money, you can't beat it, hands down. You are definately getting more than what you paid for if your into gadgets.
- It is very easy to drag and drop pictures, mp3s, etc... right onto the file folder when it opens up as a different drive.
- Yes, can you believe it, it actually plays videos that you can watch on this thing. The screen size is small, but what you get in portability you lose in size. I was working on several programs to take advantage of the video ability. My research told me that this player only will play videos in the ".amv" extenstion. Never heard of it until today when I started messing with it. After a lot of fiddling I found an "amv" converter which worked great - however I could only convert "mpeg1 & mpeg2" files into "amv." Or at least that is what the software I found supported. I tried a bunch, but I could only convert from MPEG files, not AVI(like I really wanted).
- one is able to put .jpeg and .bitmap pictures on it quite easily
- unlike other MP3 players I have bought, one has to rely on batteries but this unit actually has an onboard battery and a plug in charger(believe it or not). I think you can also recharge by the computer's USB
- radio really works great!
- battery life, hmm don't know, just got it but seems to work fine.

The bad(well not that bad)
- the functions and menus are not condusive to quickly jumping to another song without backing out to the root menu where the mp3.s are stored. But I think this is more of a condition that the buttons are so darn small they didn't have anywhere to put a scroll wheel. I have an Ipod nano - great for mp3s but horrible if you want to "own" your own music.
- it has games on it, but why bother? the buttons are so small.

The naughty:
- yep, the guy who mentioned a virus was right - If I hadn't known to run a virus check on this drive, I could have come down with a nasty cold. BE FORWARNED - DO A VIRUS CHECK ON THE UNIT PRIOR TO USING.

All in all, probably will buy another one - it has a little bit of "wow, you can play videos on that thing to?" have fun with the unit, but it is really that small you could forget in your pants and give it a good cleaning it doesn't need in the washing machine.

Brilliant for the Money.......2007-02-13

For the money this is a very good little gadget. It plays MP3s, has a reasonable radio receiver and features lots of little extras while being easily navigable and compact. However, there are a couple of caveats.

The manual for the product is an amusing example of mangled English. While it does outline the basic operation of the unit, some of the subtleties are only really discoverable through experimentation.

The device came with a worm on it. This was easily knocked out with an anti virus program, but was irritating nonetheless. However, this is not as rare on MP3 players as one may initially assume and should not deter someone from buying it.

The presentation is very attractive, although somewhat cutesy and girly. As yet I can't see how to change some of the screens, although I assume it must be possible from the level of customisation and ease of use the player otherwise displays.

The sound quality was a pleasant surprise and the dimensions impressively compact. I wouldn't have a moment's hesitation in buying another one of these units, especially instead of a more expensive and less fully featured player.

Cheap Thrills.......2002-01-24

I bought mine at WalMart 2 years ago because I wanted something inexpensive and easy to fool around with. I was not expecting good quality pictures...and I was not disappointed.

But a funny thing happened when I was learning Photoshop.Needing images to work on, I scanned in my crappy snapshots at a fairly high resolution and was amazed at what appeared on my screen.Then I played with color,contrast,levels,etc.You can probably get the same results with any of the cheaper photo editting programs that are out there.

This only seems to be true for daylight pics.Everything I've taken after dark sucks because of the damn automatic flash.
Recently I tried a pack of the black and white film and the results were really cool.The camera itself cost about 30 bucks,but without a scanner and software the pics are pretty worthless.However it is incredibly easy to use and you can usually find good deals on the film which is available everywhere (for now anyway)The B/W film is a little harder to find,but worth it.

And I'll even admit to sneaking up on my sleeping cat for a candid close up...the motor whirrs as the camera spits out the picture and the puzzled look on his face is priceless.

This camera is relatively easy to use and the pictures are very good quality. I think it's important to remember that these cameras are for fun spontaneous moments like at parties and trips to amusement parks. It's an "INSTANT" camera and it does it's job very well.

I forgot to add that I had a heck of a time understanding the flash business on the manual. My pictures came out pretty good. Pretty surprised for a Polaroid. The case is kind of cool-turns into a fanny pack which is perfect for a busy parent who needs both hands.

This is a good camera if you like taking pictures and if you don't like waiting to get your pictures developed, especially for the price. The pictures aren't amazing, but they are pretty good for an instant camera. There is, obviously, a flash button but there's also a switch that you change according to how far away you are from the object you want to photograph. However, the manual is really confusing. Everything is demonstrated with an illustration and it's pretty difficult to figure out the part about the flash (I'm sure they couldn't just write it because there are so many languages that they wrote the warranty in!). But this is a great camera (and you get a box of film and a case with the kit)and I'd recommend it. But also, the film is expensive so use your pictures wisely!

The WORST you can buy.......2005-11-07

I don't know who "remanufactured" these units, but they are incompetent. I have never received an item in worse condition from Amazon (and I bought two): no manuals, no tuning ability, no function with cable. On and on. Don't even think about buying this junk. Additionally, if anything is ever shown as being shipped by "Eagle"...run for the hills. They show stuff as shipped that has never been shipped and are slow when they do ship. The worst experience.
