Before buying this camera I read all the reviews posted. Most people were satisfied with this product, but a few complained that after a period of time the screen went black and the camera was unable to take photos. I thought that this would never happen to me and bought it anyway. Sure enough durring a fishing trip when I wanted to take photos of the lunkers I was catching the screen went black. I almost threw it in the river. Now I'm careful with my things, especialy sesitive camera equipment, so this was of no fault of my own. Spare yourself the frustration and buy a different camera.

Quality and features are fine, but camera is probably too small for you if you have large hands. If I use two hands I am fighting to keep my fingers out of my shots. Because of the shape and weight distrubution I find it difficult to shoot with one hand. I have a much larger camera (Canon S1 IS) that I often use one-handed with no issues.

To be fair, this criticism certainly applies to lots of super small digital cams. The S3 seems even worse than many others to me though. Be sure to at least handle one before you buy.

These cameras are defective within 1-2 years.......2007-05-19

I had the Nikon Coolpix S3 for about 14 months (of course the warranty ended after 12), and the screen went black all of a sudden. You can still view old pictures, but all new pictures come out completely black. This is apparently a VERY common problem with Nikons, particularly this model. They have a service advisory for several other Coolpix models to fix this same problem, but not for the S3-S6 models - and Nikon will charge you a significant amount of money to fix it. DO NOT get suckered into buying this camera, or any Nikon for that matter - I was extrememly disappointed with the camera, but especially with their service.

I got one of the Mp3 players, and within my first day of using it, it was already screwed up. Also, Samsung is taking forever to reply to my complaint, and I probably don't have a warrenty because I won it at a football game!

Overall, I was pretty happy with my Yepp until, three months in, I dropped it from a few feet high (about waist high). Afterwards, no headphones could get sound out of it. Otherwise, until then, I was happy with the function of my Yepp.

Battery Hog.......2003-05-28

I like everything about this player except everytime I pick it up it needs a new battery. I expected that after listening to the radio/music for 2 hours a day I would replace the battery every week. But, instead of 15 hours of play it should say 15 hours to drain the battery, play or not!

At first I thought it was the carrying case pushing buttons so I removed the case and left it sitting in my desk drawer overnight. It didn't make any difference, every other day I am replacing batteries no matter how much I listen to the music.

If they could fix this problem this would be an awesome player.

I bought 1 of these VCR's and liked it and then bought another 1 for my sons room.During some bad weather the lights went out then came back on after about an hour.These peices of junk did'nt work anymore,I found it strange that the only electroic equipment that went out were these "SHARP VCR's" I took them to a VCR shop and the guy told me that SHARP makes these VCR's with cheap no good parts. I am out 2 VCR's and($).I am so disapointed with ... Company.They told me that it was not thier fault.Let me stress all my other electonic equipment was fine! ...

This unit worked well for a month or so then started stopping in the middle of a song. Sometimes it will start again - other times it will not play no matter what you do. The radio is just about useless as the tuning is so tight it is hard to line up a station. I have to say the alarm worked well as long as you put it on buzzer and not cd. Overall, spend a few extra bucks and get a better unit.

Deffective.. TWICE!!.......2005-05-24

I recieved this as a gift and the first one would play the cd for about a minuite and then stop and show 00 on the display that is supposed to shown ( and initially would show) how many tracks are on the cd. I contacted amazon and they mailed me a replacement and a return label for the first one. I tried out the new one and it never even acknowledges that there is a cd in the unit at all and would spin for a second or two and then show 00 on the display and never play at all.
I am very dissapointed in this item and think that the entire product line must be defective.
I really hate that I have to return a gift at all. What I want to do is get a different cd player or gift certificate but I dont know if Amazon will let me do that yet... since it was a gift from someone.. but I am trying.

I DO NOT RECCOMEND getting this item at all. Very Disapointing and not worth the hassle.

Is it a cheap stereo or an expensive piece of garbage?.......2005-03-11

I'd go with the garbage. The tuner is extremely hard to use because the numbers aren't aligned right, and only a few stations come in clearly on it. (My other radios all get more stations.) When playing a CD, it often skips in places that my other CD player doesn't, and sometimes even stops for no apparent reason. The only good point of it is that it has nice, big numbers, but I don't it's worth buying this just for that. Don't buy this, please; it's dangerous to have radios flying out of windows.

this cd/clock radio is great . i like the fact it has a battery backup for power loss and you can wake up to a cd as well as the radio. easy to set and loud alarm. the only thing that would make this prefect would be digital tunning for radio stations. otherwise its a good product that does what you want it to and looks nice doing it. this is a great gift for anyone
