Dont expect to get 1000 Mbps out of any PCI card, unless you have PCI express. But I clocked FTP transfer speeds at 380 Mbps.

The CXAI5198 from Uniden is a combination corded/cordless phone system that comes loaded with features. The cordless handset comes with its own charging cradle and utilizes the 5.8 GHz frequency to deliver greater range and clearer reception than many traditional 900 MHz or 2.4 GHz phones.
With the page button, you can easily find the misplaced handset, while headset compatibility gives you the option of hands-free communication. You can access features via an LCD screen found on the cordless handset and corded base unit, and you can choose between one of three menu languages (English, Spanish, or French). The CXAI5198 is compatible with caller ID and call waiting services, and has a 50-number caller ID memory. A 10-number speed dial is also provided for frequently called numbers. Display-and-dial lets you call any number from the caller ID or speed dial display simply by pressing the talk button.
The corded base unit functions as a complete message center, with a built-in digital answering machine and hands-free speakerphone. The answering machine has a 13-minute maximum recording time and a selectable 1 or 4-minute maximum message length. Features such as call screening, memo recording, and call recording are provided; and you can access your messages while away from home with remote message check.
With the intercom function, you can communicate from the base unit to the cordless handset, while three-way conference calling lets both locations talk to an outside call at the same time. You can place a call on hold or temporarily mute your side of the conversation. I purchased several Uniden phones in the past. Like the others I've owned and loved, this phone has lived up to my expectations. The corded and cordless combo is really convenient, especially if the electricity goes out. The phone and answering machine has several volume options. The display screens and key pads are easy to read. The phone will work even if the answering machine is not connected/turned on. The black/grey finish also looks very modern.

Like other reviews have stated the cordless is absolutely horrible! Theres a lot of static even when I'm right next to the base, how crazy is that? Theres random clicking noises (is someone tapping my phone line?? no it's just a poorly made unit) and don't think about moving far away from the base, because you wont hear a thing.
The corded unit is OK, it has a pretty cool recording feature that lets you record your conversation, but theres an annoying beep you hear every 10 seconds or so and the other person can hear it too.
Well I think I'll return this to where I bought it, I thought it would be good since I live in an apartment and don't need much range for a cordless phone, but even standing next to the base it I get horrible static. Pfft buh bye.

Have heard good feedback on this phone from all over the net. Just a advise to everyone, do not buy this from Amazon. It is more prudent to pay a $ 1.5 extra and get it from Target.
I have ordered this phone from Amazon about 3 weeks back and still do have it with me. I am not sure if I will ever get it. This is my last purchase from Amazon.
Advise to all do not nuy from her..at least this particular item.

The set up on this phone is so simple, the phone itself just takes you through step by step. Basically bought it to have a phone that works when electricity is down (live in rural area). The only drawback is a lot of interference on the cordless.

this is the second phone like this we have bought. The range we can get with the cordless is great and the answering machine is easy to set up. We still use our first one that we bought, we just needed an extra phone for in the basement.

Not worth the money.......2007-05-03
I bought this telephone because I needed a combination phone system with an answering machine. I had my phone for less than a month when my battery in my cordless wouldn't hold a charge for very long. Not too long after that, the cord phone base wouldn't ring!!! I have had 2 Uniden brand phones so far and both of them turned out to be junk....don't buy!!!

We really wanted a corded / cordless combination 'phone with an answering machine and this one works fine. My only gripe is that the speakerphone (at least on mine) barely works. You basically have to have your mouth at the bottom of the 'phone (where the microphone is) for it to work enough for the other party to hear you. Unless you want to scream. The reception on the cordless phone is very clear. You can get fairly far away from the base but of course, multiple walls may make the line scratchy or unusable. All in all, I'm happy with this telephone.
