Good replacement.......2007-02-14

I have a Compaq computer that came with Win 98 which I bought back then. My floppy drive died and I bought this one as a replacement. It has worked well and without a single problem, I recommend it.

There is one problem, though. The Compaq tower prevents the Eject button to protrude comfortably. I can stick my finger inside to push it and eject the diskette, but I prefer using the upper end of my pen. This isn't the fault of the Mitsumi and it isn't an annoyance.

The quasi-SVHS doesn't seem to make that big a difference with the unit I got. Pictures actually looked better on my previous and very reliable Samsung (don't have the model # with me), which I had passed along to my daughter. I thought this would be a step up. It wasn't. Wish more info was displayed on the read-out, such as the speed it was recording at. Remote is good, and liked the auto-clock and the programming. Functioned adequately until it went belly up after fourteen months, either ejecting cassettes when inserted, or just gobbling up the tape. BTW, the old unit my daughter got is still running great. Think she'd trade?

Samsung VCR is a Good Value.......2001-01-25

This is a pretty good VCR at a great price. I saw a demonstration of this unit. The 19 micron heads delivered a good picture in the EP mode. What I liked best about this unit is that it has SQBP, it has the capability of playing back S-VHS tapes. That's a good feature.

I recently got this dvd player, thinking i scored on a great deal. Was i ever wrong! the dvd player looks really great, i'll give it that much, BUT whenever i put a dvd in, it skips. it might go well for a little bit, then it skips to the point where you can't enjoy the movie. Don't be fooled with this player's good lucks, you'll definitely be disappointed!!!

I have this DVD player hooked up with the RCA F38310 HDTV and the RCA RT-2600 Home Theater system. The quality of the DVD picture is fabulous, and the VCD playback makes it that much more worthwhile to me. The JPEG slideshow feature is slow, and that's why it doesn't get 5 stars. I've had no problems with any CD's, even ones from the mid 80's.

One year later; looking for a new DVD player!.......2004-01-08

This DVD player was a dissapointment from the beginning. It has always skipped and paused with DVD playback. Now, one year into it's life and just past the warranty dates, the tray will no longer close completely and it does not recognize any discs. My advise would be to keep looking.

Not as good as the features add up to.......2003-03-14

Just bought it, and found that the JPEG display was painfully slow. Also, It would not play my MP3 Cd's properly. Lots of smaller issues. Plus, it has a poorly designed remote as well. It looks cool, the DVD functions are great, the zooms and scans etc. all work well. But I just wanted this to be able to slideshow JPEGS from my digital camera and share with the family but its so slow that Im returning it tomorrow!

Optimistic & Slightly Disappointed.......2003-03-03

When selecting this model, it seemed to have everything. My initial interest was the diversity of disc types, including ability to view JPEG photos. It plays DVD's just fine, however, I have found some older audio CD's that would occasionally skip. This could have been due to the quality of the CD. The JPEG files that I downloaded from my computer to a disc do work, but seem painfully slow in a wipe-down display. Everything hooked up easily to my other equipment and that was a plus. Overall, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Pros: good price, small and light, battery last over a year without hassle of recharge, secret password.

Cons: no to-do-list, no calender.

The 2nd and 3rd line in Memo only allow numbers. I got around it by storing most information in the first line.

I was disappointed when I received the organizer and realized I could not store notes or memos with text, only numbers, spaces and the dash. I wanted to store to-do lists etc. I guess only phone numbers need organization.
