Great for TiVo, but has relatively short range.......2006-02-04
I've used my MA111 (v.1) with a Tivo for over a year now with absolutely no glitches. The TiVo instantly detected iand configured it without a problem. Given that it has been turned on and connected 24/7 for over a year, I'd say this is quite a sturdy adapter. My only gripe is that, like most 802.11b devices, it has a relatively short range. Mine is about 30 feet and two walls from the wireless router, and gets only 30-50 percent signal strength. Other than that, this adapter is perfect for TiVo (just make sure you get the right version, since v.2 is not TiVo compatible).
A Pain to Configure.......2005-12-24
The adapter itself works reasonably well on XP, but I found it nearly impossible to configure the software that came with it. I even tried it on different varieties of Windowws. Only XP was able to handle it. Netgear could have done a better job with the accompanying software. But once you get over the initial configuration in XP, the adapter works fine. I don't recommend it for any other operating system though.
I HATE this piece of crap.......2005-12-20
I bought this for my sister's computer a year ago and it has been nothing but trouble since I've supported it.
I'm thinking I'll smash it with a hammer and send it back to Netgear with a 'thank you' note as gratitude for them wasting so many hours of my life trying to get their worthless drivers to work. I might have been able to cure cancer or build the perfect hydrogen creation system and resolve the world's energy crisis. Instead I was tearing out my already thinning hair and praying to every diety I could remember that this thing would pick up an IP address and keep it.
Once I'd get the adapter going you couldn't get near the adapter because if it lost its connection it might never get it back.
If you're thinking about buying this card do yourself a favor and buy a gun instead. Suicide would be more rewarding than owning this intolerable piece of crap.
I'm sure if I could find the words to capture how I feel about this adapter and its drivers Amazon would censor them.
Crashed my computer. Cannot reboot. Cannot even reinstall windows........2005-10-09
Installing this product on my rather new XP machine has led to the hardest crash I have ever experienced on a computer. Not only can I not boot to safe mode or boot to last good setting, but when I try to reinstall windows, the reinstall hangs every time.
My plan is to pull the hard drives, reformat them on a different computer, plug them back in and try again - with all data lost of course.
Stay away from this product!

Pro. 1. Cheap ( 1/3 price of SONY) 2. Easy to use. 3. strong ( I dropped once. but it's OK)

Good for the hard of hearing........2005-12-29
I have had these for years. I put one next to me at my hearing level. Thus my husband can listen to TV more quietly. For me it is mostly for TV, some music, and occasional movies. It does cut out on some of the old movies -- in the quiet places. There may be better ones out there, but these work for me. Another thing I like is putting them in the kitchen and listening to the news while I am making dinner or doing dishes. It is much clearer then the TV speakers...

when watching a movie and you want surround sound you shouldn't be distracted by the speakers cutting on and off every time the movie goes to one of those silent scenes. i was disappointed by this. not to mention the fact that i was getting static on one of my speakers even though the speaker was only 10 feet away from the antenna and the box said it has a range of up to 300 feet. to redeem this product, at higher volumes it does a pretty good job. you don't need to worry about tripping over wires. but if you are like me and want great sound at all volumes of the movie buy something else.

I've had this fax machine for approx. a year and have only used 1 ink cartridge (which I don't think is too bad considering how much I use it). This is a half way decent fax machine for the money. I wouldn't get this machine if you plan on copying very detailed info but if you are copying regular typeface on regular sheets of paper it's okay. If you try copying something heavier than regular paper or lighter than regular paper it will most certainly get stuck (at least for me it did!). But for basic faxing and copying this fax works fine. I also have digital telephone and answering machine and call id and it worked fine for me.

Print quality is only fair - blurred text. Forget any kind of small chart or image.
Ribbon is not in a cartridge, making it hard to load.
There is no tray to catch pages.
Main advantage is a small footprint.

Yes, this machine has a fax/phone switch. It's a button actually. Maybe some should read the owners manual before posting reviews on a product. Cartridges are about 29-34 dollars for a pk of 2 where I live. And, yeah it will run thru a lot of cartridges, if you use it daily as a copier! I use mine once a week, and mainly for faxes. Never had problems with this machine!!

I didn't even set up the unit because I need the phone/fax switch. I wish this information as well as whether the fax is call waiting compatable was available before I took it home. I will return it.
