Best router if you want to put computers together without a network.......2007-09-11

We bought this cable/dsl router with 4 port so we could have both of our computers on without establishing a network. This router is great and Amazon has the best price....saving me over $20 from buying it at Bestbuy (the salesman there suggested this router). Paired with the Motorola Surfboard modem, we have an unbelievable combination that works great!

VERY dependable.......2007-09-06

I bought one of these BEFSR41 routers from Amazon in December, 2000 and it has been chugging away non-stop ever since.
Originally, we had two computers hooked up to it, both running Windows98... now we have four on it; one with Win98, two with XP, and one with Vista... the router doesn't care - it just works - flawlessly. We have never done anything to it since we got it - it's probably the most trouble free electronic thing I have ever owned.
I don't remember any details about configuring it, etc, (after all it was over six years ago) but anybody who can follow the instructions should have no trouble.

Works when it works.......2007-09-04

Wouldn't be bad if it continued to work. I've had this router for 6 months. Once it just stopped working. Technical support to some faraway place with a difficult-to-hear technician helped me get it going again. Recently it just stopped working again. This time the tech support person decided it needed to be replaced. I've dialed the support line a dozen times and am now on hold trying to get a replacement. I expect I would have been better off just saying goodbye to the initial $40 investment and buying a new competitor's product rather than spending so much time on the phone trying to get this resolved.

Good little home router!.......2007-09-01

This little router was the answer to our need to add a DSL connection to an additional Linux box in a student's room in our home. 25' of network cable, an in-obtrusive heating-register-level hole in a shared wall and setting the ip addresses for the Linux networking and we were up and running. On the WinVista box Win took over before we had a chance to set ip addresses, so we needed to go into network and re-set those, else the router was seen as just being a thoughput device.
I was surprised at the ease of installation, and the Linksys support person (wherever he may have been) was clear and helpful. I like having a wired network rather than wireless because it seems more secure, and, well, because it's cheap!
Now if I can just get my son to help me configure the Linux box to drive the WinVista box's printer.
All-in-all, if you are thinking of networking 1 to 4 boxes and don't mind running some cables, this Linksys will fit your bill.

I've used/installed tons and tons of these....
I just love these to death, they're cheap and ultra reliable. Best things ever made. I've never had any problems with any of them. They do fairly well under pretty heavy demands beating out many other routers. Don't forget they're cheap..... Linksys has always been my first choice for entrylevel stuff......

Excelent Headphones but.............2006-04-11

I have a Sandisk MP3 Player, the classic, not sansa, I was happy with the included headphones until i tried it with a friends Sony vertical-in-ear headphones, it totally rocks!!

The but is this, after 2 months on continous use, the right earpiece has a hiss-like sound with strong bass, the sound is similar to a plastic bag being squeezed in your hand, that maked me keep the volume low.

This is a great headphones for the price, i recently bought the SENNHEISER PX-10 it has a LITTLE less bass than this one (nothing that a system with EQ can?t fix), but the overall sound experience is better.

After only two weeks use (on and off, for no more than an hour each time), the left speaker went out... many Sony headbands do this, but two weeks??!! In short, it's cheap quality.

I use these headphones with my iPod Shuffle. They're really comfortable, they don't slip at all, and the sound is great. They fold up, too, which is another great feature.

but not spectacular sound. I use with MP3 so there's not a lot of power going to these phones. Yes, very light but seem better made than most. If decent phones can be had for $8.00, maybe save some bucks. I like: folding, light, comfortable, and look pretty cool too.

Great Product for Your Money.......2005-08-25

I was surprised with the sound quality of these headphones. The bass is deep. In this price range they are the best.
My only problem with these is that they feel kind of fragile, especially when you folding them. Sony shoud use more sturdy material and thicker cables. I really loved the double headband, which is great for those who exercise. Overall it is a great product from Sony.
