Great sound. I love how the necklace keeps my pocket uncluttered and the wires untangled. A lot of options. Blah blah blah everything is great, except...
1. the player is shaky when it comes to playing vbr (variable bit rate) mp3s. Sometimes it plays them perfectly, sometimes you hear it struggling, and sometimes the song gets cut off.
2. you can't see anything on the screen on a bright sunny day.
3. the battery life is very mediocre.
i still recommend this player though. There are a lot of positives that I'm too lazy to list here.

haha ok.. yeah i'm not really 13 or under... but i'm sixteen... and believe me in my whole year in school... in my marketing class we had presentations to do... and i had my fair share of researching mp3 players... 0_0... not that i say that i'm a whiz at it.. i just did alot of research.. and though other mp3 players do seem tempting... like the sony e407 or e507... i still chose this one over all of it... the reason why is not only of its features.. but the fact that i can wear it on my neck... no i know the previous reviewer did have problems with the size of the actual player and such... but it doesn't look so bad... in Asia, the n10 comes in a variety of colors.. red and white.. not like its much of a difference but it still is really nice. This player also won best style of the year 2005. and it is an alarm clock too, and the displays that it has when its playing,it makes it the ideal player for a person that moves around alot because theres no headphone cord to tangle with anything like a headset and other things... ^_ ^ plus its awsome to listen to in school...

With my phone, pda, wallet, keys took up most of my pockets' space, the iRiver N10 was just what I were looking for.
I was on the verge of purchasing the Sony E507 when I came across a review of the iRiver N10 by total accident. Although the Sony has a much longer battery life (50 hours to 10 hours), I was immediately charmed by N10's necklace form factor, usb charge, and most of all the capability to use it as an ums device with the lastest firmware.
After 3 days of waiting (I ordered from Amazon with 2 days shipping), my first impression of the N10 was one of disappointment. The player is quite big (for a pendant), and it came in one of those "blister" packaging. It is made from shiny plastic which looks cool, but is very finger print prone. The OLED screen fills just a fraction of the mirror like front, and is off to one side, not centered. A major flaw of the screen is the fact that it is unreadable under daylight. In other words, the N10 becomes an Ipod Shuffle when one uses it outdoor. The necklace could had been designed with better materials so it wouldn't look like I'm wearing an electric cord around my neck. Another complaint dwells upon the stock earbuds. They come in only one size and is quite big, could be uncomfortable for people with small ears. With other players, this is not a major problem, but for the N10, since the earphones are part of the whole design, iRiver should had provided replaceable buds of various sizes.
Okay, enough of negative comments, there are quite a lot to like about the N10 too. Living up to iRiver's fame, the audio is excellent. The sound is very clean, accurate, and loud. Charging versus USB was a breeze, a little over one hour from full discharge. With the little adapter and the latest firmware upgrade, the N10 can be used as a USB flash drive. There are a lot of tweaks hidden in the menu (press and hold M to access the menu). The player looks very classy, one will not feel uncomfortable wearing it in a business environment (with your own necklace ofcourse).
I am going to award the iRiver N10 3 out of 5 stars. Subtract 2 stars for the screen, earbuds, and necklace material. This doesn't mean that I don't like the player, in fact I love it, it just that it could had been done better.

Takes far better pictures than I expected, reasonable video with sound and it will do it underwater (not too deep though... alas)too. I enlarged a 3mp (average quality) sunrise to 16x20 and it rivals 35mm film in a good minolta. Its small size and ruggedness makes it perfect for in the boat or on the slopes, or camping. I find myself leaving the good 35mm behind in favor of this and Photoshop CS.

I bought this camera to take pictures for online auctions & ended up having to go back to getting regular film put on disks after WASTING TIME trying to get this digital camera working.What's worse is the COMPANY DOES NOT HELP!!The company wouldn't give me a toll-free number~Amazon did.No one picks up the phone at the company...You just get recording after recording while you are made to believe you are being connected to someone who will help.Emails to the company were answered with just links to their website, no personalized help.Then, when I thought I was about to get personalized help...the man never contacted me by email or phone!This camera may work on some other plane or planet...BUT THIS COMPANY SURE DOESN'T!!Unless you know everything there is to know about computers & digital cameras...DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME(or money)!
Good images for a VGA sensor........2000-08-05
I have had this about a week. The quality of the images is the best I have seen for a 640x480 imager. Details show up well. Colors are sort of grey, but reasonable.
Software it buggy -- disconnecting/reconnecting the USB cable with the camera on helps the twain software find the camera. I have not been able to get the PC-connected video camera feature to work, but basic image preview and transfer is fast with USB.
Battery life seems good though I am not previewing to a TV on battery power.
Good for a month or so, then it may die.......2000-07-26
I got one of these to play with a while back... One day it just froze up. The twain software that comes with it was very slow, and would often freeze in the middle of what it was doing. And when it was working, It wasn't even worth the money just for something to mess around with. I had to send it back... Now I learned my lesson - save up your money, and get something decent!

I bought this thing several years ago (3 or 4, i forget) through crutchfield back when no one knew what "g-protection" was. And the funny thing is, back then it was one of about three g-protection models available in the U.S. and it came with a remote and only cost $125. I never used the headphones that came with it, so I can't speak for them. I rarely use the remote because the cd player is rarely out of reach and if you combine the remote's cord with the one from the headphones you just get several feet of cord in your way. The metal cover makes a HUGE difference as far as durability goes. I have also run with this, left it on the floor of my car in a bumby ride, and even straight up dropped the thing several times and i have still NEVER heard it skip. I still have one significant complaint, the headphone output is weak. The volume can go from 0 to 9 with three levels per number. I always have it at about 7 or higher just to hear it. I've flown with the cd player and there is so much background noise on planes that with open aired headphones and the volume at max i still had trouble hearing. luckily i had more expensive closed headphones which made a difference. Still, i had to give this a 5. it's great, VERY thin, you'll be surprised, and the bateries do last forever.
Great Player, but Is The Difficulty Worth It?.......2001-05-09
I got this player for my birthday and immediately loved it. There are very few flaws in this CD player, and they can easily be forgotten. However, I wasn't able to use the player much, because it broke 2 months after I opened it. Thanks to Sony's warranty, I got free parts and labor when I brought it to my local Sony repair center. However, more bad news came when the center didn't have the part I needed and it had to be shipped to the Sony Headquarters, delaying the process. After a couple of weeks I finally got my player back, after replacing the lazer. But I couldn't use it long, because I found that the man at the repair shop didn't fully screw the lid shut, and because of that, the plastic broke. Back to the Sony headquarters it went and stayed for an additional 2 weeks, before they finally mailed me back a new one. After all this trouble, I now have a wonderful CD player. Everything about the player is great, but I couldn't bring myself to give it 5 stars after all that trouble. Easily the best feature is the LCD Remote, which once you use, you will be unable to let go, I assure you. It is the greatest idea yet, and it works excellent. So, with all of my troubles aside, I highly reccomend this player. From all that I hear from people, these problems are not common, and I must have just gotten unlucky, so I highly reccomend you get this player. It is worth the money (and the time.)
A Great Buy!.......2001-02-22
I spent a lot of time trying to decide whether to get the Sony DEJ815 CD Walkman or one of the other top-of-the-line discmans out there. After much consideration, I went with the DEJ815 and I haven't regretted it since. The pros of this little discman are endless-- I am very satisfied with it, it has never let me down in any area, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's considering buying a new discman.
First of all, it looks great- very sleek, light and thin. The controls are well laid out. The sound is very good- especially with the Mega Bass. The headphones are a bit cheap, but those can easily be replaced. The backlit remote is convenient for controlling your discman while running. As for skipping- IT WON'T SKIP. I've shaken it, dropped it on the floor, jogged with it, and it has never skipped. I replaced the rechargeable batteries for a two-week trip with 2 normal AA batteries, and after playing 15+ full CDs on it, the battery was still full. With the rechargeable batteries it will last a few days, then can be charged back up to full within 2 hours, which saves a lot of money on batteries. The CD to MD text transfer is useful for me when I record on to my minidisc player, but most people don't need that feature. The included rubber carry case w/handle is great for use while jogging.
As for the other popular discmans out there-- the DEJ915 has an impractical design, the DEJ611 is OK but does not match up to the DEJ815 in quality.
I am very satisfied with this discman. I recommend spending the extra money on this one instead of buying a cheap one then having to replace it later when it breaks. It looks great, it sounds great, has long battery life and plenty of extras. Overall, it's a solid product and well worth the price.
Awesome player, few drawbacks.......2001-02-12
It's been said and beaten up in the previous reviews the beauties of this cd player: impossible to skip (which actually is about 30 seconds if you open the cd player and trick it into playing with the lid off and stopping the cd), awesome design and aluminium casing and such. However I don't like the fact that the remote is plastic, just feels cheap. Headphones too, whats with them? I just threw mine out immediately and hooked up my Grado SR80s up. It also seems that the external battery case can break real easily though I never use it... Also, if you press on the unit you can *scratch* the cd which is a design flaw (just press on the play button with a cd in, you can hear the cd scratch).
One day with this player, it suddenly stopped working, I found out that the batteries were screwed so I recharged and discharged them and a week later it started working again, weird... Just a little story I think is important to share...
As for sound quality, it sounds decent, the headphone amplifier isn't all too great, only a 5mW 16ohm output so an amplifier is needed to run high quality/high impedance headphones (high quality means 100$+, not these pathetic 10-30$ headphones you usually see that sounds like my clock alarm). However, you can't expect such a high battery life with a good headphone output, which leads me to another point, this unit has an awesome run time, I almost never need to worry about the batteries, and when they run out, a 2 or so hour recharge will let them run for a while.
Sony D-EJ815.......2001-02-09
I've owned this player for about 6-months now. I initially bought it because my nice kenwood got thrown and did not survive. This player is very nice, reliable, and comes with a carrying case for joggers. I bought a pair of Sony MDR-G52 streetstyle headphones because I don't like the stock headphones. I've tried to make this player skip without luck. WOW! Don't spend the extra $100 for the 915, this player is great. The rechargable batteries dont last as long as disposables (these last really, really long) but I guess that's their nature. My only gripe is that it distorts when you turn the volume up past 8 (10 max). I like loud music!! but maybe this is good..(my kenwood went really loud).
