Great Product.......2001-03-25

This is a great product! It's lightweight, durable and very easy to use. You can add neat effects to what you are filming and can edit them using the software included. One very small yet a flaw none the less is that I can't find any more batteries for the camcorder and I'm stuck with one that doesn't last very long if you're constantly using it. All in all this is a great product that I'd highly recommend.

I bought this camcorder 2 months ago. I have barely used it, but when I do I get great images and superb sound. This would be great with a computer (in which I do not have). I have plugged it in to my television for editing and playback. A good product for family use. Birthday parties, Holidays, and special occasions can all be recorded. This is the top of the line in technology with MINI DV.

I just bought this camera's successor, the JVC GR-DVL505U. It arrived yesterday, and it seems like a great product! I really only tried taking some basic shots and importing them into the PC, but I have high hopes for some great online home video in the future!

I just got back from a 3 week romp in europe and this camera did more than I expected, light and very compact. JVC also provide the user with everything you'll need to begin and the charger is dual voltage so just buy the adapter ... and just go. Picture quality is Awesome, but the still are not to good, I really should read the instructions maybe I'm missing somthing.

The Xerox WorkCentre XE90fx offers a cost-effective way to combine a mainstream laser printer, fax machine, copier, and document scanner into a single space-conscious unit. This multifunction model is an excellent choice if you are a small-office user who needs a walk-up fax and copy machine, as well as a laser printer.

The XE90fx features a laser printer engine with a straight-through paper path from back to front, and a flatbed copier with an automatic document feeder mounted on top. In this design, input pages feed in separately at a right angle to the output sheets, helping to speed up performance. The document feeder handles up to 50 sheets and the paper source holds 250 pages. We found the dual paper paths quite reliable and didn't experience a single jam during our testing.

There are two separate control panels on the XE90fx. On the top of the unit are a traditional fax keypad, 20 one-touch dial buttons, and an LCD panel that displays status and setup prompts. To change the machine's options, you scroll through the LCD menus using scroll buttons. On the lower front of the unit is the printer/copier control panel. This panel features start and stop buttons, zoom controls to adjust from 50 to 200 percent, and an LED display that shows the number of copies.

Our testing yielded six copies per minute and over seven pages per minute of 600 dpi printing--both very respectable speeds for this class. We were able to feed nine pages per minute for fax transmission using the machine's fax-from-memory feature. We liked the generous 50-page document feature but found the output tray, also rated at 50 pages, a bit shallow for that number of pages. The only significant limitation of this model is its inability to scan in color.

Along with the printer driver and TWAIN-compatible scanner driver, the XE90fx comes with Xerox TextBridge Pro 8.0 optical character recognition software. Although this Xerox offering doesn't provide for scanning color images, it meets standard business needs well.

Great but Beware!.......2001-06-30

This machine is everything I want in a single machine and easily fits in my home office. Great quality! However, this machine will not scan if you have an AMD processor found in high-end Compaqs such as mine. So beware of that since the company does not mention that in any literature.

Worst printer I've ever used (software is horrible too!).......2000-12-08

This is an abomination! I had to return my first WorkCentre because the copier didn't work. They sent me another one and every now and then it goes into a loud "HUMMMMM" mode in which it won't print or shut up (it needs to be turned off for a few minutes to cool down). 'E1' errors abound all the time, forcing you to reload paper on average of every 5 print/copy jobs even though there is no paper jam.

On top of all this, the software driver acts also as a printer monitor which takes up significant system resources. The worst thing about this is when you print, or if the printer is shared and somebody else prints, there is a huge lag depending on the size of the print job, rendering the OS unusable until the printjob is completely sent to the printer. So basically, you can't use your computer for a minute or so after you hit the print button.

In short this is a very bad choice. Others I know purchased the HP printer/scanner/copier/fax and have had much better experiences.

I bought the XE90fx when it first came on the market (through Amazon because it was not available in retail stores yet). It was the only machine that did everything I wanted for a reasonable price. I am now on my fourth machine. No, I have not bought more machines, rather Xerox has replaced the first three. On the first machine, the clip on the paper tray broke (it is rather flimsy). Xerox replaced that machine with a refurbished machine which did not feed straight. The third machine (also a refurbished machine) did not feed at all - right out of the box. Since we'd had so many problems they sent us another new machine. This one has developed spotting in the printing. None of them have been able to print on my letterhead (the ink smudges). I love the variety of functions, and wish it actually performed. Unfortunately, it is not nearly sturdy enough. Xerox has been good about replacing the machines, but after awhile enough is enough.

Disappointed at nearly every turn.......2000-07-18

I am disappointed with this product in several respects. The lack of a paper tray and the fact that the printer lays out the printed pages face up causes the documents printed to come out of the printer in a stack that is arranged in reverse order. That can be corrected by instructing the computer to print in reverse order, but it is then a nuisance to use letterhead or cover pages, as they cannot be inserted on the top of the paper stock. To print an envelope, one has to remove all of the paper stock. The instructions that come with the printer also recommend that only one envelope be printed at a time, which requires standing over the computer. The printer often causes a "product communication error" message which requires that the print job be aborted and restarted. The time between pushing "print" and the first page being printed is unbearably long at times. The toner is used up more quickly than any other printer I've ever used, and the ink doesn't adhere to the page well enough to use on envelopes without covering the address with tape. The printed manual is remarkably poor and often useless. I would not buy this product again and do not recommend it. A stand alone copier, fax, and scanner would have been a far better way to go. The aggravation that has gone into this printer far outweighs the additional cost of three separate machines.
