The Minolta Freedom Zoom 150 panorama/date camera is one of the world's smallest 35mm cameras with a full 4x zoom lens. It weighs only 6.7 ounces, yet it offers an array of automatic features for trouble-free snapshooting. Film transport is fully automatic. After loading the film, the Minolta Freedom Zoom 150's back cover remains securely locked until the film is rewound into the cartridge, thereby preventing the film from being ruined by accidentally opening the back cover.

The Freedom Zoom 150 features a passive-type autofocus system, which uses approximately 900 focusing steps to ensure razor-sharp results. This autofocus system is similar to the kind used in single-lens reflex cameras and can focus accurately even on distant subjects, mirror images, or subjects beyond a windowpane. Other features include an automatic six-mode flash, automatic exposure, and a self-timer.

The quartz data feature imprints the date or time onto each photo. Data imprinting can be switched on or off whenever you desire and is useful for cataloging photographs or keeping photo records of birthdays, weddings, graduations, and other important events. Great Little Camera.......2004-11-10

I have now owned my Minolta Freedom Zoom Date 150 for almost one year, and I still love it! I have taken many, many rolls of film with this camera (I bought it one month prior to the birth of our first child) and have been very pleased with the camera's perfomance.
First, it is a small camera. At first, I was concerned with it's size but I have found the size to be an advantage because it fits in an already crowded diaper bag, my purse, or even my jacket pocket. In other words, you can take it with you just about anywhere.
Second, the zoom on this camera is nice. For the price I paid, I couldn't believe how far the camera zooms in. I paid much more for my previous camera and the zoom was not as good as the 150. My husband says I zoom in so close I get people's nose hairs, but that isn't my intention!
Third, the picture quality has been sharp on all my photos. Indoor, outdoor, night time...everywhere, my shots have all been crystal clear and sharp. The colors in the photographs are vivid and bright, and very true to real life.
My only complaint is that even with the red eye reduction, I still sometimes get pictures with red eye. But, that could be my fault.
I highly recommend this camera and hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I do.

we kept coming back to this one camera.
we are so sorry we bought it. sometimes we get red eyes, sometimes we get pictures.
the only way to make this work is to read the manual
over and over,might be best with every picture you take.
dont take the recomindations here to heart,do other
serches,lots of homework,it will save you in so many ways.

Very Disappointed.......2003-10-28

My husband and I only use our camera occasionally and have had many problems with it.
Large Battery Drain, Poor Focusing, and Multiple Breakdowns. Most recently, our photos came out very dark.

We telephoned Minolta and they were quite indifferent to the situation. They were supposed to send me a form via e-mail in order to file a complaint and have not followed through.

We will not buy this brand again.

Very sharp pics.......2003-08-21

This little camera takes very sharp pictures. I have been extremely happy with it. It does a very good job with the autofocus and even does well in low light situations. In addition, its small size allows me to carry it in my pocket if I need to, though I do have a small case for it. This camera was well worth the money. Reliable, too. I've had it for several years and it hasn't let me down yet.

Washed Out Pictures.......2002-06-01

Indoors with flash, subject is often washed out with dark background. Outdoors pictures are always washed out/overexposed unless taken with telephoto.

Great value and performance.......2004-12-15

This review is for the model PL713s,which should be very similar to this model. I bought it on sale on black friday at Staples for $200. I plugged it in to my computer and the picture looks great with no adjustments. No dead pixels. I'm not am expert,but I think the picture looks as good as $600 monitors that I've seen in stores. Only complaint, when I run it with the resolution set at the native resolution of 1280x1024 text looks very small unless you adjust it using the view menu at the top of your desktop. IE remembers these settings. If this is a problem, Dell sells a lower resolution 17 in display.

I loved the large color 3" LCD screen it rotates 360 degrees for shooting at any angle. Overall it is a simple and elegant camera with impressive durability and quality of workmanship. Great features for the price, but poor durability.......2003-07-06

I actually got this camcorder 2 1/2 years ago as my first camcorder in anticipation of the coming birth of our first child. It offered a lot of great features for the price, and I thought the 3" viewscreen right on the camcorder was a big improvement over viewfinders and pop-out screens.

And lo and behold, when we got it, it worked exactly as we thought and we got some great memories.

But then the lens cap broke. And it started to jam tapes regularly. And put dots and speckles into some recordings. And after 3 months of use my battery wouldn't recharge anymore. I brought it in for a repair and a replacement lens cap/battery, but 9 months later all 3 problems happened again.

The first repair was under warranty, I paid for the 2nd one. But last month was really it. My sister, who lives 400 miles away from me, had twins around the same time our son was born and we went up to visit them for their 2nd birthday. My wife took (or I should say tried to take) an hour of video of me playing with all 3 boys and another 2 hours of video of all of us going to the zoo together. Well, you know what, nothing came out, because THE TAPE WAS JAMMED AGAIN! Only this time, the camcorder did not give me any message warning me of this during her attempted recording, so we thought all was fine.

So today, 2 weeks before our 2nd child is due, I threw in the towel and bought a Samsung DV camcorder. Cest la vie....I have 2 Sharp TV's that work great (one is almost 20 years old!) so I don't know if I simply got a "lemon" or if their camcorder standards are just lax compared to their other electronics.

Save Your Money.......2005-03-20
The instruction manual that comes with this VIBE player is worthless. I've written tecnical support twice and the reply always starts out "using the VIBE is really quite simple"...if it were "quite simple," I wouldn't have written to ask for help. I've had a techno-savy friends try to get this player to work with no luck. We can get the vocie recorder and radio to work without a problem but I can only get 2 out of 6 music files to play. I wish I had saved the money I spent on this and applied it to a more user friendly player

I recently purchased this item. It's my first mp3 player and I am extremly happy with it. It's small and the design is sleek. It looks nice. The ear buds are ok. It also comes with a chain so you can wear it around your neck. It did not come with any jukebox software so I used windows media player whch is very easy to use which is a good thing because the mp3 player itself is difficult to use. To scroll through the menu options you somtimes have to keep the menu button depressed while pressing another button. It's not easy to do because the buttons are so small. The manual does not help. It's very confusing. I was able to figure out how to play the music on my own after around 2 hrs of playing around with the controls. The voice recording is easy to use. The sound is good. The wma files sound great. I haven't tried any other form yet. The radio sounds good. I recoreded from the radio and it also sounded good. The player offers plenty of space for my needs. I would recommend this player to people who have the patience to learn how to use it. I would have given the player 4 stars if it weren't so difficult to learn how to use.
