Product Description
The C-5060 Wide Zoom stands out with its extremely short shutter release time lag. You can be sure this 4x zoom camera will fire almost immediately after you press the button. Special, fleeting moments, such as your friend leaping from the bridge on his first bungee jump, are captured forever. In addition, impressive wide-angle capabilities let you record the big picture, for example, the bridge spanning the gorge with the river and onlookers below. Thanks to the five megapixel resolution, your shots will make a lasting impact even when printed in A3 format. Besides these highlights, full creative control, precision features and a large range of optional accessories give you the freedom to handle almost any scene.
Customer Reviews:
Possible "fix" for mode-dial problems mentioned here.......2007-09-11
I too have had my C5060 for more than three years and I have used it quite often during that time. Occasionally it would experience the dreaded mode-dial problem, but I would wiggle a few things and turn it off/on a few times and the problem would go away. About a month ago, I turned on the camera and the mode-dial problem was back with a vengeance. None of the buttons worked correctly and nothing I did would fix it - I even tried most of the "fixes" suggested in the various forums (but NOT the WD-40).
Since I needed a wide-zoom camera, I bought a pocket sized camera and thought I might have to discard the C5060, since the cost of an out-of-warranty repair could not be justified. A few days, ago I turned it on again and the mode-dial problem was still there. I really do like my C5060, so I tried something I never saw suggested anywhere - I took my trusty air duster can, pointed the nozzle tube at the mode-dial and forced compressed air into every nook and cranny I could reach. When I turned the camera back on, it worked perfectly - the dreaded mode-dial problem was gone!
Today, the camera still works fine, but it is only the 3rd day after the "fix". However, maybe this technique will work for some other people too...
Used to be a 5 star now 1 star.......2007-08-22
I purchased this camera almost three years ago and thought I had made a bad decision based on the forum comments that I had seen at the time. However I kept my fingers crossed and thoroughly enjoyed what was an exceptional product. Picture quality is excellent, easy to use and a very nice camera to look at. I thought I had evaded the mode dial problem when it 'attacked'with a vengeance and my camera is now almost useless.
I thought for the price I paid that I would have a trouble free camera.
At this point I am at a loss since all the comments point to Olympus non responsiveness to the issue.
I have always loved Olympus products and have purchased many different cameras, from the excellent iS 20 QD to C-3000, C 4040 C -5060. I am just no longer sure whether I want to take the risk on another Olympus product.
Poor quality.......2007-04-16
A camera as expensive as this one should work for more than a couple of years. I used to love the camera and Olympus but will not buy there products ever again. The menu options have malfunctioned making the camera usless. And after reading the most current reviews the same problem has happened to many other people. Seeing that so many people have had this same problem shows that Olympus makes poor quality equipment even in there more expensive cameras. Look elsewhere.
Good while it lasted.......2007-03-25
I bought this camera a couple years ago when I was trying to get more serious about taking pictures, and I did. Learned to use and love it and got great photos, but then after it was a little over a year old it malfunctioned and has become useless. Every time I turn it on it gets stuck trying to zoom and no dials or controls will respond, I can't really afford or justify paying another $150 for repairs. I'll be very cautious if I'm considering another camera from Olympus in the future.
C5060 Olympus.......2007-02-26
I bought the C5060 reconditioned over a year ago, and I am always amazed at how beautiful the photos are and what I see through the monitor. The drawback I ran into was that you cannot see your info through the viewfinder. My local camera shop sold me a "shield" for bright times of day, and that helps a lot. My daughter is a photographer (mainly in the modeling field), and she really loved handling and using it. I'm thinking of getting her one for her BD in two weeks. I'm saddened by the poor reviews of it here and there, but I'm wondering if we surveyed 500 users what the percentage of the mode and/or dial problems would surface. ANY camera, ANY machine CAN have something wrong. Since I love the output and already own it and have a 5-year warranty since day one, I'll go on my merry (but a bit more informed) way and enjoy it. If it breaks down, I'll send it to Olympus or to my local shop, and my warranty will cover it at 100%. I have purchased approximately 8 or more Olympus cameras, but I've not had problems with any of them. If one should get "sick" I'll grab my C700 (GREAT camera BTW) and my Stylus 500 and go on my way. It pays to have more than one camera. I'm still of a mind to get this thing for my daughter since she loved it so, and she took gorgeous photos with it.
I'll take the chance as the cost sure beats the original cost when I was dying to get it ($1,000!). I think I paid just over $400 completely with Olympus warranty, and Olympus has never been less than gracious with me!
I think "stuff happens" and I may or may not get hit. I'll proceed to learn, and if it fails big time, and my warranty is not honored, I'll go to another model, but Olympus has had my heart (due to lenses) since the 70s and their SLRs!) I'd probably go E-Volt or one of the other SLR digitals they have been putting out.
So as long as they repair, I am covered by warranty, and they treat me as nicely as they always have, I'm an Olympus die hard. ;)

Amazon.com Product Description
The snazzy DVP620VR from Philips lets you watch movies from VHS tape or from premium-quality progressive-scan DVD, view digital-image slide shows, listen to audio CDs, or play your homemade MP3 CDs through your living-room speakers -- all from one affordable, space-saving device. The Philips DVP620VR also lets you record off-air in hi-fi stereo sound and watch your camcorder or hook up your gaming console through its convenient front-panel audio/video inputs.
Whether your living room is currently home to an HDTV or you're merely thinking of "someday," the DVP620VR stands ready to deliver the full potential of your DVDs. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.
The VCR's 4-head design ensures smooth slow-motion play (forward and reverse) and clear still-frame images, 19-micron heads deliver the clearest possible picture when recording or viewing in EP (extended-play) mode, and with hi-fi sound the unit records and plays back stereo audio tracks. Other features include 1-touch recording, timer recording, auto head cleaning, and auto repeat playback (great for trade shows and presentations). You can even copy from DVD to VHS tape, providing the DVD is not Macrovision copy-protected -- a great idea for sharing your disc-based home videos with friends and family who don't yet have DVD players.
Video connections include front- and rear-panel composite-video inputs and rear-panel RF coaxial video in and out jacks -- perfect for either spontaneous hookups (like a camcorder or second VCR) or permanent connections (as with a cable box or DVR). Outputs include a single composite-video output for DVD/VCR video signals and DVD-only outputs for component-video (switchable for 480i and 480p, depending on your TV) and S-video.
A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio from both the DVD player and the VCR to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's coaxial digital-audio output for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. If you don't have a surround receiver or six-channel speaker setup, you can still make every movie night the ultimate experience: virtual surround sound simulates surround sound through two speakers (even the stereo speakers on your TV).
Playback options include single-disc resume, which lets you pick-up where you left off on your current DVD (not applicable for MP3 or JPEG CDs), disc-lock parental controls, and picture zoom for magnification of select images.
What's in the Box
DVD-Video player/VCR, remote control with batteries, a user's manual, and an analog audio/composite-video interconnect.

You won't believe how large my contact list is! So when I bought a Palm PDA, I knew that extended memory would have to be the way to go. Product Description
This phone is designed and engineered to exacting standards for reliability, long life and outstanding performance. 900 MHz digital spread spectrum offers you unparalleled range. It's the best defense against unwanted interference and it provides superior voice communication security. Integrated digital answering system utilizes microchip technology, which means no more tapes or moving parts. This ensures clearer recordings and longer life. The 2-way page feature allows you to locate a misplaced handset from the base and the built-in intercom provides convenient room-to-room communication. Dual keypad with speakerphone offers you the convenience of having two separate phones in one. It also allows you to dial your call from either the handset or the base.
Amazon.com Product Description
The Uniden EXA-3955 uses the 900 MHz frequency and digital spread-spectrum (DSS) technology to provide exceptional clarity and range for a cordless phone. This model also has an upgraded holographic LCD screen, which is brighter than standard LCDs, and two keypads, one on the handset as well as the base unit.
The EXA-3955 also has an integrated digital answering system with a voice prompting feature that announces programmable functions on the answering machine, such as personal voice greetings and the day and time.
Included with this unit are two interchangeable faceplates in jungle and denim designs, which allow you to change the color of the base station.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent Phone, Crummy Answering Machine.......2004-11-17
If you've looked for a 900 MHz cordless phone recently because of interference between your 2400 MHz cordless phone, 802.11b/g wireless network, and microwave oven, you may have noticed that nobody sells 900 MHz cordless phones with DSS or even plain-jane digital voice anymore. Digital technology such as DSS and digital voice transmission are essential for cordless phone security and privacy. Without it, anybody with a scanner from Radio Shack can listen in. People with special equipment--or even good ears--can pick out credit card and bank account numbers when they're entered on a telephone keypad.
I bought my DSS Uniden EXA3955 a little over a year ago from a third-party Amazon seller. It's not available through Amazon at the moment; however, it is still available refurbished for $40 to $50 from other online vendors.
This phone is a basic one-line 900 MHz DSS model with great range--even through walls and floors. The handset is comfortable to use, and easy to hold on your shoulder. The sound quality is fine--probably not exceptional, but definitely not bad, with an adjustable volume control that goes high enough to hurt sensitive ears. It also has a standard-size headset jack that works well. The biggest disadvantage to me is the inability to turn off the ringer on the handset (it does have high and low ring volume with two different ring-tones). Other disadvantages for others may be the lack of caller-ID display (doesn't matter to me--I refuse to pay $7 per month for it on top of the $23/mo for basic phone service) and possibly ease-of-use issues for programming speed-dial (however, I don't use speed-dial on my home phone, so I'm hardly qualified to give a strong opinion).
The base has a speakerphone that works OK--about what you can expect from a consumer-quality speakerphone.
The answering machine in the base is all-digital, but the sound quality is poor, and it's not very easy to use. It can be turned off though, which is what I have done; I continue to use my $20 stand-alone GE 2-9868A answering machine because it's intuitive in its operation, and its sound quality is significantly better.
If you've come to realize that 2.4 GHz phones are all about hype and marketing (it's true--2.4 GHz signals are more easily blocked by walls and floors than 900 MHz signals, they don't use higher power levels to transmit, they're prone to interference from microwave ovens, and they're competing with wireless networks for 2.4 GHz spectrum; therefore 2.4 GHz is an inferior technology for cordless phone applications) and you're looking for a basic 900 MHz cordless phone with DSS that just plain works well, this is a good choice for the money if you don't use caller ID, and you're willing to put up with the crummy answering machine or use a different one.
Pros and Cons.......2002-01-19
Received this item for Christmas, and am pleased with some features, and not others. Recording my own message for the answering machine part was not successful. It came out all muffled and unacceptable. Handset ring is not same as base ring. Confusing to use memory features. Does it's job for the price.
Unidens seem to be a hit or miss thing.......2001-12-27
Our old phone is a uniden. The first one we had bought back then didn't do well for us. The second was wonderful. We had it for about 5 years and abused it quite badly. It still works but we needed a new one. So we bought another uniden. I probably won't buy another one. I bought this one because it was more money than others. My thoughts- more money spent the better the phone. I have static the whole time. Changing channels does not work. Troubleshooting says it could be appliances and we do keep it in the kitchen. But we kept our other one in the kitchen and had no problems. I would suggest to buy one in a store- quicker exchange if it doesn't work for you. Cordlesses are touchy.
Otherwise, I thought the features were great. I picked this one also because it has the functions we needed and not unneccessary ones. We don't use caller id. One thing I liked about the more expensive uniden (with caller id) we did not buy is that you can program a distinct ring for different callers. I think since this phone does not have caller id this function would have been great.
