one time use.......2007-09-10
I only got one use out of this camera. After the first roll the camera broke. It takes great pictures but it is very easily broken. If you do buy it be very careful.
Great Fun.......2007-04-02
The lomographic Supersampler camera is a ton of fun to shoot. You never really know what your going to get! The pull cord advance is unique and fun. I haven't had any problems with the camera. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone looking to have some fun with a toy camera.
You get what you paid for.......2007-03-22
This Camera is really nice although you shouldn't expect professional quality. The construction is awful although the rubber version (like this one) is more shock resistant. NEVER EVER pull the string too fast or too strong, it'll come off and the camera will be useless. Don't get disturbed by the crackling noises it constantly makes and don't use the roll that came with the camera, mine was defective and it showed in most of the first shots I took, buying another one will give you better results.
Now, if the day is sunny and bright DON'T use a 400ASA roll because the noise and grainy levels are sooo high that the shots will not look nice. It's better to use a 200ASA roll! (I live in Costa Rica where it's always bright and shiny so I actually use ASA 100). When you go to develop the roll it's better if you ask them to scan the negatives, instead of printing, this way you can choose the best shots only, or edit them (contrats, saturation, exposure, noise reduction...) just like I do. This is a really great camera but you do need to now how to use it correctly in order to get good results, just keep on practicing! And go for it! BUY IT NOW, don't think just shoot!
I love you, Supersampler.......2006-05-28
I really enjoy this camera. It is cheaply made and I feel like I have to be very careful not to break it especially while advancing the film but it takes some great pictures. On a roll of 24 I had about 1/2 a roll of great photos. It's a lot of fun and experiment with. The packaging is very cool and it somes with a little book of photos taken with the camera that are really neat.
Fun while it lasted . . . .......2006-02-25
I bought this as a present for my room mate and he took some pictures and it was fun, but halfway through the first roll of film the string (which is the shutter release) broke.
We are still waiting for a replacement after we sent it back to the company . . .

SuperSampler is the Queen of all multi-lensed cameras. Four highly light-sensitive and precision Japanese panoramic lenses capture four sequential panoramic shots on a single photo. The patented rip-cord advance ensures that you are ever-ready for action. Normal film, normal processing, no batteries.
Amazon.com Product Description
The Lomographic SuperSampler blue camera is a truly original and exciting addition to the world of Lomography. Something of an improvement over the ActionSampler and CyberSampler 2.0, the SuperSampler uses a unique pull-cord film advance mechanism and incorporates four lenses in a panoramic format to capture four shots per frame, each just a fraction of a second apart. The end result is four long images stacked on top of each other that show the sequence of motion. This gives you something akin to panoramic "movie stills" that can even be scanned and animated into a mini four-frame movie on your computer. (Click on the "See more pictures" link at the top of this page to see sample photos that were taken with the SuperSampler.)
Brought to you by the same Lomographic Society folks who introduced the free world to the famed Lomo Kompakt Automat camera, the SuperSampler shares the original Lomo's wacky, creative image--as evidenced in the colorful, photo-filled booklet that comes with the camera. The SuperSampler is also a study in styling with its unique pull-string design and ice blue color. It doesn't have a flash and sports only a small removable square to frame your photos. "Shoot from the hip" is the driving philosophy behind the Lomographic Society.
Everything with this camera is manual, including film loading, winding, and rewinding. The lens is fixed focus. However, the SuperSampler does offer two speeds--standard and high speed (four photos in 2 seconds in standard mode; four photos in 0.2 seconds in high-speed mode). And, although this multiple-image format works best for action shots, it can turn any subject into a creative, interesting slice of life.
Since there is no built-in flash; the best results occur under bright lighting conditions. It comes with a six-month warranty--Lomo will replace the camera free of charge if anything goes wrong with it during that time period. Included in the box are the camera, a SuperSampler booklet, and one roll of 24-exposure ASA 200 35mm film.

Waste of money.......2007-01-09
Broke the first time my 23 year old daughter used it. Poor Christmas present!
Crazy and Fun.......2004-12-11
I love the Supersampler. I definitely prefer its panoramic format and much sharper image rendition to the original four-lensed Actionsampler. It's really fun to play and experiment with. Be sure to try the extreme close-up effect!
The rip-cord advance is a cool feature, but does require some care. If you use it normally, it should last without a problem. My Supersampler is going on 10 rolls without a hitch.
However, if you yank the thing, it will definitely come out. Be sure not to hand this camera to any young children that don't know any better.
Oh, and use 400 ASA film. The shots are bright and colorful, with almost no blurring. It's really best for sunny days.
A unique, fun camera.......2004-03-18
No one should order this camera hoping that they will receive a professional quality item. It is simply made to be fun, and that is what it is. It is made of plastic, and it is fragile...so I will warn you. Nonetheless, it is, as I have said, tons of fun. Naturally, since it has no flash, you have to take the pictures with plenty of light. Also, every picture you get developed isn't going to be of professional quality, but that is part of the fun--you just dont know what you are going to get.
get more action!.......2004-03-10
This little camera is a very simple and straightforward device of instant fun - it's fun to use, people are always asking you questions about it, it doesn't weigh much so you can take it anywhere and best of all: your pictures are always surprising!
Don't expect it to take ordinary pictures, don't demand every photograph to be perfect. To get the best idea of what this camera is all about, visit the manufacturer's website because they have minisites for each of their products).
I got one of these supersamplers a few months back. Yes, you do need lots of light. Yes, you should take care not to pull the cord too hard (if it feels like it's jammed, you're probably just out of film).
You should also make sure to catch (people in) action or create actions yourself. Step closer to your subject while shooting the picture, have someone twist around for you, turn your wrist so the camera itself turns around while shooting, ... experiment!!
And that's the fun! Your interaction with others, their reactinos when they see the pictures, and just the tiny movement of pressing that button...
Not what I was hoping for.......2004-03-02
I got the camera, opened it, loaded the film, took 3 photos, and the pull cord almost broke (like I read about in a previous review), so be VERY careful with the cord. So I took 20 photos on the 24 exposure roll of film, and the cord would pull no more, so I figured "whatever", and rolled the film and took them in to get them developed, of all 20 photos, one of them turned out, the rest are all almost pitch black. I don't really see any point for anyone to buy this camera.

spectacular action shots.......2002-08-28
Nothing but satisfaction and plenty of laughs in using this camera. It's easy to load, shoot and rewind, and the best thing is the focus is razor-sharp. I took over 90 frames over a weekend trip in the islands, and even in the shade (under a tree), the supersampler (mine is the limited edition orange Starfish) grabbed all the tree-swinging shots with no blurred frames. Otherwise, it has great clarity in the bright sunshine. Tested it out with 100, 200 and 400 film. Clarity was best of course, with nice saturated colour at 400, but the 100 and 200 were nothing to sneeze at either.
Only gripe is my hands are not fast enough - the ripcord action can be a bit of a nuisance if you've lost a shot by forgetting to pull it again after a quick snap. The camera changed between four people, and with a variety of poses, heights, with and without the funky viewfinder, managed to capture moments on film that would otherwise have been lost to still, posed photos. Things like water splashing, jumping, swinging all captured very easily even without the viewfinder, and from the hip (or belly).
the good and the bads.......2002-05-15
i recieved this camera as a gift and here are the ups and downs of it:
good:
takes great pictures
looks sleek
easy to rewind
fun to use
bad:
hard to use when first using
no real viewfinder (mine broke off)
feels like a kiddy cam
Junk.......2002-04-09
Might be worth [less money]. A toy at best. Paint chipped off almost immediately. You'll go thru a lot of film trying to get this camera to work. Shabby craftsmanship.
5 stars for fun but...........2001-12-14
This is a silly toy and will delight pros and amateurs and kids but...Be careful! These things are very fragile. Don't expect it to last long. Speaking from years of experience with toy cameras, including this one, here's a few tips.
Use 800 ASA. There's no flash.
It works best in bright daylight with the 800 ASA.
Other film speeds work but the higher the speed, the more consistent your results will be.
It probably leaks light. Try one roll of 12 exposures to find out. If it leaks, tape it up with duct tape when you use it.
If it lasts a year, you're lucky!
Have fun with it!
Great Fun ----Read on,.......2001-09-02
I was a little reluctant in ordering this camera [...].
You must have some knowledge of basic camera operation, and this cute thing will be a real treat. Loading the film will be complicated for those who are not use to winding and catching manualy, if you take your time, go slow and you'll get it. After two times its a piece of cake. The camera is design to capture movement, so if your pointing to somthing stationary you'll get four shots(on one print) of the same thing, so use this for movement and you'll be astonished. [....] I would not recommend this camera for those under 12, unless they are knowedgeable on the basics of how a camera works. Its not a toy. [....] A very creative concept, get it and have fun.

Fun in the Sun.......2003-06-21
An excellent camera for crazy action photos. The 4 panoramic lenses are sharp, and the rip-cord advance is really fast! Totally unique. Be warned though - it really needs bright sunlight to do its job.
it's so cool.......2002-06-04
First I was very sceptic about it and didn't believe it would work. But it did! The pictures you get with that camera are a real hit. Definitely I found my way back to phtography with this amazing surprise. All you need ist daylight the rest just happens.
Real cool stuff, therefore 5 Stars for the SuperSampler
super camera, super fun.......2002-04-26
i very much like everything about this camera.
it makes great pictures and is so much fun to use.
maybe it is a little hard to put in the film and rewind it, but there are very good and well designed instructions that come with the camera. so read it very well and you will have so much fun taking pictures as never before in your life.
best is of course if you bring your friends out and start jumping or running or even have a supersampler match....
Less Horror.......2002-03-21
I like this one a lot more than I like the other Lomo. I have yet to see this type on clearance so I don't feel really bad about this impulse purchase. It has a rip cord so you can advance the film without injuring your thumb but on a recent trip to New Orleans, I got about 10 photos off a 24 exposure roll. Thats not good when I'm paying for 800 speed film (and not to mention that most film give you three extra exposures). I like the size of the frames and it looks better than the other Lomo. It shows off action shots a lot better and looks nicer too. But much more importantly, I didn't have to put on a band-aid.
Supersampler FUN.......2002-01-12
While it takes some practice to capture your "style" with this camera, it is well worth the time...I am a professional photographer and because of my constant need for high quality often forget the good old fun of photography...this has brought it back!

Customer Reviews:
Has a mind of its own.......2003-12-13
I'm glad most people are happy with their card because I'm having a terrible time with mine. I just came back from a short trip and was transferring 21 pictures that I took to my computer. By the 4th picture, things came to a halt, it might have been my computer. When I tried again, the camera gave me the "No image" message. Yes, the card was blank, all 21 pictures in the camera simply vanished before my eyes while I was transferring them to my computer. This is not the first time. It did do a few little funny things here and there before. Obviously I missed the crucial sign of a greater potential trouble back then. This memory card has compeletely made me paranoid about taking pictures with a digital camera. It's one of those things that money refund won't replace what's been lost.
Awesome.......2003-06-15
I've owned it for a year and it works fine. No issues with loss of storange or read/write speed.
solid reliable product at a great value.......2003-05-26
I purchased the 128 MB Simpletech CompactFlash Card about seven months ago. My digital camera came with a 16MB card, but I wanted more memory and this was great. So far, it has been very reliable in holding pictures upto the full capacity. I read that other CompactFlash Cards can sometimes stop functioning after a couple months or not live upto the "promised" capacity. Not true with this card. I take quite a few pictures and therefore have used the card to its full capacity many times and then erased pictures from it using the camera. I didn't have to format the card and it's still functioning like a new one. I have not had a single problem with it and I am very happy with this product. The price was reasonable as well. I highly recommend this card to anyone looking for a CompactFlash Card.
Avoid this CF card if you have a Nikon.......2003-02-24
I have a Coolpix 4300. This CF card runs just fine but it is slower than a same capacity Lexar 12x card. If you are not taking high resolution pictures all the time then this card should not be a problem.
Fast, Cheap, Dependable.......2003-01-10
I bought this simpletech card after a very dissapointing exeperience with a 128 MB lexar card (the red labled one). The lexar was very slow in both picture taking and picture review modes on my Canon s200 Digital Elph.
This card is much faster then the above mentioned lexar card, and has proven to work pefectly in my camera. It is also one of the cheapest cards on the market, albiet prices are dropping everyday, so its hard to make such a sweeping statement.
If you own a Canon camera, and want a good, cheap, fast, dependable CF card, then the simpletech is a very good choice. Also keep in mind that simpletech cards come with a lifetime warranty versus limited year warranties of some other makers. This made me feel a bit better when purchasing such an inexpensive card.
